So Ice, Toku and myself have been discussing The Changeling Civilization on and off for quite some time now, coming up with bit and pieces of what we picture their culture, and civilization to be, ranging from leaders to families, to bed bugs.

We've been trying to build our own take in order to step outside of the "Standards"

The average Changeling isn't a mindless worker, They have "Families" and their own allies outside of their own culture.

2:13 AM - Toku: now to think of some stuff changelings would have. time to read about ants and bees

2:17 AM - Thorax: One of the things I had was that there was three levels of "Royalty" starting with Chrysalis (Queen) she was the first Changeling (Can take the form of ANY creature) , at somepoint in time in she fell in love with pony and the results were the first Changelings who lacked the same purity of Chrysalis, however obtained enough of the Pony Essense to take their shape.

2:18 AM - Thorax: Second level would be the Changeling "Princess" who rules in the name of Chyrsalis in all outlining hives. When they hatched they had more of the Changeling Essense than the average Changeling giving them further magic potencie and more direct connection to Chrysalis

2:19 AM - Thorax: Final level would be the "Brood Mothers" several Changelings capable of well...... populating the Hive for lack of better words.

2:21 AM - Toku: makes sense. a lot of insect groups do that

2:22 AM - Thorax: When a "Batch" of Changelings hatched they'd then be sorted through by size and magical potencie and then placed with a "Family" of roughly the same Class and that's how their position in the hive is decided. The larger ones are Soilders, Smaller ones are Drones and given the lesser tasks in the Hive.

2:24 AM - Toku: sounds like you got most of the general class structure thought of, and would make sense with the whole brood mother thing

2:24 AM - Thorax: However higher ranking Changeling would not have a Superiority Complex as everyone of them serves a specific roll in the Hive, meaning without that one Changeling the whole thing fails.

2:26 AM - Toku: what i was thinking, was that changelings could feed off of any actual emotion, but good/positive ones are the most "filling" it explains why they would want to feed on love, but if desperation hit, they could try to take over canterlot and feed on their fear

2:34 AM - Thorax: Would "Don't let the bed bugs bite" in the Changeling world be ironic, or probably more deadly?

2:34 AM - Toku: either ironic or really sultry

One of the things I was thinking, would be Chrysalis having several trades with other species.

For example she would trade herbs and plants found only in the Hives to the Zebra in exchange for their excess magic.

Chrysalis would trade gems to the "Diamond Empire" (Diamond Dogs) for their excess magic

She might even have some secret trade routes with smaller Pony towns and villages.

What I've learned?

- I don't have the attention span for war

-Kublai Khan is a pansy who will hide till the very end

- Egypt wasn't ready for me

- SEVEN HOURS OF CIVILIZATION 4 MAKES ME WANT TO AS TOKU WORDED IT

"you're ready to rip your wings off"

Never again...

Fun fact: I'm pretty sure I wrote in one chapter that Discord hates cake.

So what are your opinions on Nibbles? I mean, you haven't seen much of him yet, but Ice, Toku and myself have been bouncing ideas for him around and I'll be honest, he's probably one of my favorite characters already.

When ever he's in the story, Sombra won't be too far behind, or vice versa.

He'll also be appearing with Sombra and possibly Chrysalis much more frequently.

During my week away from Fim and while I was writing it, I realized that out of everyone there, Chrysalis and Sombra felt like "Background" Characters, so hopefully in the upcoming chapters you'll be seeing more of them.

Possibly even together as some of you have assumed :L

Episode 21: A New Evil I hope you enjoy it. Personally, I had a lot of fun writing it.

It's was originally intended to be a Sombra only chapter, but then I lost control of it and something happened, that I didn't even expect.

Episode 5: No Rest for the Elements at a total of 4200 Words (Not counting authors note) This is possibly the second longest chapter I've written.

Today I actually made some real progress roughly 800 words worth, I've got a few sections planned out already (Mainly the explanation on how each of the mane 6 bit the dust. Remember it's been 200 years)

I've got a good few pieces of the ending sorted out (Celestia truly is the most evil creature in Equestria)

And I'm pretty sure there's going to be a full on war scene, probably, maybe not a "Full war scene" but there are going to be bows and arrows at somepoin- I've just decided Celestia get's shot in the butt at least once.

Either way, I just wanted to give you guys a progress update on what I've done so far, hopefully if everything goes according to plan, the new chapter will be done by tomorrow evening.

I had intended to get up today at 7AM and immediately start work on the new chapter for "Born to Chaos and Nightmares" However, I didn't actually get sleep last night thanks to a serious of really fun Nightmare that ranged from People randomly "Demon facing" Me and every possible fear I could have.

So now it's 2PM I tried to take a little nap, I've tried to wake myself and nothing.

My eyes are burning, my head is pounding and you know what? I'm gonna write this chapter even if it kills me.

Celestia shall invade the afterlife even if it kills us all.
