Wait... what!?
So I was busily working away today (finished fifteen minutes early today because the team is awesome) and the topic of 90's nostalgic television came up and as it deserves to be, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a big talking point. I tried to argue that Xena: Warrior Princess was better, but they weren't having it. Anyway... One of my friends started talking about one of her favourite episodes and she's like, "Oh, it was the one where all the characters are singing, I think it's a musical episode. What was it called?" I look around to see nobody knew and I'm like, "It was called Once More, With Feeling."
The thing is, I've never seen that episode and the only time I came across it was when I was thinking up titles for my RariTavia story. The name came into my head, so I googled it to see what it was and it turned out it was the musical episode of Buffy. I just thought that was pretty weird xD
Also, it seems I now have 98 followers, which kinda works out in my favour I suppose. I can freely work on the fic without worry again. (Over 5000 words done and the story can be seen as winding down) so yeah!
So after a few months of patiently watching the follower count creep from 90 to 96, I decided to reward my loyal followers with a "100 follower special" fic. I started it the other day, (the one I talked about in my previous blog about getting 2500 words down in one day) and wouldn't you know it?
4 followers like that. *clicks fingers*
So whilst I do technically have 100 followers, you guys were too hasty to let me finish the darn fic! So y'all have to wait a little longer before reading this silly little piece of work. Either way, thanks a bunch for getting me to 100 any way!
I actually managed to write over 2500 words today. In just one day!
One day!
For me that's like running a marathon. I only really stopped because I really need to go to sleep, I still have more things to write. Progress!
This is pretty much just to get the other blog post off of the top of the list.
Although I have been considering writing a quick second person fic for fun lately. Just to see how it would go over. Second person fics are popular, so if I write one, will the universe break? Will it be like a cat landing on it's face? Toast landing butter side up?
Maybe.
Probably.
That feel when you only just realise that the idea you had for a fic ages ago and only just got around to finishing the first chapter of is pretty much the same plotline for the very latest episode.
I mean, it's not Spike and Applejack (actually it's about as much of a crack pairing as my soon to be released Nurse Redheart/Photo Finish fic) but the premise is pretty much exactly the same. Therizzen can back me up on this one, he's already seen it. I am actually thinking about just releasing the first chapter now to gauge people's reactions to it. So if you like the idea of a fic that involves one pony saving the life of another and the latter pledging themselves to the former, then I might just do it now (or whenever it would get past moderation at a sensible time for the various American Timezones aka, the best time to have a fic released to get views)
How does that sound?
Or maybe you've never read it before, but either way, do I have a treat for you!
Today, someone linked me to a site which translates all the text on a website into "gangsta speak" and whilst there is a lot of swearing, it is honestly one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.
You can find the translated fic here!
If you can spare a few minutes, spare it for this, because the world needs more laughter.
I had a dream where a fan of my work found me in real life. (I'm sure in the dream, the reason for them finding out that I am Earl Grey, incredibly obscure MLP Fanfiction writer, was perfectly legitimate. I don't remember what is was though) So anyway, they found me and told me that they liked my writing, I was really happy about that, but then they got kinda aggressive and started asking me why I haven't updated Friendship is Music, why I haven't done this or why I haven't done that or why I haven't published anything in a while. They got kinda in my face about it and that's all I remember.
Gee... think my brain is trying to tell me something?
In response to that, to anyone who likes my writing but wishes that I would hurry the fuck up already and do something, I'm very sorry. I'm just very slow and suffer from focus issues.
I just have a lot of projects to do and new things grip me and there's also my drawing that I want to keep up with (I really want to be somewhat competent as an artist) but I have done two pieces of writing lately. That Blossomforth piece for The Album collab and I've also finished an entry for a Randomised Shipping collab (it just needs checking over or something, I forgot how this one will work out) but it hasn't been posted yet. So watch out for some Photo Finish x Nurse Redheart coming your way soon.
There might be something else a little more... adventurous... but it's still in it's planning stages.
I was writing a quick scene with Luna and Celestia and it got me thinking about the ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE. I've seen a lot of fics in which Luna talks fancy at ponies and uses the royal 'we' and it makes sense. However, I've seen people write scenes in which Luna talks to Celestia and Luna still uses the royal 'we' and sometimes even Celestia will chide her little sister about her anachronous mistakes. This doesn't make much sense though...
And I quote: "...but this is the Royal Canterlot Voice. It is tradition to speak using the royal 'we' and to use THIS MUCH VOLUME WHEN ADDRESSING OUR SUBJECTS."
See that capitalised section? Sure ya can, people love caps. Luna wouldn't dream of using the royal 'we' or to raise her voice to Celestia.
Just a heads up, pony writers.
There was this big Collab thingy that went on a while ago and I took part!
It's called "The Album", you might have seen it in the featured box once or twice, or in the list of most popular fics on the side of the front page. Essentially the plan was to write a short, slice of life story that wasn't about an epic adventure or a great romance. Just a snippet of a pony's normal day. Each author got to pick one pony and write something for them, I got there pretty late so I couldn't pick the Mayor, but I got someone pretty cool if ou ak me.
Some of the entries are really interesting so you should all check it out.
The entry I wrote was for Blossomforth (the white pegasus mare from Hurricane Fluttershy) it's right at the bottom because I posted my entry I little late xD
