Eternity is a long time, especially if you're alone. And when you've turned your only real friend into stone, sometimes you have to make do.

Luna. Princess of the night, patron of astronomy and regent of the moon. And above all, nocturnal. Which is why it's a problem when the changelings disturb her slumber during the Royal Wedding invasion.

In the year 2018 AD (After Discord) Equestria finds itself in the grip of yet another tyranny. The Regent rules Equestria with her legion of iron hooved Clockwork Soldiers, and the skies are dark with perpetual winter and pollution. Pegasus magic is forbidden, as is flight, and unicorns reign supreme in Canterlot and elsewhere. Harmony is long since gone, the bearers scattered to the four winds and dispersed without a trace. The Princesses are nowhere to be found, vanishing scarce a day after the Regent seized power. Attempts to overthrow the Regent have been met with violence, and now nopony dares move against the Regent's wishes.

On the outskirts of Ponyville, three friends who used to be the Cutie Mark Crusaders find themselves in peril, and Scootaloo finds a mantle by which she can save not just her friends, but perhaps a little bit more...

Equestria needs a hero now more than ever. It's time that somepony stood up to the Regent again. It's time for Mare Do Well to rise once more, and teach another lesson in humility.
