When you publish something, you're putting a piece of yourself out there, something that you keep to yourself in your daily life. So people tend to get overprotective when it's shot to pieces. But  to answer your question; yes, there is such a thing as loving it too much.

Hi i just read your comment on the lecture about originality saying that if you give your story love and attention it will bloom. is there such a thing as giving it too much love and attention... kind of like an overprotective mother smothering her child. or is it a good thing?
