These are my favorite stories so far. I want to write each one a recommendation, but they vouch for themselves. They aren't the only great stories here, but I feel that they deserve special promotion (except TTEoAP, I think it's slightly famous). If you try Kindred Spirits, give it a few chapters before judging it; the early chapters can be as weak as the later chapters are phenomenal. FPV is triple distilled transformation trauma and is pretty much crack to me, so if you like the trope go read it NOW!
