That'd be Sunny Harvest, part 3!

Haha, no no, I am going write that story eventually, but I have a few other projects to get through first. Also I should probably edit the previous two a bit to make them a bit less terrible.

Also add a little chapter on the end of To Live, Love, and Forgive. Mainly because my brain won't shut up about how easy it would be to make Keep Calm And Flutter On work in the strange universe my stories occupy.

Let's get to what I'm supposed to be talking about already.

First of this story would be about a human finding his way into Equestria. Not a brony, just a simple human who's never heard of this strange colorful world. I wouldn't put much explanation as to how he wound up there, mainly because that's not the point of the story.

The point is that he brings something through with him. A book.

A book that's NOT the bible. That's territory I don't want to get anywhere near. The book he brings through would be a book I'm a big fan of, The Book Thief.

I suppose Twilight would be the first to find him collapsed on the ground, unconscious. She'd be a bit curious of him, but all her attention would be taken by the book clasped in his hand. She'd pull it away from and start to flip through it so the first thing he sees upon waking is a purple unicorn trying to read his book.

Quite a surprising sight to many I suppose..

You'd have the regular freak out, calm down and explanation of where he was. She'd probably take him to the library.

Then they would talk about the book. He'd start to explain what it was about, but Twilight would interrupt him.

"No no no, don't spoil the story for me! I just want to know what language this is!" Because while Ponies may speak English their written language is not the same.

    Because magic, or something.

Now this human absolutely adores this book. He thinks it changed his life and is the greatest thing ever. He wants everyone to read it, everyone to understand it the way 'he' does.

So they eventually come to the decision where he'll read the book to her and she'll copy it down. Twilight is just so excited because she will be the first pony to catalog something written by another race from another universe entirely.

Only as they go through the story the human has to explain things to Twilight that he'd...well, rather not.

Since The Book Thief is set during World War 2 it talks many of the happenings of the war itself. And while it may be assumed that ponies know about murder, killing, and perhaps even war, I don't believe that they would understand the amount of killing in the war and the reasons for it.

The human knows how hard it is getting to continue reading, so he stops. But Twilight can't make herself stop. She sneaks the book out at night to try and puzzle out the language. She can't leave it alone, a story when started has to be finished.

Along the way the human understands how you can't really base your life around one book, that you can't offer it to someone and claim it will change their life for the better. Because sometimes it won't.

I don't know whether they would finish the book or not but I figured it would be a unique story to write.

But I won't...because I just wouldn't be able to do it right.

So that's the story that will never be written.

Well would you look at that? I finally managed to post a new story to the site! Guess that means I can finally talk about things that have literally nothing to do with ponies at all.

Okay, if you're still here I'm going to tell you about what I feel is a really amazing game known as Alter A.I.L.A.

It's got a fairly basic plot. The well known post apocalyptic world ruled over by a tyrannical dictator. You take on the role of a prisoner known only as "Blue" who is forced to battle terrible monsters everyday for the entertainment of the masses with 8 other prisoners known by various other colors.

However a day comes that finally gives you a chance at something wonderful, freedom. Rebels attack the base and in the confusion Blue escapes with two other prisoners. Who these two are is decided earlier along with which path you'll take in the game.

    Rebellion: Fighting the evil empire.

Imperials: Joining the empire to destroy the rebels.

Independents: Just leave it all behind. Run away somewhere where you can be left alone.

The stories are simply great to play through with what I feel to be greatly fleshed out characters and no part of the game feels like it drags on. Not even the sewer level bit, the type of level that most gamers hate beyond belief. Also, if you find yourself disliking a path, there are certain points in the game where you can choose to join a different group. An interesting device I rarely see in games.

The graphics really aren't anything special, as you can see here.

The combat wasn't very difficult either. With a few good guns and the rights characters nearly ever battle in the game becomes a cake walk.

Does anyone say cake walk in real life? Think I've only ever heard that phrase in books...huh...

But this was all made by one guy in RPG maker, which isn't known as the greatest system for building games. Hell, I remember using it back in middle school, thought I could be the next great game builder...

    Oh man I was stupid.

Getting back on track, this guy most likely put a ridiculous amount of man hours into a game that would bring him no money what so ever.

