Hey, in case you didn't know, there's a Friendship is Magic based game out for Android devices.

It's the thousandth summer sun celebration, and Nightmare Moon has returned! The ponies fled ponyville in a panic, but The Faithful Student remained behind! Draw the other ponies back to the town, gather the elements, and activate them!

The main point is to collect 'shards' of each element so you can activate them and take down Nightmare Moon.

In order to achieve that, you have to manage your resources and expand your town to include the shrines dedicated to each element, while getting new buildings and shops to make more bits. It's actually very well made, and is a very great buy for the wonderful price of free. Perhaps the best part for those of us who are busy is, you only have to check it once in awhile. Although, if you want to spend awhile playing the minigames, that's fine too.

For those of you who wish to play the game (or are already playing), I'd recommend making a GameLoft account. Some ponies require heart crystals to unlock, and the only way to get those is to have friends.

... but why do we spell Cadance that way?

Her full name is Mi Amore Cadenza, which basically means "I love cadence (or musical rhythm)".

Since this is the case, shouldn't her nickname or given name keep true to the original, and be spelled Cadence?

With the most recent episode, we learned that turning somepony into younger/older versions of themselves is cannon.

This. Is. Amazing.

I think this is the first time an idea I've had has actually been used, coincidentally or not, by cannon.

In related news, I'm heading to Indiana Friday afternoon to help deal with the extended family's second divorce, and I'll be back just in time for college to start, so I won't be on FimFiction much during the road trip. I had meant to mention this in the previous news post, but I thought of it after I'd already posted.

Hey y'all.

Just wanted you to know that I'm putting Ponies of the Night on Hiatus for two reasons; The first and foremost being that my life has been hectic - my extended family has been involved in two divorces, two surgeries, and a move, and I'm only halfway through the schedule.

The other reason is that I really hadn't planned the story at all, and my creative muse for writing it has mostly dried up. I don't think it'd be fair to keep you waiting for short chapters with month-long waits.

Another thing i wanted to say was that my ideas for stories i could write have been piling up, and I was thinking that I'd see which you'd want to see written most.

So, here's the choices:

Extended Longevity:

Twilight calls her friends to watch as she tests out a new spell designed to allow the effected a longer longevity. But when it goes horribly right, how will she deal with the consenquences? Will their friendship ever return to how it was before? [Comedy][Slice-of-Life]

Inspired by the picture on Friendship is Magic: The Adventures of Spike. Spike decides to pursue a career as a lawyer after seeing the workings of the court. Partly Mostly based on court proceedings in Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice.

The Mistakes We've Made:

A traveling unicorn mare makes her way into Ponyville. Despite Pinkie's best attempts, the mare seems distant and lonely. Will she open up to the Magic of Friendship? Only time (and the author) can tell. [Sad][Tragedy][Slice-of-Life]

What Ties We Make:

Unbeknownst to her, Twilight Sparkle's time has come. A not-so-random encounter with a stranger has her forcefully dragged away from the land of the living to the afterlife. Missing her friends and wishing things could be different, will she be able to get one last message to them? [Sad]

The Makings of an Alicorn:

Princess Celestia calls the Elements to Canterlot, promising to tell them how Alicorns are born. They don't realize, however, that she's going to give them an example. [Horror][Dark] (Closest tags i can use.)

This latest chapter of Ponies of the Night feels a lot longer than the previous ones. Maybe it's because there's a lot of description in a quiet, non-verbal area. There's nothing like a peaceful, quiet setting for some depraved, dark actions.

Since I'm already running out of things for him to do this chapter, and I've made it my personal goal to write at least 1,500 words per chapter, I think I might have to introduce the other vampire sooner than I expected....

Actually, I might just ratchet up the suspense a bit. Now i'm not sure what I'm doing. But that's okay.

Hello,

Just wanting you all to know what's going on with POTN.

I had somewhat painted myself into a corner with the last chapter, as I was unsure where to take the story from there. I've dealt with my writer's block, and I've started writing the next chapter already.

I'm going to try to string along the suspense about who the other vampire is. I hope I don't write the upcoming chapters badly, but if I do it would be nice to have some respectful statements so I know, and I'll rewrite the chapter to fix whatever wasn't up to par. If I can't find another way to get what I want across, I'll just end the suspense and you'll all get a name to remember.

Whenever that happens, though, don't think it's over...

The next chapter for Ponies of the Night is about 500 words out of 1500 or 1/3 of the way complete. Sorry it's taking longer than usual, but I'm trying to get it done.

Let me say that, when I talk and write, I like to be short and to the point, so actively trying to keep something from the reader, like who the other vampire is, it takes a lot of thought and effort for me.

The next two or three chapters will give me plenty of practice, though, so i should get better. Hopefully.

Hey everyone...

I have about seven projects going all at once right now, in addition to helping out around the house and doing college work. Oh, and reading tons and tons of fanfiction.

That said, some of the projects are inspired by other fanfictions that I've read, which I hope doesn't make them seem like I'm copying others. Even though basic features may seem the same, I have my own ideas and interactions that i'm trying out. Sometimes, though, it just gets stuck in a kind of development hell, where i just don't like it how it is, but I don't know exactly how I can change it for the better.

The rest of the projects are stuff from my own head. I need to plan these out a bit more, as i'm having trouble placing everything in order... One of them is a one-shot I recently thought up, and I plan on getting that up here shortly... as soon as I get it written.

With all of that said, I've begun the process of releasing the first chapter of a fanfic, which should give you a sample of some of my... more acceptable work. I'm not going to call it perfect, because it never is, at least as I see it. Hopefully it'll all work out, and I'll be in business...
