You hit that pretty much on the head.
The Carnivore's Prayer is deeply informed by a pair of deployments I went on with a special operations task force. Salvation isn't so much about PTSD as it is about the survivors of a war and the families of the dead – there are thousands of families in real life going through what Rainbow Dash is in that story.
I don't think I'll ever write a straight-up MLP story featuring a war. Wars just don't fit the MLP universe very well. I'd rather write about wars using symbols or metaphors.
TIG is a great story, though.
I've noticed your serious fics tend to have elements of war in them.
The Carnivore's Prayer is sort of like how shocking it can be and how little you really understand it.
Salvation is your PTSD story, with characters using sex to cope with emotional trauma.
Even one of your favorite stories is about war, The Immortal Game.
Being deployed overseas 4 times I wouldn't be surprised.
So is there a chance that we're going to get a straight up war story from you?
Goodness, I love your bio. I seem to quote it to myself when I'm reading a lot of the time.

Yeah, and I don't mean to be persnickity, since "surplus" and "surfeit" are kind of like "flammable" and "inflammable" for me. I just automatically assume they're antonyms, and I have to think VERY HARD to keep them straight.

Huh, yeah. I meant to say 'dearth.' Not sure why that came out instead.
Should stop posting while I'm tired, I guess.
sur·feit
/ˈsərfət/
Noun
An excessive amount of something: "a surfeit of food and drink".
I should read the story because it has too many views?
You became 10X cooler for having read House of Leaves.
Gods I love that book. I wish my loaned out copy would come back so I could read it again
Hey.
Just finished reading The Wind Thief (which I greatly enjoyed) and was wondering if you still work on the sequel or if it's been discarded.
Thanks for answer.
I've reread Salvation three times. (I like to reread.) It's my favorite Romance Tag anything here.
and you know what I was thinkin' 'bout? When Rainbow reads "High Flying" and how my heart broke the first time I read that.
It's one of my favorite poems, was before I read Salvation, and when I read it now I hear someone else's voice reading it. It's not like the show Rainbow's voice. It's older. Subdued, still a hint of that scratchy-voiced kid left, but not much. Every time I read those lines, I see that scene again in my head and hear that voice.
