One Year on Fimfiction · 1:29am

Actually, it feels like I've been on this site a lot longer than that. In general, I feel like I've been a part of this fandom for a long time even though I only started watching towards the end of Season 2. A lot has changed over the course of a year, and my stories have been either really good or really bad. I'd say in general that I've grown as a writer and will continue to grow in the future.
I will now be giving a detailed recap of all of the stories I've posted on this site.
Note: Stories that are Not Safe For Woona will be given a [NSFW] tag to the right of the link, so click at your own risk. Also, the recap will be delving into spoilers, so if you have not read the stories mentioned I suggest you avoid reading the recap.

I have to say I got very lucky with my first story. Maybe it was the catchy title that no one had used yet, but this story skyrocketed in popularity and became my most viewed story on the site. As for whether that popularity is deserved, well...that's a point up for debate.
I started with an idea of pairing up all the members of the Mane Six into various ships. What ensued was a novel-length exhibition into relationships and sexuality. There were some really good ideas, and also some bad ones (Rarity raping Spike comes to mind).
It was very well-received at the beginning, but when it branched off reception became mixed. Nevertheless, it maintains a high like/dislike ratio, nearly 1,100 comments, and close to 9,000 views. I will probably never have a story this popular again on the site, which is odd to say about my very first one.

Do we really have to talk about this one? Can't I just say it was a bad idea and move on? No? All right...
I was quite literally not in my right frame of mind when I wrote this. I wanted to write something along the line of Cupcakes or Rainbow Factory, but I failed on that account. The story only got about 1,000 views, and it's got the worst like/dislike ratio of all my stories, for good reason.
Reception was mixed. Some readers were grossed out, but others found it tame. To each his own, I guess. It's safe to say I will not be delving into the grotesque for no reason in the future.

In the very little research I did before writing this, I hadn't found a Harry Potter crossover on the site, and figured it was high time to make one. I was writing it alongside Filly Fooling, which I eventually found too difficult to do, so I ended up canning the project because I was out of ideas. Oh well, not everything I write is going to stick.

I hoped this one would have gotten more views. It tells the story of the Mane Six and how their parents traumatized them or left them feeling helpless and alone in a cruel world. Sad stuff, and I think I did an adequate job writing about it, but nothing strikes me as truly memorable. Still, I am reasonably proud of this work.

Yawn. That's all I have to say. The story of a washed-up Trixie sinking into a deep depression and needing the help of the Mane Six to cheer her up again deserved a far more thorough treatment than I gave it. It was at least an exercise in writing, and it wasn't really that bad. It was just bland.

I had a lot of fun writing this one, I don't care that only about 300 people read it. A television finds its way in Equestria, and Twilight and her friends are glued to the 2012 election season. What follows is a fight between liberals Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Spike, versus conservatives Applejack and Rarity, with Pinkie Pie not knowing what she's talking about. They all debate until Fluttershy begs them to stop. Princess Celestia then takes the television set away and scolds the Mane Six for letting politics create a rift in their friendship.
It wasn't fantastic, but it was a lot of fun putting talking points from both parties into the ponies' mouths, making this relatively easy to write. Check it out if you haven't yet, and you might find it a bit funny.

Outside of Discord's Revenge, my worst story and the most negative feedback. I didn't realize how bad it was until I saw the reviews come in. Yes, I did make Spike out to be a total dick, manipulating a drunk Rarity into having sex with him. It was basically a reverse of their situation in Filly Fooling, but it definitely fell flat. You can skip it if you want. I won't feel offended.

This is quite possibly my best work, and also quite the popular story. Rainbow Dash, feeling curious, tries cuddling with her friends, but when she cuddles with Rarity she gets more than what she bargained for. I took a cute idea and turned it into a shipfic, which not everyone was happy about, but most people still seemed to enjoy it.
Along with Filly Fooling, it got featured in the update slots back when there were only two of them. It continued to get featured every chapter, so I knew I was doing something right. With about 550 likes and nearly 700 favorites, it's my most well-received story on the site, which is a nice feeling.

I am damned proud of this story. Originally written for an AppleDash contest, it was rejected because I didn't really portray the characters in a relationship. Rather, Rainbow Dash was mourning the death of her friend and lover. Interspersed with the sad narrative are flashbacks into their life together, and I thought I did a really nice job portraying their relationship (not to toot my own horn or anything). I really wish more people had read it, but maybe some people here will give it a shot.
The Pink Temptation [NSFW]

This was originally called "Equestrian Beauty," a name I tried for two different versions of this story but one I ended up not using for either of them. This story focuses on Carrot Cake's slowly growing desire for a certain pink pony. The reason I cancelled so far into the story was because I found some editors that helped me completely retool the story. We'll be going over that story in a minute. Anyway, I got a lot of flak from someone on fanfiction.net for cancelling the story and starting over, which tells me that people enjoyed it. I didn't like where it was heading, though, and the revised ideas were much better.
Equestrian Pie [NSFW]
Rating: M [sex]
Word Count: 23,179
Chapters: 3
Status: Incomplete
My current project, and the first one to feature collaboration with my editors. This story starts from Cup's perspective, giving some motive for her to cheat on Carrot, which will eventually lead to a huge misunderstanding that nearly tears the marriage apart and sends Carrot off to Pinkie Pie. Eventually it will incorporate some of the ideas beginning to sprout in "Pink Temptation," and I'm really excited to see where I can take this.
I mentioned some editors that I got shortly before "Pink Temptation" was cancelled. Those are Karrakaz (a great critic in the positive sense of the word) and Steel Resolve (author of Green, he has truly fantastic ideas). Both of them have been invaluable in my "Equestrian Pie" rewrite and in ideas for other stories as well. I come up with the basic premise, and they throw in some great twists and turns until I can really see a clear outline of the story. Before I was writing as I went, which didn't always work too well. Now I have some guidance and direction. If you ever get the chance to write with an editor, definitely do it. If it works out, your writing will be much better and you will have more fun doing it.
Well, that's all for now. Here's looking to the next year. It should have some great things ahead!
