Ears is a guidance counselor at the Canterlot School for Gifted Unicorns. He has had the privilege of helping many of the talented students to come through the program, including the famous Twilight Sparkle. But for a while, Ears has had difficulty focusing on his work, and he suspects that Twilight has something to do with it. So he speaks to Princess Celestia, who gives him leave to return home to Shearcago, a metropolis quite different than Canterlot.

But how will Twilight react to her counselor's disappearance?
