If you're watching AbsoluteAnonymous, then you've probably read her last blog entry about getting your story into the Featured Box.

I actually thought the admins of the page read the stories and featured the ones they liked! Well, surprise! It's just a system that chooses stories to feature based on the views, likes, and faves they get, not on how good they actually are!

The conclusion was that writing some popular nonsense is the best way to get featured, regardless of quality. That ain't my style. My aim isn't really to get popular, but to use the whole phenomenon of pony fan fiction to develop my literary skills. If I get a group of followers, even a small one, that genuinely enjoys my work for its quality and respects me as a good writer, then my dream will be fulfilled.

I'm on the right track, then.

Now that my mind is no longer clogged by worry over that blasted Featured Box, I can write in peace. Thanks, AbsoluteAnonymous.

So, I promised a bigger story.

Yes, it will come, but not anytime soon.

Seeing the big writers around here can really get me down. How can someone get to their level?

I'm leaving the big story for later. Right now I have other, smaller stories to get off my mind. On the bright side, that might get me some more followers before Mistakes finally makes its definitive entrance.

The only thing that kept me from posting my next story was the lack of a proper image. A pic is on its way, but I was expecting to have it almost two months ago! Don't worry, I will wait for it no longer, but I won't seek EQD's sponsorship until I have the image.

Things haven't gone according to plan, so my new story isn't ready for posting yet.

What a disappointment.

To anyone that liked "Dear Diary, What am I?": That may have been the first fic I published, but it's not my first attempt at writing.

If you wondered "Who heard Discord's prayers?" and concluded it had just been the stars, then you are underestimating me. I you want to know what I mean, then you will probably be interested to know I'm working on a much bigger project right now.

The story is titled "Mistakes". Here, have a sneak peak at the description:

"The wind... it's bitter and cold. And the smell...

Something is wrong, terribly wrong.

There is a dark presence in this world. The Elements of Harmony should be called at once to stop it. But Twilight Sparkle and her friends must make haste, as even their glow seems to be failing."

It's going to be a long story. I'm not sure when I'll make the first post. If things go according to plan, then I'll make the post sometime this February. If they don't, see you in March.
