Ever since Twilight Sparkle was a young filly, she realized that if she wanted to become a truly great wielder of magic, she was going to have to understand the rules behind it. She created the Axioms to help herself, a short list of laws that allow her to take incredibly convoluted problems and bring them under the domain of logic. Even though she is lacking in raw magical strength, the Axioms have propelled her to being one of the most powerful unicorns in Equestria. But when a new villain with incredible magical power and undoubtedly sinister intent enters Ponyville and begins attacking her friends, Twilight's magic alone won't be enough to stop her; she's going to have to go back to the basics. With the life of her friends on the line and the unraveling of Equestria itself on the horizon, Twilight must use the Axioms to their fullest potential to destroy this new threat...as long as they don't destroy her first.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: So yeah, I have some pretty big motivation issues with this story. College has been pretty hard lately, but that's hardly an excuse for taking six weeks to write one chapter. I think part of the problem may be that I've mapped a long string of 10k+ word chapters for myself, and the chapter milestones being spaced so far apart has caused me to just not feel like writing. I've attempted to rectify that by breaking most of the chapters into smaller chunks, starting with the previous one: chapter 2 has been split into chapters 2 and 3, and chapter 4 is new as of this update. I really do hope to write more quickly in the future, and hopefully the shorter chapters will help me with that.
