The first was a 1000 word trade that obviously grew beyond that, the second for the Everfree contest, which had a 3000 word limit. I agree with both of your criticisms wholeheartedly. Might I ask whether you found Changeling tickled your funny bone?

If you're looking for critique or criticism, this is what I thought: The Twilight one was cute, but the Chrysalis one seemed a bit busy, like it was trying to do too many things with too few words. In addition, the settings could have used a little fleshing out. A few more details about where the characters are, maybe--a backdrop to the stage, if you will.
