Aawwww you're missing out, while the film isn't extraordinary by any sense, it isn't missing anything, it's quite the good watch. Every November 5th I give it a watch, even while deployed. I can't say if it's loyal to the novel, but it seemed close-ish. Highly recommended!

I like Garth Nix's books: Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen, etc. It seems like it could become an interesting crossover.
