Just a suburb boy,

Born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana

Ok, that didn't work anywhere near as well as in my head. But I might as well keep it. Basically all you need to know about me is that I'm a talented writer with good ideas and a god awful work ethic. So, I'm sorry. Current projects include a Yu-Gi-Oh crossover I'm not sure I'll ever finish and a Godzilla crossover that will attempt to retain the spirit of both franchises. It's about as easy to write as you think.

Even if you don't intend to, the idea that Biollante would attempt to help G seems mistaken. All of the 'clones' of Gojira seem intent on making sure they are the one and only Godzilla.

So Heisei, huh? How early would you model him? I highly doubt that you'd use the Psychic idea as they did in the G v. MG2. Considering your earlier mention about some of G's abilities seemed 'over-the-top'. Ya obviously can't use him if he is closing to his meltdown stage, cause even if they prevented his full melt down you'd still be dooming whatever town he was close to.

As for his feeding tendances your going to have to explain how the ponies have such an extensive nuclear program, and why the Goddess' can't contain G. That, in and of, itself would be a monster duel.

This is obviously starting to enter the realm of spoilers and I understand if you would rather not continue this on such a public forum.

Anyway, the Godzilla for this fic would likely be the Heisei one, at least in appearance and basic abilities. As for Godzilla being a low-intelligence creature, I disagree somewhat, thinking of him more on the level of, say, a cat, at least mentally. That isn't exactly low, but him understanding certain complex concepts that primates can just doesn't seem appropriate. Now, in terms of Godzilla being a punishment for frivolous radiation use, it doesn't have to be intentional on G's part. G may just be searching for sustenance, but in the process he is both intentionally and unintentionally killing thousands in an ironic parallel to atomic bombs. This being said, G isn't being ironic intentionally, merely doing what his instincts tell him, which results in mankind suffering in a way only possible because we have been so careless with forces of such great destructive power. So, by that logic, we can have the best of both worlds with Godzilla. He is both an embodiment of nature's vengeance and an innocent victim caught in circumstances he can't hope to understand, merely survive or, more often than not, destroy. Thus we have a creature we can sympathize with while still hoping he meets his demise, or at least defeat.

While I do have several interesting steps the ponies will take in an attempt to impede G's progress, they will all be decidedly lethal, at least in theory. One of those measures will result in the obligatory monster battle between G and one or more spawns of Tartarus I haven't figured out the details of yet. Unfortunately, due to its role in the plot and the driving forces of said plot, it will have to be a Curb-Stomp Battle rather than anything too dramatic. Sorry. Just think of the potential Godzilla, Mothra, and Biollante vs. Grand King Ghidorah in the sequel. Spoilers.

I wrote that out and went back to check my VHS tapes.... Boy I feel really dumb:derpytongue2:. But, I can't change my mistake. :twilightblush:

if you see G as a punishment for abuse of nuclear power.

That was really his original theatrical portrayal,I prefer to see G as a low-intelligence creature with anger issues. Dude just wants feed on energy and be left alone. So what if that energy happens to be contained within a high population industrial district. He didn't ask to fight thousands of WMD's just to have a snack! :scootangel:

In address to the 'unkillableness' of Gojira, It ends up becoming less of an issue of killing and more of a search for an effective means of putting him down each time he appears. If you can't kill something you need to try an incapacitate it easily and readily until a permanent solution could be found. True, incapacitation won't be the first choice of most PEOPLE. You will probably have to answer why the ponies would even bother with lethal methods.

Also, just cause there is no known kill answer for G, doesn't mean that he can't be beaten by opposing monsters. Wouldn't be surprised if the answer to the nuclear meltdown in v. Destoroyah, would be that G jr. regenerates later.

Just curious, which generation of Godzilla are you planning to use?

>>378866 For someone who has seen every G movie, I find it curious that you are so interested in Plasma energy. The deus ex machina plasma reactor was only ever used in "v. Megaguirus." In the Heisei series (84-95) Godzilla is very explicitly stated to consume radioactivity to fuel his biology. Actually, I think that was the only series where they addressed what Godzilla ate (excluding TriStar's massive fuck up). By making Godzilla's rampage hunger based, the reader and the ponies both can't help but feel a little sympathetic towards him. Also, considering magic is, well, magic, and therefore completely unknown to us, I've come up with a clever little idea: radiation interferes with magic. The frequency at which the particles and waves travel away from decomposing atoms makes casting spells much more difficult (but not impossible). This can cause all sorts of fun issues. As for Godzilla's arrival in the pony world, my current outline is deliberately vague, although my previous one made it very clear that this was the Godzilla who was sucked into the black hole at the end of "v. Megaguirus." Anyway, I think a vague origin, much like in the original Gojira, makes the possibility of G's arrival seem more likely, even inevitable, if you see G as a punishment for abuse of nuclear power.

One of the things I really desperately want to get across is that this monster is not only a villain, but also a victim. In terms of G's intelligence, that is also something I think is best left vague, if only so I can avoid pissing off every fan who has a differing view. Also, while miraculous regeneration creates great drama and anxiety when the Big G is a villain, it makes any battles against opposing monsters a foregone conclusion. Godzilla can't die, so he's gonna win no matter what. There has to be a balance, where the reader is worried our heroes can't defeat him as the villain, but is also worried he might be defeated when he needs to play the hero. That is a very fine line.

Also, a LITTLE over the top? That was complete bullshit, IMO. I preferred how they handled it in GvMGII.

Sounds fantastic, however I think there is a little plot line on Big G that you might wanna reconsider and might actually add to your story. Godzilla isn't interested so much in Uranium as he is into Plasma energy. With Plasma you could talk all kinds of liberties with the magical uses of the stuff including, and not limited to, the incidental rift summoning of the G monsters.

G also seems to have odd intellectual boons that I can't readily explain myself. Ranging from actually holding alliances with monsters that fought him to baiting enemies with some Deus Ex Machina crap. I swear that magnetism field combined with insta-regen was a little over the top in 'Godzilla VS MechaGodzilla', 1974 release. Although... G's crazy regen ablities could allow you to repeatedly kill him like they have in the movies, only for him to come back.

>>377836 Assuming the project ever gets off the ground, it will definitely be Godzilla versus ponies. The majority of the story will revolve around Twilight, Celestia, and everyone else important trying to figure out a way to take him down. However, he won't be a complete monster, more of just an animal trying to survive, which unfortunately results in innumerable casualties. Whether or not characters recognize or acknowledge this, as well as how they respond to it, will be some of the driving pony drama in the later half. Regardless of any future plot changes, the finale will be everything Equestria's military has making a last stand at Canterlot, in a desperate attempt to protect the largest uranium reserve on the planet. Celestia and Luna will both be present and will fight Godzilla with their full power. IF it becomes popular enough to warrant a sequel, I already have a basic plot outline, revolving around Mothra, aliens, secret bio-genetic experiments, and Godzilla being pony kind's best hope despite also having the record for most murders by a single sentient being. Fun, no?

I love Godzilla, watched all the movies ... even that terribad Americanization attempt. I just wanna ask how you would plan to portray him; as the Antagonist, Protagonist, or something? While I have always seen it as a cliche 'Bug Bunny' model, I always found it quite amusing at the variety of methods that were used to try and kill big G. I liked that he(she?) would always regenerate regardless of the damage wrecked against him.