Once you beat all three storyline a new one is unlocked. This final path answers quite a few questions ignored by the previous ones and throw in a very interesting plot development. Most importantly it actually explains the title of the game.

Does it ever bother you when games have really cool title just for the sake of a really cool title and it plays literally no factor in the story? It bothers me...

Anywho, it's a fun game, it's free, and it should keep you entertained for several hours...

And to keep you entertained for several more-

That's right, an updated re-release of Alter A.I.L.A. with the little addition of Genesis on the end.

This game has a radically different fighting system that requires actual strategy to win. If you just want to shoot at the boss and win, you're gonna have a really bad time.

It gets rid of the multiple path system for one main story which leads to much more character development. The music is top notch and once again no level ever really feels like it drags on for too long. Unfortunately it's pretty obvious the author had some serious burnout by the end of the game and several aspects of the story are never explained. Like the back story of the main villain, which was actually in the first game.

    It also looks pretty nice.

Plus, there's quite a bit of after game content that does the best it can in messing with your head. One place known as the Orbital Prison raises SO many questions, and the fact is they will never be answered. Still makes them fun to think about though.

This was simply a game I stumbled across a few years ago and I am so very happy that I did. I suppose that if I ever did one of those "Person from game/movie/book universe shows up in Equestria" it would be for this game. Not only because it would be fun to write but because I bet I'd be the only writer picking the Alter A.I.L.A. universe.

I started replaying the games so I figured I'd talk about them, so there you go. Check them out if you find yourself bored one day.

    Alter A.I.L.A. : http://rpgmaker.net/games/268/

    Alter A.I.L.A. Genesis : http://rpgmaker.net/games/272/

In my next post I think I'll talk about my story idea that I will never ever write.

    Thanks for your time.

And music, you know it's not me posting if I don't put any music. A nice little tribute song for one of my new favorite games.

And I don't think there was a single moment of it I disliked.

Yeah, figured I'd throw my own two cents about the whole Twilicorn thing.

First off I really wasn't worried about it. I didn't think her becoming a princess was a bad choice, it honestly felt like it had been foreshadowed very well by this season's writers. I wasn't sure exactly how they were going to pull it off but any doubts I might have had were blown away by the episode.

It just had so many great moments spread throughout and while they have been a bit rushed, that didn't stop them from being fun to watch. Every member of the mane 6 got their own chance to shine, and even Celestia got her own song and silly burger king crown!

    Just look at that thing.

It really just seemed like the creators gave everything they had into making this episode great. That's my opinion at least. From reading comments on EQD or other sites you could almost make the assumption that I'm a minority with this view.

So many other fans seem so ready to label season 3 as the most disappointing season so far. While I would have loved for there to be more episodes, I enjoyed everything presented this season, except maybe Spike At Your Service, but no season is perfect.

Overall, this season really had a different feel compared to the others. One and two seemed more focused on slice-of-life episodes, with two having a bit more of an adventure feel. Season three really seemed more about building things up and moving forward. You've got Discord being redeemed, Rainbow Dash being accepted into The Wonderbolts, Scootaloo being accepted by Rainbow Dash, Cadance becoming the Crystal Princess, and of course Twilight realizing her destiny.

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into things, who knows? We'll just have to wait and see what sort of developments await us in season four.

    I'm excited.

Hope you enjoyed my ramblings, or at least weren't insulted by them.

I think I'll give you a sillier song that usual.

“...So everyone should be capable of at least a little.”

I'm going to be talking about one of my favorite books now.

I've talked before of my number one book ever, "The Book Thief" a little, but that book I picked up in the library after someone recommended it to me. I expected it to be something great.

This book I grabbed merely on a whim because I thought the cover looked good. Yes I literally judge books by their cover, it's a tactic that has served me very well in the past.

    It did not disappoint.

Anyway, the name of this book is "The Dream Maker's Magic" and it takes place in world similar to a pre-industrialized earth.  As in, people travel around by horse drawn carriages and people rest at 'inns.' Yeah, I'm bad at describing that sort of thing...

But one thing that makes this place very different are the sorts of people that exist in this world. The two main ones are Truth-Tellers, people who cannot let a single lie pass their lips, and Safe-Keepers, those who when told a secret will keep it hidden forever and nothing can be done to extract it from them.

