Cheers, Aye · 8:42pm
There have been many things I've been doing lately. A brief summation:
- Gleefully blowing up filthy Amarr zealots in my tricked out Tengu
- Killing raiders and tripping balls in an abandoned hallucinogenic vault
- Saving the earth from alien invasion with a team of specops motherf#%$ers
- Getting all my prep done to metaphorically rock out at Bronycon
- Getting all my prep done to literally rock out at the Symphony of the Goddesses
The attentive reader may notice, or indeed have pieced together due to a lack of notices, that writing isn't really on that list. And, indeed, little has been done. My total for the year has yet to breach 20,000 words, and it's mostly been due to a lethargic apathy that may or may not have been inspired by the end of Season 3 and the announcement of Equestria Girls (most likely not, but they also certainly haven't helped spark me back in).
Today, however, I am doing this:

I've some toasts to make.
The first, and foremost, is to you, mankind; for all of your ability to dream the most beautiful dreams, and perpetrate the most heinous acts upon your fellows, and everything in between. We're working on you.
The second is to ponies, for it reminded me of the former aspect of mankind when I was all too familiar with the latter.
The third is to Harmony, which as it turns out isn't such a kids' show idea once you think about it.
The fourth is to Celestia, because best princess, best Eternal, and the mare has it goin' on. (Also I may have a weakness for sun goddesses.)
The fifth is to you, fimfiction, and indeed the greater fandom, but it's you who I know best. You fellow authors, and you patient readers, heroes and warriors all. I write half as much for you as I would like, and accordingly you get to like me about half as well as I deserve. (That's how that goes, right?)
And finally, my last toast, assuming I'm still upright after that much scotch, shall be to Equestria Girls. For you were born under a dark sign, bred and raised to nefarious ends, and we know that to not be your fault. And so I toast you: that you may become unexpectedly awesome, or find a warrior's death in the attempt.
Oh, and I suppose I can mention that I wrote something last night. It's aloof, and meandering, and worldbuildy, and I like it so there.
Cheers, Aye.

Definitely feeling the sort of love "The View from the Window" gets tonight. Posted a new chapter on my OC story, and the net result?
A couple good comments (which were awesome to get), one upvote, one downvote, and I lost a follower. That, after Celestia knows how much work I put into the chapter. At least as much as my two really popular stories, anyway.
Stupid fickle opinion of the masses.
Hey, hey! Why the hell are you following me? Get outta my bushes before I call the cops!
Thank you so much! I'll do my best to continue to earn your attention!

... well dangit
I'll have to find some other pretense for gentlemanly fisticuffs
I've always thought it was a good idea
>>399254 It's not heresy, though; that's actually the stance of a fair few of we linguists.
Lots of dialects are superior to standard English; Scottish and Southern US Englishes with their amn't / ain't specifying first person, while standard English uses second person 'aren't' for first person as well, being another thing.
Ebonics also has a crapton of grammatical aspects that make it more complex than standard English, but "it sounds unintelligent", and so forth.
Celestia the Linguist!
I think y'all is a good addition to the English language, as it makes the second person plural less ambiguous!
Where shall we engage in fisticuffs for my heresy?
Whaddup. I'm totally not here to ask and/or bug you about a certain new fic of yours. Not at all. Nope.
Instead I uh...came to say hi! And...to ask how the pony drought's been goin for ya?
Yeah.
I have no idea of your taste in music, but I noticed this go up on EqD today. Unsurprisingly, I thought of Reverie.

I would read the heck out of that, no lie
>>349144 I'd make it a matched pair. "Chase the Sun", wherein some great risk is taken, and "...And It Will Smile Upon You" wherein that great risk is rewarded.
Either involving Celestia, or with her sagely commenting to that end.
>>349839 Erm...
I don't get it.
