Quick little update before I get into the main subject: Festival update is coming along, just trying my best to keep the next chapter from crashing and burning. This update is one of the more important ones.

That aside, I'm here to tell any fellow writers about the third monthly /fic/ off, found over on ponychan at this link.

It's a fun little event, wherein you get seventy-two hours to write a one-shot based around a theme that isn't determined 'til the contest actually starts. It's fun, it's good practice, and we'd welcome as many participants as possible.

The sign-up period ends sometime this Friday, and the event itself ends at midnight next Monday. So come all ye authors, click the link above, and have a browse. If you're interested, choose the name you want to enter as, and then ask them to sign you up with a post on that thread.

Hope to see some of ya join up with us. And with that, I bid y'all a good night.

If you sign up, you get to be this edgy!

Hoo boy. I was hoping to have the update done by Easter (and I hope y'all had a good one), but my cold got worse and took me out of comission for a couple days. I'm not quite happy being the person with a story you have to reread every time there's an update, but I'm going to be working on that. Anyway, the updates here, and I've got a new story coming once the site approves it. In brief:

-Festival update: Day 8, Part dues. Now that Twilight has (reluctantly) accepted the challenge, the duel is on. Which mare has what it takes to win the match, and find out the other pony's secret?

-New Story: Minotamed. Second place winner of the /fic/ write-off, I'm bringing it here for everypony to enjoy (and to maybe see if I can get it to EqD. Who knows?). It's still being submitted as we speak, so once it's out, I hope y'all will enjoy reading it.

Now that that's out of the way, get out there and read! Thank y'all for being so patient, big thanks to my editor, and I hope everyone finds the update worth the wait.

P.S. I learned that the weight used in a test-your-strength machine is called a puck. Ya learn something new every day.

    Quick Update · 6:20am

Bleugugh. Don't feel well. Quick update.

    1. Festival update is almost done. Just last part and editing to go. If I can get over this harsh cold, expect it in a day or two.

    2. Still need art help. If any artists are interested, send me a message.

    3. Expect a new story to go with the Festival update.

Sorry yet again for the horrible wait times, and thanks so much for being extremely patient. I'm going to try and speed up production from here on out, if I stop getting attacked by life/disease/ninjas. Have a nice night, everypony.

First things first: My computer was hit pretty hard, but things seem to be going fine so far. As such, it's finally time to get that update paved out. Expect a new Festival chapter within a week.

Moving on, I'm need a little help, if any fan-artists happen to enjoy my fics. I'm in need of a few original pictures (one I need relatively soon, one I need somewhere far down the line, and one that is completely optional). If anypony is interested in drawing something up, I'd be more than happy to give complete credit to any person that helps me out. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll provide details.

Once again, sorry for the wait, and I hope everypony finds the update worth it.

Trixie is ready to dazzle you all!

    ...wait a second...

So, yesterday, I decided to stop kicking myself in the rear for procrastinating and finally finish the Festival update I'd started. And then, bam, my computer's under attack from an annoying virus. Tried to fix it, but no, hadda send the poor thing away to the digital vet. I managed to save the story file (and various other important ones), so at least I won't have to start over. However, this is going to end up delaying the update a little bit more. My apologies for the wait, friends.

On a side note, I entered the second /fic/ off, which means I've got another story on the way. I might hold onto it for a bit to do some editing, but hopefully some of you might enjoy that. Speaking of the /fic/ off, y'all should consider assisting in the voting process over at http://www.fimfiction.net/story/15274/Double-edged-Sword. Most of the stories I've read so far are enjoyable, and it's worth the time.

Thanks for putting up with the wait, and thanks for enjoying my stories in the first place, everypony. Have a nice day.

    -From a borrowed computer, Silverquill

P.S. I will figure out how to include images if it kills me. TAKE THIS!

'Ello everypony, just an update. I've picked up someone to help me with Festival and, let me just say... they are good. Of course, it all depends on what it looks like when I write it out, but my confidence in the story is returning somewhat. On that note, I've been working on the story when I get the chance. Can't say I'm far along, but an update should be coming in less than a week if life doesn't drag me away again. I thank you all for being patient with me, and I thank my official idea bouncer as well. You know who you are.