These sorts of people are spread throughout the world but there is only one of the last, the Dream Maker. A person who, by simply being around you, will make your dreams come true.

This book follows Kellen, a girl who doesn't really know how to live her own life. Her mother swears she was born as a boy and is constantly expecting her to change back. I suppose that may sound funny, but it really isn't. She is trapped between wanting to please her mother, to make her happy, and being who she was meant to be.

Of course...she isn't sure about who she's meant to be quite yet.

She befriends a young boy name Gryffin who has been crippled since birth. The two of them are obviously wise beyond their years, having quickly lost their childhood innocence, and the book follows them as they grow up. As they see the world and their own lives change around them.

As a book simply about life, with a few grander elements thrown in, it is a great read. Everything about seems so realistic and true, and it treats the adults through the story as people with their own problems to solve. No one is truly perfect, everyone is human....

Everyone is capable of kindness, of a form of magic.

It is one of those books where reading it will simply make you happy....

There you go, a random review of a good book.

My next story should be up by the end of this week, and here is a song that may have influence on a later story of mine.

Fifty thousand is a lot of words, I don't think I ever expected To Live, Love, and Forgive would ever get that long. Funny how things work out. You'd think after all that I'd take a short little break from writing, at least a few weeks right?

    Wrong.

Right now, I've got around five stories ready to write bouncing around in my silly head. One of them actually involves Spike as a main character, which I think should be very interesting to write.

I wonder what'll happen when I finally run out of ideas...that will be a very interesting day indeed.

Back to my finished story, did you know that I actually had a 100% happy ending planned out since the very beginning? But it just...didn't work. It made the rest of the fic seem pointless, it wasn't really a fair sendoff. Of course, because of it I bet people now want a sequel to the sequel.

Eh...if I ever write that, it probably won't be for quite awhile. I think I will let Sunny rest for now.

Did you know I never really intended for Pinkie to become as important as she did in those stories? It just sort of happened, I guess Pinkie really is that powerful. And this picture/background I found of here really raised how much I like her.

I believe that is all for now, have a song of mine that I enjoy. And yes, I know that their name is odd, really doesn't have any bearing on their music.

One day I think you'll all realize the my blog posts are merely my way of spreading my varied taste in music.

    Till next time.

Still more than an hour to go and I would like nothing more than to lie down in my bed.

I suppose while I have the chance I shall wish you all good luck in the following year. May it be better than this one. Full of good friends and good memories.

Perhaps I'll even write some stories for you. I'm guessing that's a prediction that'll come true.

Will they be good? Well that's my resolution. Write some stories that are worth the time spent reading them. All of you that follow me deserve good stories.

And to those writers that I follow, I'm looking forward to the works you may produce in the future.

    Until next time...

Edit: Oh my, I forgot to put in music. I really must be tired. Have something from a favorite movie of mine.

The day is over. · 6:35am

At least in my silly part of the world. Christmas is always a wonderful day for me, full of great presents and wonderful family.

Always got to love that family.

I hope everyone had a great day, even if you don't celebrate Christmas. I'm sure all of you deserve a day where you can just relax.

Stories are currently being worked on and I hope to either have a new chapter or a new story up by Saturday, I will not leave you loyal watchers waiting.

There are so many stories to tell, so many worlds to build, so many lives to see played out before me...

I cannot simply leave them behind.

    Silly song:

So now that finals are done beating the tar out of me, I can work on the next chapter of To Live, Love, and Forgive! So no new chapter this week...

Man, I hope the end of that story comes around soon, I really never expected to go on for so long, but we are reaching the climax of the story, which hopefully means an ending will be just around the corner. I've got a few stories already planned out, a couple are the same shtick I usually go with, but there is one thing that actually focuses on a member of the mane six! No OCs or Princesses or nothing! My head might explode just from writing it!

But until then, enjoy your holidays, be happy, and wear some silly hats, cause that just brightens everybody's mood.

    Sad comic...

    And some music...

First off, I never really expected to write a sequel in the first place, which was why I wrote multiple endings to the thing. It was only at the very end that I came up with an idea of how to move forward with the story. And even then, the idea keeps changing.

