Naturally, I deleted the update post-haste, but my laptop had already begun to show symptoms of this update.
Within two weeks, I couldn't even re-install the drivers for my wireless adapter which this update messed up. I was pretty sure I was going to have to re-install Windows, as more issues starting cropping up, and a talk with ASUS tech support confirmed this. Today, after backing up all my files, I did so, and now my laptop is running fine, and I'm in the process of putting all my programs back in.
But I missed something.
My music, videos, and pictures were all saved, but I somehow missed the entire My Documents folder. As I had migrated that over from my old laptop after buying this new one, that folder represented everything I've written over the past six years.
And now it's gone due to a stupid oversight on my part.
Not even sure how I feel right now...

I'm still partway into Chapter 3, and it just isn't setting the tone I want, so I keep redoing it. At this point, I probably shouldn't try and offer an ETA, given I've missed all the ones I've set so far. :3

I will be taking a hiatus from writing for a while, although I do have a few story ideas in my head that I wish to play out.
