Some ponies say that living well is its own reward. But there comes a time when living well is no longer reward enough. Originally written as a submission for Prompt #51 of Thirty Minute Pony Stories.

Rarity and Pinkie Pie never spent much time together by themselves prior to getting lost in the desert. But now that they have to struggle to live, through the heat, the lack of water or food, and of course their roiling emotions, these two ponies will find there are much deeper secrets to be discovered, that surface impressions don't always give them the real story. And maybe, just maybe, they didn't know each other at all...until now.
