The TVH1 Drinking Game · 4:25pm
While reading any of my writing,
- Take a sip every time there's a spelling or grammar error
- Take a sip every time the story is in present tense for no apparent reason.
- Take a sip every time I self-parody or self-depreciate either in the story or the comments for that chapter.
- Take a drink every time I randomly segue into overly detailed descriptions of mundane things that nobody cares about.
- Take a drink every time I start a chapter with an overly detailed description of a mundane thing and then use that to segue into the actual story.
- Take a sip every time the word 'breakfast' is mentioned.
- Take a drink every time there is a breakfast scene.
- Take two drinks every time the breakfast scene takes up more than half a chapter.
- Take three if the chapter is literally just about breakfast.
- Take a drink every time a character is mentioned as having a hobby they don't have in canon.
- Take a drink every time I get distracted and start talking about whether a character prefers tea, coffee, cocoa or hot chocolate.
- Take a sip every time I respond to a comment and it includes the words, "Glad that you [enjoyed/liked/etc.] it".
- Take a sip every time I forget to pony-fy my words (feet instead of hooves, somebody instead of somepony, etc.)
- Take n drinks where n is the number of days more than a month that I haven't updated Fear in.
- Don't die from alcohol or water poisoning.
Oh, and you already need to take four sips at the very least -- this blog is a self-parody, and the word breakfast was mentioned three times after the initial statement of the rule. Have fun!

I tend to focus more on the output than the input, to be honest, so I don't actually have many story recommendations to make. ^^; Donny's Boy does good stuff, and occasionally makes story recommendation blogs; he's essentially the one who convinced me to join, so you might wanna start there. Ditto Steel Resolve. If you're looking for perhaps some less well-known writers (those two are often in the featured box for whatever they do, which some people have issues with; I occasionally make featured myself, so I can't really say anything), I'd say go for Professor Piggy; he doesn't have too many seperate stories, but A Study in Nonsense is a lovely collection that occasionally reminds me of my own stuff, and Twice Shy is perpetually unfinished but what's there is very good.
In terms of my own work: the recommended order is Kaleidoscope, then anything else. It's usually considered by far the best pony story I've done. Just don't read the comments, they're full of spoilers. Everything else is just idiotic shipping or comedy or comedy masquerading as idiotic shipping.
I always want to recommend Music since that was a story I really enjoyed writing, but it turned into a pet project so I don't have much professional distance on it. It's boring if you aren't into that kind of thing, basically.
And yes, we really must catch up. c:

Yeah, a friend convinced me to join recently, so I figured eh, what the hay. Being a newbie, any stories/things I should check out? Other than the fabulous stuff you have here?
And yaaaay you got it! I only half remember what was in there...I won't spam your page with conversation, but drop me a line some time or PM me or something if you like; we can catch up like modern-timey people!

It's so good to see you on ye olde interwebs again~ I didn't even know you were on the site. I'm so excite~ Totally gonna stalk you, btw.
Why hello good sir!
Was just perusing the site with the boyfriend and I was all "OH HEY LOOK I KNOW THAT USERNAME WHOA MAN"
Now that I know where you've been hiding, I'll leave you to your corner of awesomeness~ Just wanted to let you know that I miss you, found you, and may or may not stalk you/devour your stories.
*brohoof from across the pond!*

Hmm. Usually, I'm somewhat ambivalent about pairings that I don't think have much support going for them, and I don't like constantly looking for new things because originality of concept has never been as important to me as a polished execution of said concept, but since I'm recently back and I could use the practice, I might give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion-- a friendly word in my ear about what people want to see next never goes unappreciated!
If I might make a recommendation, write a Pinkie/Braeburn story. Make something other than the already common inter main 6 stories. You are a capable writer, and people like new things, so it couldn't hurt to try your hand at something other than inter main 6 stuff. And to fans of Vulpine Hero, please don't savage me in the comments. I am not hating, merely making a recommendation.
Kindly directly your mediocrity to this page, where you have been tagged in a ruthless display of kindness. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Don't worry about the name. I wasn't a user. Just a visitor that enjoyed it.

Hmm...ff net...Man, I don't remember anyone's names from that site, mainly because all I ever saw were plain text emails. Glad to hear you're enjoying my stuff, though.
Hello! I really liked Pink & Blue back on ff.net and it's good to see you on the site!
(The rest of your writing looks good, too btw)
