Those who follow me on dA know to never think too much about what I entitle these things. Sure, I can channel genius and name a luna moth "Copernicus", but at the same time I have entitled a guitar song "Fuckin' Seaturtles". The only thing you can take home from that title up above is that you should damn well know who Kate Bush is!
THE ACTUAL REASON FOR THIS JOURNAL STARTS HERE!
Well, buck my apples, this is an unexpected turn out. Diplomacy hit the ticker, spiked in popularity, and the overwhelming consensus is screaming "MOAR!" (and that one guy who's threatening to break legs if I don't make more, so keep an eye out who you're standing by).
Okay, okay, so while reading over all of the saccharinely adorable begging hawks and sad Pinkies, I did sorta kinda come up with an idea for another fic in the ISotS series, following after Diplomacy.
That sound you just didn't hear because this is the internet but you probably imagined it now that I said it is the cry of jubilation from more than a few readers.
However, it will not be following the Twilight-Discord shipping.
That equally silent sound you just didn't hear was the manifold death threats being mentally beamed at me. Luckily my particular kind of brain damage makes me immune to psychic threat, lest my eyes would have melted "Raiders of the Lost Ark" style.
Anyway, the new idea would follow Discord adjusting to normal regular boring ordinary boring pony mortal boring life. And messing it all up. Sound fun?
Don't get me wrong, the DiscoLight will still be implied. Hay, I fully intend for them to still be together in this follow-up (but in a responsible couple way, not in the "making out while our friends try to eat their meals in awkward silence" way). But if you're looking for date two or more in the ways of heavy romance, well, that won't be the focus.
Which brings me to another point.
If you'd like to make a continuation of Diplomacy following the first date, I not only support the unofficial creation of such a thing, I encourage it! I will make a blog highlighting it even.
I like seeing what others can do when given an open concept. That's half the reason I have open endings! It's not so I can pick them up later, Princess no, but so that you can take the inspiration and make your own with it! Know how I got in on writing fics? Sure, I'd like to pretend I sold my soul for a golden quill that could turn my very thoughts into scrawled emotion, but that's tragically not the case. Also, who uses quills anymore? Or even paper? Ugh. Anywho, no; I read a fic and went "I like the concept of that story, but what would happen if..." Yes, it's pretty much that simple.
This also extends to art. Somepony mentioned wanting to draw the kiss scene. That would be awesome. I would like that.
Heck, we're all in this fandom because we saw an awesome show, someone else's work, and said either "gosh, I love the characters and idealism of the show!" or "Now make them kiss..."
...
Also, sorta kinda writing a PinkieShy (FlutterPie, either or) fic.
