A Year of Bricks in The Wall · 9:51pm
So today, the 8th of April, is the one year anniversary of Bricks in The Wall.
I had hoped that I would’ve been done with this by now, but however much I try to organize my life à la Twilight Sparkle, I can’t always plan for how long writing stories will take me. Funny thing, when I began writing this, I actually intended to get a chapter out every week. I managed to do that for the second chapter, but after that, I never managed it again.
Of course, today isn’t the anniversary of the day I began writing the story. That would be sometime in December of 2011. It took me four-ish months to write out the first chapter of this story, which was arguably the hardest to get right, considering its ambiguous plot and connection with the rest of the story.
I had hoped to get the first part of Chapter Sixteen out by today, but I didn’t. I kind of lost interest for a while after I finished the Nobody Home chapter and didn’t get back in the groove until it was too late. That, coupled with Spring Break, took up a lot of time that I maybe should’ve been writing the next chapter. So, hopefully, barring any more delays, Part One of Three-ish of Chapter Sixteen should be out sometime before April is over.
I had briefly entertained the idea of an April Fool’s joke chapter where Pink would be woken up by his wife complaining that his particularly fitful nightmare was keeping her awake. He would then go on to tell her that he had a dream where he was a rock star, but everypony he cared about left him.
I would’ve written it, but I was too lazy and couldn’t get the right feel to it. Meh.
Anyway, everything is coming along swimmingly, and the next chapter should come out soon, unless I once again get distracted by something else.