On a different note, I entered into a short ponychan /fic/ write off awhile back, in order to ease back into writing. Surprise of all surprises, I got second place. As such, I'll probably be moving the story onto this account soon for everypony to look at. It's a oneshot ghost story, and I'll be honest when I say I have no idea what tags that would go under. Still, when I get around to it, I hope y'all enjoy.

Thanks for reading, thanks for enjoyin' my stories, and have a good day, erryone.

I was hoping to not have to post this until later, but I've heard rumors passing about that I've dropped Festival entirely. This is completely untrue, and I'll go into that in a bit. However, nopony's heard from me in awhile, and I do have news to share.

    Equestria Daily

First off... hoorah! As much of a shock as it is to me, my story managed to make it onto EqD. I'm just as surprised as you are. Sure, not everypony liked it, but it's an honor to be on the site in the first place. Plus, a couple people were nice enough to toss around some very constructive criticism. You people know who you are, and you have my thanks.

    Moving on...

    Festival

Ah, yes, the heart of the matter. Have I given up on this story? No. Am I having trouble? Yes. I'll make it quick...

-I've been extremely busy lately, and as such, very little time gets put towards the story.

-I've been looking over my plans for where I was taking the story, and to be honest, I have no idea what I was thinking. Maybe it's just my writer's doubt speaking, but I'm not liking it. As such, I have a request for any interested Festival fans: If you're opionated, eager to help, and don't mind spoilers, I'd love nothing more than somepony to bounce ideas off of (both old and new). Of course, if I can't find anyone, the story will still come, but I can't quarantee quality.

-My writer's confidence has been shot pretty hard. The Discord situation was, overall, a mistake (Yes, I have a reason for it that'll be revealed down the line, but in retrospect, it's a stupid reason), and I'm worried anymore bad plot points will turn the story from an above average tale into the slums. However, when this issue makes you force your viewers to wait a month for an update, clearly it's a problem. I'll have to brave it, and accept any hate y'all fling at me.

Is a new chapter coming soon? Man, I truly hope so. I'm planning on a new style, since somepony mentioned I was shoving too many details into each chapter. I've decided that while I'm sticking with the chapter = a day formula, I think I'll try dividing each day up (like what I did with the two Discord chapters). For instance, the next chapter I have planned will probably be at least two parts, effectively extending the story chapterwise (and allowing for more updates) yet keeping the length the same.

I'll admit, I'm bothered that I've left the story behind for so long. Hopefully, it'll have been worth the wait in the end.

    In the Meantime...

While I've been fretting over Festival, other ideas have been swimming in my head. I'm considering starting one to help practice/ease back into longer writing, but I can't decide which (if any) to try. That, my friends, I will leave up to you.

-A mixture between action/comedy, involving Apple Bloom's unfortunate situation of getting sucked into an undercover Ponyville crime ring.

-MLP/ One Piece crossover (seriously, I'm surprised nopony's done this yet) wherein the tale is retold with MLP characters, with original situations put in (and an underlying background story in the MLP universe told through intermissions).

-Several short stories, ranging from sad backstories to funny antics.

-These are all bad and I should feel bad. Try something else.

    All opinions appreciated.

    In Conclusion...

Can anypony even see this? Do blog posts even work? Guh. I'd appreciate if someone commented to assure me that people know this exists. Otherwise, I suppose I'll just add in a mini-announcement with the next chapter.

Anyway, thanks for takin' the time to read both this long-overdue post and, of course, my stories. You're all awesome, and I'm glad to have you all enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them. Like I said, if ya wanna help out with Festival's planning, shoot me a message, and any opinions on other stories are helpful as well.

    Good afternoon everypony!

Just wanted to put up a short blog post to point out a couple small updates:

-I'm taking a short break from Festival, probably no longer than a week. I want to try my hand at making a Christmas story... guess we'll see if I can make it in time.

-Festival is now, for all intents and purposes, getting updated as new chapters come. The only way I was able to keep the one chapter per two days rule was that I'd have a few chapters written in advance, and now my backlog's run out. Chapter's may still come every two days, or they might take longer, but in the end, I just really don't want to rush anything.

Thanks for reading, and for enjoying my stories. Happy holidays to you all!
