First off, FIMFiction is awesome, simply saying.
Let's face it folks, when it comes down to it, nothing makes a show (in this case a cartoon) greater than a multi-talented, creative, and ever growing fanbase. It was the reason I started to watch the show. Sure, the first pony content I found was memes and the like, but I'm a pretty simple person. Show me enough pictures of bacon, I'm probably going to either make some or convince someone to make me some bacon. Same as with MLP:FIM. I was a late bloomer with the whole show (It was mid-second season) but I soon was caught up with the hype and greatness of both show and fandom. I dove into all the information I could gather about the show, including what made it so popular among individuals of my age range, the voice talents, the song lyrics, and yes even the fandom-made stories for the background characters.
What really caught my eye, however, was the amazing talents of those who made PMVs, artworks, and fanfics. I couldn't possibly see myself ever making a PMV (not enough knowledge on program stuff) or artwork (My stickfigures have the visual appeal of a dead fish in a blender). Writing a story, however, was something I could see myself getting into. I view myself as a creative guy, but to go and create a story that would be entertaining to anyone other than myself.....crazy madness there, and you're reading a blog written by a guy who drove 2.3 hours to go to Trotcon in Columbus, Ohio. Trotcon was awesome, by the way, haha!
So I did what any nervous and over-sensitive guy does, I simply observed this outrageously cool site, soaking up some of the greatest fanfics of MLP:FIM, slowly gaining some much-needed confidence in myself and respect for those who have wrote stories and posted them here. As an added bonus, I was amazed by how people gave constructive notes than just complain, even if the story wasn't the best by either storyline or grammar.
Soon ideas for fanfics attacked my mind, simple ideas that morphed into some crazy awesomeness, let me tell you! I need just a bit more time planning on a good storyline before I throw my writing skills in the madness.
Thanks for the read, and hopefully I will finally give a small contribution to a great and funky fresh fandom.
Sincerely,
Original Confusion
