Midnight Start Gazing. ^.^ · 5:12am
I decided to have a "quick" midweek stargaze, since the skies were clear, it's not too cold, there's no wind and a very thin crescent moon.
The quick session lasted from about 17:45 to 19:00. I started this early knowing that it may be the last glance of Venus in the evening sky for me this year. Even knowing it would be very thin crescent, I was still surprised by how thin it is now. Spent a good 30 minutes on this, even though the view is not that great with very bad atmospheric conditions with objects this close to the horizon.
Then I moved up a bit to the moon, which also gave good views despite atmosphere interfering, especially at higher mags.
The last target for the night was Saturn. Deciding to spend more time on this than usual, also sketching Saturn with as much detail as possible, including the moons. Then after packing up I consulted Stellarium to find out which moons I saw, and it turned out it's exactly where I drew them (upside down since I have a dob ofc)! I saw Titan, Rhea, Tethys and Dione.
And that it. Thought I'd share my little bit of midweek excitement. ^.^
