Twilight Sparkle had been looking forward to a quiet, relaxing day with a friend, and at first it seemed that Fluttershy could provide just that. But when Twilight makes a rather unsettling discovery about the pegasus – and her unusually sanguine appetite – the knowledge proves to be anything but relaxing...More Less
The back of this slim volume reads as follows:
On winter's nights, when cold winds blow outside and ponies everywhere huddle around the fireplace, friends and family often pass the time by telling stories to one another. Many of these fanciful tales have been told and re-told for generations, and the most enduring ones have become immortalized in folklore as pony tales.
My brother and I have travelled the land, gathering many of these stories, and now present this collection for your entertainment. We hope you find them as interesting as we did.
~Scarlet Quill, of the Quill Siblings
Most of the pages are blank, but as you watch, neatly-penned words begin to fill the first few pages all on their own. Already, one story has completed itself. It appears to tell the tale of the First Changeling...
(Partially inspired by LadyMoondancer's Gobbling and Other Traditional Pursuits. More short stories may be added later as new chapters.)More Less
What does it mean to be truly Immortal? If your body is everlasting but your mind is not, is it worthwhile to have a lifespan that exceeds the Universe's?
Philosophical questions aside, the former princesses of a long-dead land find themselves trapped in an endless void. With nothing to do but wait, how will they fare with the countless eons ahead of them?
Basically, think Waiting for Godot... with ponies... in space. (Don't bother to ask how they're able to talk, though.)More Less
The unthinkable has happened. A new Draconequus has emerged, apparently intent on plunging Equestria into chaos once more. To make matters worse, Pinkie Pie is nowhere to be found, forcing Twilight and the others to scramble to find a way to defeat this new threat without the Elements of Harmony.
After strange dreams, Pinkie Pie awakes and finds herself in the body of a Draconequus. Between strange new powers that she can't control, and, for some reason, an inability to communicate with other ponies, Pinkie finds herself alienated from her friends... but finds help from an unexpected source.More Less
In this behind-the-scenes explanation of the Mare in the Moon incident, follow Nightmare Moon and Princess Luna as they encounter strange, artificial beings from another world. A Portal 2 crossover. Contains two stories:
Of Cores and the Alicorn: After what seems like an eternity, Wheatley and Nightmare Moon cross paths and discuss their respective exile in space.
Guerrilla Corefare: Nightmare Moon is free, but the magical accident that released her did more than just send her back to Equestria. Now, from behind the scenes, Luna exploits Nightmare's newfound weakness in order to sabotage the plans for eternal night.
Note: As older stories (in fact, written before the debut of Season 2), these are fairly amateurish, relatively speaking, and contain speculative-at-the-time characterization for Luna. With the exception of a few minor edits, however, they have been submitted in their original forms for posterity's sake. This isn't Airstrip One, after all, and I don't work for the Party.More Less
