Kidding aside, I think I'm hanging it up.
I've been training my writing chops like crazy over the past few months and managed to get something published by my university. I can't describe the high. So, I'm writing with the goals of graduate school admission and publication of my short stories.
My only story hosted here, "Thrum", is bad. Sure, it's a little interesting, but it's riddled with errors, both typographic and stylistic (-ly adverbs? Really?). I'm certainly a better writer now than I was then, but I don't feel the motivation to write small horse fan fiction. With a few years of dedicated work, I could live off writing original stories, what I once imagined could only be a much loved hobby.
The story I'm pushing through right now deals with altered states of reality, so perhaps "Thrum" made some sort of subconscious imprint on me.
Thanks for the friendship, all.
As a farewell, here's the Dallas theme, but with Small Horses.
