Equestria, the shining utopia of peace and friendship, the perfect place for a lonely guy. At last free from all the drudgery of a world which extols the euphemism "nice guys finish last". Now powers of the dark, gifted from Selûne, are mine to command.  And though I hold elemental darkness within me, this does not make me evil. I have so much less to hide than these creatures that cling to their lights, unable to see it's beauty.

Though when the worst horror they can imagine is a shambling oaf that turns the land into a checker-board they may not be up to the challenge of facing true evil, even with godly powers. While some things may have been a little weird while Discord was out, nothing really life threatening happened. One particular Earth pony (Screwball) is actually depressed over his re-incarceration. She wants Discord to return to the world so she can experience a little bit of actual magic for herself. And she plans to experience it again.
