That's probably for the best, and there's really nothing keeping you from switching the tag once it reaches a point with more adventure than slice-of-life, either.

You are most welcome! I hope that you'll jump right in and enjoy the stories and the community here on the site.

Aye, thank you very much. I hadn't noticed the response button :twilightsheepish:

I'm going to go with the adventure label over the slice of life one (as conflicting categories it is indeed impossible to select both on the same story). The story will develope to fit the "Adventure" label but on the way there, there is a lot of build-up, introductions, stage setting etc. that would fit to the "slice of life" label better.

Do me a favor? If you want to "talk" to someone, the only way to be sure that they get the message is by hitting the "Reply" button on the message that you want to comment on. It is the little box in the top-right of each comment. It looks like two little arrows: ">>" If you hit that, it sends a notification to the person who made the original comment, letting them know you are trying to have a conversation with them. I'm glad that I stopped back, or I would not have gotten your message!

As for your question, try clicking on both. If the site doesn't prevent you from selecting both, then go for it. Your story approver might ask you to chose one or the other, but they'll only do that if they think it is necessary. It's quite the debate as to is some tags exclude others, and there's no real agreement. In the end, you'll find that your narrative does favor one aspect over the other... just go with that one. I hope this helped!

Thank you very much. You make me feel welcome
There is one question I have right away. Do the tags "Adventure" and "Slice of Life" always exclude each other? In a sense the story I am started to post combines the two. While the story will pick up on the adventure part a long part of it also covers daily lives and matters in Ponyville.

Hello there! Welcome to FIMFiction.

If you need any help figuring out how the site works, don't be afraid to ask. I'm always happy to help, and we're all glad that you are here!
