Hey guys.

Core reactions is a fanfic that i started way back in August. It was done because i used to write annotations on a guitar website called ultimate-guitar.com (or UG as its referred to) on the Friendship is Magic thread.

This place. The community is extremely friendly here. I'm very much a regular user. Everypony knows each other and we've all gotten on like a house on fire. You're more than welcome to meet myself and everypony else there.

Everypony there really enjoyed the stuff i wrote and i had a ball writing everything that happened on those magical summer evenings. It was so strange. Before any of that happened that summer, i wasn't interested at all in writing, but everypony really thought i had a knack for capturing the imagination. They suggested i did a whole fanfic. I was nervous at the prospect ad writing an entire fanfic, as i was used to just writing to short annotations.

So obviously, this is not only my first fanfic, but the first piece of writing i've ever done of such significant length. So please play nice on my fanfic. I appreciate constructive criticism though.

So anyway, the fic itself.

This story was written based upon my personal experiences with friends and sometimes enemies. I really want to capture the feelings of all the characters. Keeping it intimate and at the same time, none of the actions everypony does not being out of character.

I chose Gilda for one of the main characters of this fic as i honestly believe that she's a good griffon. Just misunderstood. She is so aggressive towards everypony because Dash is all she has to protect. That was until the only thing that mattered to her slipped through her fingers thanks to Dash's new friends.

The inspiration for this work was through an old friend of mine called Marc. Marc is a very misunderstood individual. I remember back in the early years of school how we were best of friends, but then he suddenly changed. He bacame resentful and hateful. But then i discovered later on that the reason why he suddenly hated me, was because he hated himself. He was diagnosed with bowel cancer, which has a good chance of killing him.

Another inspiration was actually through the threadstarter of the Friendship is Magic thread on UG. PlaguePlaymate in particular. He told me one day that his dog died. I want to give him some advice that may cheer him up about his loss. This fanfic later on, has that message.

This fanfic is very personal to me. I've related the plot to my life experiences with major depression and anxiety. I have put hundreds of hours into the fic to get it right. Being completely new to writing,it has made progress painfully slow. I have recieved a lot of help from people to get the versions of the fanfic that you're all reading now. A common problem with my writing is that a lot of the sentences  didn't make a whole lot of sense. Most of the sentences on the first draft of chapter one of Core Reactions made very little sense. Thanks to lots of help from Silver Cloud, bassofthe and a few very notable others, this fic is getting to somewhat of a good standard.

I have to give a million thanks to those bronies for their help. They wouldn't have made it possible without their help and patience. I have poured my blood, sweat and tears into this fanfiction. Thanks to them, now everypony can make sense of it all.
