Hi, everyone.

It's been a long, long time.

I've dealt with some stuff in my life and I thought about maybe picking Social Standards up again.

My main fear is that my followers and readers HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED and because of that, have ceased to care.

I really want to pick it back up again, but I have no reason to if Social Standards holds no more interest in anyone. My main plan was that I would change lives. That's what I plan to do. It's what I've done, and I'm happy to do it, but all of it is so meaningless if no one recalls or cares to recall what's happened thus far. That's my own fault.

Can I just have a comment from everyone who WOULD continue to read SS if I picked it back up again?

I am seriously finishing the SS update AS WE SPEAK.

I'm so sorry to all of my readers for the delays, it's been really, really wacky and I'm very lucky to have such an accepting audience like you guys.

As of now, Social Standards is officially off hiatus. Thank you for your patience.

That being said. If you are attending Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, I have news for you. I'm also going. I know I probably sound like a pompous fool who thinks too highly of herself, but the truth is that I'd really, really like to meet some of you guys, if you're going.

I have a four-day pass, so I'm totally willing to check up with some of you.

I'm cosplaying as Pinkie Pie for several or most of the days, and I'll be alongside my friend, who's going to be Rarity.

There's a cosplay gathering going on at 2 PM the first day, (July 12th) specifically for MLP: FiM.

That being said, there will also be five or six other Pinkies.

If you're coming, send me a PM or go ahead and comment and let me know. I've run into people who read my fic IRL before and honestly it was pretty damn weird, but it was also really fun.

Anyway, the update should be up soon.

The absolutely amazing and fabulous Dalken Starbyne is a good friend of mine, and I asked him if he might be okay with reading my favorite bit of dialogue from Social Standards as Soarin, and, (because I don't imagine him with his canon voice at all, mind you) it came out sounding absolutely perfect.

I just thought this was really cool and wanted to share it with you guys.

Let me start off by saying, I am SO sorry to all of my readers.

While Social Standards will be continuing, my life has been nothing short of hectic these past couple of months.

My computers hard drive completely fried, I had to have it replaced, and since I didn't have the Win7 disc, I had to go out and install an entirely new OS onto my blank hard drive.

I've been dealing with state tests, AP tests, and and what seems like project after project.

Beyond that, I have a social life to keep up with.

The time that I don't spend sleeping, eating, showering, at school, or studying, is taken up by going over to my friends' houses to try to wash away the stress from the week and catch up on sleep.

I certainly have not forgotten about Social Standards and I still have the story planned, but I'm going to put a hiatus tag on it.

Allow me to repeat that.

I AM CONTINUING SOCIAL STANDARDS, AND WILL PUT A HIATUS TAG ON IT.

THIS WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR SO.

While my summer WILL be hectic, I will try to squeeze in the occasional update. I'm dealing with a theatre training camp, my boyfriend coming to town to visit for about a week or so, San Diego Comic-Con, (I got four day passes, actually) possibly visiting some old friends, and trying to relax and not worry about taking the classes I will be taking next year and how much worse that's going to get.

I will say, however, that working on my schoolwork as opposed to other things has brought my GPA up by 1.2 points. I now have a 3.76 GPA, and I'm very proud of my hard work thus far.

I'm so sorry for the procrastination and how I keep delaying the date. I lost what WAS written of the last chapter.

As my school year winds down to a close, I may be able to fit in adding little chips to the chapter and eventually coming out with SOMETHING, but I'm placing a hiatus tag on it because of the delay.

SOCIAL STANDARDS IS NOT CANCELLED.

I'm so sorry for the delay, and the next chapter will be worth your while.

As I said in my last blog post, I'm really, really, really tied up with an acting competition at CalState next weekend, but I'll try to pound something out in the next week and a half. My editor is the most awesome, flexible person ever, so there's that.

Uh, so, okay. Here's the deal.

I initially postponed Chapter Nine of Social Standards because I'm writing a oneshot for my boyfriend's birthday. (It will be published March 7th, if everything is timed appropriately.)

The thing is, I have auditions the same day for a production of Mark Twain's Is He Dead? (Cecile LeRoux, here I come!)

And then I'm leaving for CalState Fullerton for an acting competition.

Seriously.

Like... two days later.

I can try to get something out. I repeat: try.

I refuse to put out something with my name on it that's crap, though.

Anyway, I won't be putting a hiatus tag on it because after the ABSOLUTE LATEST you can expect to see an update is March 19th. I repeat, this is the latest. I'll try to get something out earlier. I completely forgot I was invited to come compete at Fullerton. (I need to memorise my two monologues )

I'll be actively working on the chapter at a really slow pace.

Social Standards is by no means cancelled!