Let's see...writing the sequel was like ordering a pizza because you're hungry, only when the pizza arrives it's around three or four times larger than you expected, and you just can't let it go to waste, so you need to eat it all. And that's not the worst part, this is some sort of strange magic pizza that randomly changes in size, and the the toppings continually rearrange themselves, change, or disappear entirely.

And then, all the people you you expected to watch you eat the pizza don't show, instead it's just a handful of them. It's not really a bad thing, it's just unexpected. Also, new pizzas keep showing up, smaller ones, but they look just as delicious, if not more so, than the giant one you're currently feasting on.

But darn it, you've started this giant magic pizza and you're going to finish it no matter what gets in your way.

...yeah, I think that gets the point across rather effectively.

I love rambling, gives me a break from real writing, at least for a little while.

And since you came here to read my silly rambling, guess I share with you a couple ideas that didn't make it into the first story.

    - Sunny/Death would have met with Princess Luna and talked about her time on the moon. Luna would have shared the same sort of feeling of watching the world around her with no control over anything that happened. Thought of putting her with Celestia, but that just seemed to take away from the scenes. I'll write something for you later Luna.

    - Obviously, scenes with other members of the mane six. That was my first idea, but it didn't really fit with the mood of the story. The mood where Sunny wanted everything to be simple, like those 'transported to Equestria and meet the mane six and everyone is friends yay' fics, but no matter what he did, nothing would seem right. Twilight couldn't help him understand friendship, and Fluttershy shook his foundation with a simple question. Throwing the other characters at him would just seem like padding.

    - The big one was that Trixie was going to have died in the first fic. Twilight or some other pony would have brought her up in idle gossip and when Sunny asked about her name he would coolly announce, "She died..." It would have forced the mane six to think on their actions, how fragile life can be, and if anything they could have done might have saved her. That was a rather big topic, and I wasn't sure I could cover it properly. Also, I wished the main focus of the story to be on Sunny, not the mane six. Also, with the sequel, that turned out to be a pretty good idea after all.

    So there you go...happy song.

Very very long, but well worth the read.

Hum...I guess I should write more than that.

I recently finished the rather well known fanfiction and I'd have to say it is a great piece of the work that the author Kkat obviously put their all into. Is it 100 percent perfect? Well...not in my eyes no. There are parts of the story I disagree with, mainly how some of the romances developed. But that's really just my personal preferences and many people may find enjoyment where I didn't.

I think what really makes the story succeed is that it's not just Fallout with ponies thrown in instead of humans. Kkat took the Equestrian world and shaped it into something like Fallout, but incorporated the mythology of Equestria into it to make something truly unique.

Another reason I really enjoy the story is how it has inspired so many other authors to try they hand in recursive fanfiction. One of the most popular of those being Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons. I have tried to read that story as well but...

I made it eight chapters in...and I really couldn't bring myself to continue. Not because it was too dark or bloody or anything, I've seen far worse things than that fanfci, though not many.

The story just came across as...a parody. It just seemed to ramp everything from the original up to eleven. The first chapter has murder and rape galore from an invading group of raiders. Then in the next couple chapters a filly is ripped in half by ghouls. I just couldn't take it seriously. Ah well...

Of course, this has to lead to me wanting to write my own story in that universe, because my brain won't ever let me have anything resembling a break. I already have ideas for a plot and I think some very interesting characters. But that doesn't mean I think I have enough to make a good story. Some authors, when they try to make a story for this universe, tend to stumble and simply make a story about Fallout, only with ponies, which ruins the whole spirit of the original fanfiction.

And then there's the killing joke. Everyone wants their characters to run into a patch of that terrible plant. If offers a chance for some interesting scenes with great character development. But you need to have a reason for your characters to head into the mutated Everfree Forest, which is hard to do with the forest being one of the deadliest places in the wasteland. Or you've got to think of a reason for why the killing joke would be found outside of the forest.

Either way, writing a great story for Fallout Equestria requires quite a bit of work.

Doesn't mean it wouldn't be worth it though...hurm, well that's my silly rambling for this subject. Hope those that read this got something out of it.

Have some music. this time something different from my usual fare.
