"...Britannia looked down the tunnel with resolve as dust settled on her polished helmet and blackened her pristine white cape. She should really leave her uniform behind, it would only be a hindrance down here in this cramped dark place. In fact, why didn't she just call for the other guards rather than diving off into the unknown with no light and no idea who she was facing?
"No, she thought, on both counts. She was a Guardian Warder of Her Majesty's Royal Treasure Vaults. She had been entrusted with ensuring the security of the Princess's treasures. It was in the oath she'd taken when she'd grudgingly accepted the role and when she'd been given her uniform. No matter who or what had dared to steal these sacred artefacts, it would be up to her and her alone to bring them back..."
In this, the second volume in military journalist, Carbon Copy's Unauthorised Biography of the famous soldier and adventurer we uncover the truth behind the event that shook a city and catapulted the young officer Britannia into the searing glare of the public eye.
For years the Equestrian public has thrilled to tales of her journeys to far off lands, the ancient and powerful artefacts she's recovered and the perilous missions she's undertaken in the name of Princess and Country.
But what of the Mare behind the Myth? What of her hopes and fears? Her trials and triumphs? and her loves and losses?
Find out in this epic tale of one mare's quest for greatness..."
-Quotation taken from the 1st ed. of Britannia: the Unauthorised Biography, Book 2: Britannia and the Crystal Maze by Carbon Copy, military correspondent for the Canterlot Globe.
A fanfiction written in the style of an Equestrian biography of dubious credentials based on Britannia: the pony mascot for the Brony UK Convention. You may laugh, you may cry, you may be thrilled or, possibly, you may just be confused. It's probably because of all the British-ness. Just pour yourself a cup of tea, butter up some crumpets and enjoy.
Comments and critique are very much appreciated. I want to go somewhere with this.
My thanks for the fave and the comment on my story!

Well it's the one story. And I think it is in the 'I just want a comment' group
I can sympathise as my 'to-read' list seems to get longer everyday. So much talent on this site
Are those in the I Just Want A Comment group folder? I can put them in my read list if they're not there already, though. Just be aware my read list is pathetic and way too long for its needs...
Oh, I'll definitely get to reading Holy Hoof Grenade for title alone.

Sorry, no. Just uploaded and submitted and after the necessary time had been taken, up it was. No real fuss aside from editing out some formatting errors in the translation from gdoc.
I hope you can get your work up but, not having dealt with this kind of issue or knowing if you're doing anything wrong, makes it difficult to advise. Hopefully gdocs will work

I just tried that and it still didn't seem to do anything. And I thought EqD was a frustrating system!
I'm going to try deleting it and reuploading it as a googleDoc from the get-go. If this doesn't work, do you know how I can get a hold of a mod or something?
>>110410
Well I googledoc'd HHG and didn't encounter too many errors. Maybe copypasta will work? It's not the most straight-forward of processes.

I've been trying to get TLaT and MoDM up, but every time I try to upload it just doesn't. It doesn't give me a 'something derp happened' or anything, there's just nothing posted beyond the description blurb.
Any pointers?

Thanks for the pointers. Grammar in dialogue has always been an issue never quite rectified up until this point.
To pull a bit of a Nightmare Night Twilight moment
"finally, someone gets my obscure Victorian literature reference"
I've had so many people asking about that name choice and the best I can do is point them in the direction of Alan Moore.
By the way, if its world building you like then the latest blog post should give you some major indications of the direction I'm heading.
Also you should put your stories up here so I can fave them
Hey there! Just wanted to give you a head up when I had put together my account.
Your story is great so far, interesting world-building with the R.E.E.F. (also, I loved the Allen Quartermain reference)
Grammatically you seem to be doing quite well, the flubs being few and far between enough to be easily ignored.
But still, if you want to have the minefield of grammatically correct dialogue mastered, I think you should check out EZN's Guide, it really put me on the right track (although I've been too lazy to edit TLaT and MoDM)

Good luck, remember to have fun as you write!
