I didn't feel this was worthy of it's own story or chapter since it's really just a short blurb, but at somebody's prompting I decided to give a little bit of prologue for the latest episode. A few paragraphs looking at Celestia's thought process as she decided to have Discord freed and reformed. Without further ado:

“Eternity is a lonely thing,” Celestia mused. She stood in the palace garden, staring at the petrified form of Discord. “Years can pass in a blink, nothing ever stays the same. Those we meet and grow to love always fade away. The only constant companions are those few who share our curse.” She laughed softly to herself. “I’m probably boring you. I imagine I always have with these silly little talks. You probably have a dozen little quips running through your mind and yet you can’t speak a word.”

Sighing, the Princess sat beside the statue. “These last thousand years have been rough. While my sister is now free to stand beside me again, her imprisonment still haunts us both. There have been none whom I could truly open up to, none who would keep constant throughout the ages as we do.

“I do not believe you are a lost cause, Discord. There are too few of us left in the world to afford that kind of thinking. I need to know that you can put aside our differences and work beside us rather than against us.” Her gaze lingered on the statues shocked expression, a perfect picture of incredulity cast in stone. “I’m entrusting you to them. If anyone can find the honor in you, it’s them. They won’t like it, but they’ll do it. They have to. Eternity is a lonely thing. Even lonelier if spent in a cage.”

News came down from the top today, I am no longer an Equestria Daily pre-reader.

I'm a little sad about it, but they weren't unjustified in their decision. I have voiced some pretty strong disagreements with some of the ways the blog is run in the past and my activity as a pre-reader has been low as of late. While I am no longer a pre-reader, I am still happy to take a look at any fics you folks would appreciate solid, professional-sounding feedback on.

Remember all that stuff I said about switching to lighter material? Yeah... just pretend like that hasn't happened for now. This idea was too good to stick on a shelf.

I am in the middle of writing a new fic centered on Rainbow Dash and based off of a short story written many, many years ago by H.P. Lovecraft. No, there won't be any tentacle monsters or aliens or other spooky, creepy crawly things. Expect love and loss. And before you ask, no it has nothing to do with Solis Furta.

Will try and have something up soon, not sure if this will turn out as a one shot or in three parts.

To all seventeen or so of my watchers, thanks for giving me the time of day.

I know there probably isn't anybody reading this, but I've come to the decision to stop pursuing grimdark and heavy, dramatic pieces in my writing. I know Solis Furta has gained a bit of a following on here, but if my latest two serious fics (one of which as seen in the recent contest between /co/ and Ponychan) are any indication, I'm just not that good at it.

I'm happy to announce that I will be turning my writing attentions back to lighter, fluffier stuff like Porcelain Secrets and Pony Feathers. I have a Doctor Whoof fic that needs finishing and have even been given the opportunity to audition for a writing position on Squeak's radio show!

If demand is high enough, I'll continue Solis Furta. Until then, expect a stream of diabetes.
