So there's been an awful lot of drama this week. Drama which matches or even surpasses the whole Derpy thing--to the point that even the folks at DHX itself have been getting a lot of flak just for being involved, which is a first. This makes me a bit sad, and confused. Confused, because I just don't see the big deal. It's a spinoff idea to try to expand the brand. It's like the Rescue Robots for Transformers--a side project that exists to bring the brand over to a different fan group than is the norm and has no real effect on the show proper. It's not like, say Fighting is Magic, where we had something awesome going on and then lost it. It's just an extra little something that probably won't be for everyone, but is just in addition to the show we already have anyway. I'm sad because there's that 'entitled fan' mentality that I hoped wouldn't enter the Brony community. That mentality that, somehow, the show runners 'owe' us for being fans and anything done against our expectations is some kind of deep and personal betrayal. I guess it was inevitable that would start to happen--the Bronies have gotten huge over the last year and a half. I mean, we got Hot Topic merchandise. It's actually become cool in a nerdy sort of way to like FiM now. So it's just the way of things that the 'undesirable' type of fan would rear their ugly heads, I suppose. And, you know, the Bronies as a whole are still the awesome guys I joined to hang with. During this same week of drama, Bronies for Good has been recognized as a non-taxable charity and has been celebrating with some cool swag. And for every loud and obnoxious fan out there causing undue negativity, there's at least twenty cool guys who basically take things that come in stride. Maybe it's time we get just a little louder ourselves--not to argue with the jerks, feeding the trolls never helps anything--but just to, for example, let the DHX people who've been hurt by the bad outcry that most of us do appreciate the hard work and still love what they do, even if this particular project isn't our thing.
And, besides, am I the only one who saw that new trailer and thought, "gee, this actually doesn't look bad?"

Glad you like it. Also, I'm glad I found someone to share my fanfics with--it's a bit harder to share fanfics at a con (compared to, say, visual art) without coming across as a stuck up jerk.
And, yes, a bound version would be awesome!
Thanks for introducing me to your fan fictions at the Crystal Mountain Pony Convention. I am really enjoying it. I may not be done reading it yet but it is really good so far. Also I will probably bind A Friend of the Night it for you. My email is pkchutrainer@gmail.com if you are interested in contacting me about sending you a copy of it in Hardback... If you don't mind that is.
Thank you!

Well, I do wish you luck. If you're really that nervous about it, I would be willing to give it a looksee before you try publishing. Having an editor does wonders on story improvement.
>>280505 I've tried writing before, And I think if I were to write a story, I wouldn't immediately start out on something like that.
You've given me a push into my impulse to write and attempt to publish, (something none of my friends managed to do) I had been contemplating for quite a while, And while it isn't my grammar I'm worried about. It's my dialogue, I can make a scene pretty good (Says my few brony friends but can't really work in the talking right. etc, etc, I'll do horrible, etc, I'm gonna start writing a story that had been floating around in my head for ages and have many idea for. Not gonna say much now, but it is titled Wanderlust
Wish me luck!
No, seriously, I really feel like I'm gonna get crushed with downvotes and just give up completely

Hmm...here's an idea--and please don't think I'm being snarky, sarcastic, or anything like that. This is a legitimate suggestion--since it's a story you want to see so much, to the point you seem to want to think up the scenario and everything, why not try to write it yourself? This is a site of creation as much as it is reading. That's what led me to write Friend of the Night, a desire to see a good fanfic that combines some of the old fanon Luna ideas with the canon one (as seen in Luna Eclipsed). Not seeing much in that regard, I wrote one. If you're not comfortable with your writing abilities, I'd be more than willing to pre-read and help you along. I do pretty good at that. Ask ZeroCore. But, as I said, I'm actually kind of reaching the end of my Doctor Who writing phase, and am wanting to move on to other FiM stuff after I'm done with Storm of Chaos.
>>280201 Sorry, I can't really give more then that, I've had a splitting headache almost all day and no amount of Aspirin or Ibuprofen will help.
Tomorrow I'll probably be able to give you a small plot summary that could work out.... I thinking Autons for the alien if they get involved.
And instead of humanoid, its equine and they don't have 'hand' guns and use the unicorn horns instead.

Hmmm... It's a funny idea, but I'm gonna need to have a better idea than just "her reaction to ponies would be funny." Also, after I'm done with A Storm of Chaos, I'm going to take a break from Doctor stuff and write something a bit closer to the actual show canon, I think.
So Mister Writer Person, Do you ever think you would write a fic involving Donna?
I don't think I've ever seen one involving Donna on this site, I think her reaction to ponies would be priceless.
