When in a first-person perspective, how does one go about writing in sound effects? My current method is to inject -SOUND EFFECT- in-between lines of dialogue. Is there a different way I should be doing this? (Besides having the narrating character constantly indicating it by saying stuff like, "And then I gulped." or "Did I just hear something crack?")
