To be fair, it was all planned since Chapter 2 or 3, so more than sequel-bit, it was more of continuous narrative. Granted, the Epilogue was indeed the sequel hook, but Chapter 20 was meant and written as a bittersweet/tragic ending. That is because the story is a tragedy, which means that the opportunity for a happy ending will be missed.

It's probably the first 'bad end' I've pulled so far, as I like to follow John Lennon's "it's only the end when everything's alright". However, "Actually, i'm Dead" was also a self-imposed challenge to do things I'm not used to, which meant that I had to build the story up to an ending that couldn't be unambiguously good.

Right now i'm working free hours to prepare the official announcement of the sequel, "I, Monster", in the form of a blogpost. There I'll give a more detailed depiction of the plot as also the new tones and themes present. If nothing stupid happens (which will, now I said it out loud), the blogpost should be up by between Friday or Sunday.

Finally, thanks the world for sharing your thoughts. This tale wouldn't be the same without the readers to interpret it.

I quite enjoyed it! The ending, while blatant sequel-bait and rather bittersweet, was still reasonably fitting. I was quite surprised as to Discord's fate in that last chapter, but I'm sure that you have schemes in mind for him and Trixie alike, once the sequel is properly begun. I look forward to said sequel, and once again I thank you for this evocative tale of life, death, and transformation
