Hey guys, it's me, Chaotic Harmony, the guy who makes blog posts all the time.  :Rainbowwild:

If you talk to me on a regular basis, you'd know that I am in fact in Austin at the moment to compete for a State-level poetry competition.

(Well, actually it's an entire academic competition, called UIL, I just compete in the section of poetry.)

Anyway, today was the first round, the preliminaries.

As you can probably tell from the title of this blog post, it was disappointing.

I... didn't make it.  Out of 6 people in the room, I got 5th.  (Actually, it's an average ranking, I got placed 4th, 5th, and 6th by 3 judges respectively)  This means that I didn't even get close to breaking into the finals round.

And now for that one other word in the title... disappointment.  Sure, you can all say that "You got to state!" and "There's only 12 people in the whole state that go to that level" but still... that doesn't change the fact that I failed to achieve what I wanted to achieve.  I don't feel like I let anyone down, really, except myself.

But hey, at least I got to state right?  (If sarcasm worked on the internet, it would go here btw)

Now, before you all jump on me like Alex S.'s fans did to him, don't worry I'm still gonna do fanfiction!

Anyway, yeah, as the title tells you, I've debated to myself about doing a work of original fiction for a while, and today I was really struck with the inspiration to do one.

And so, brainstorming has been happening and I have a few things down so far....

Title:  The Lucky Seven

Description:  The world had been boiled by war once again, this one by a second Cold War that had turned hot.  The surface was alive with radiation and the select few who had been lucky enough to survive the end, eight of which who had been residents of the recently-destroyed town of <Don't have a name yet>.  Seven children, alongside a crippled man who had seen battles before over the course of his life, must find a way to live in a world that they would have never thought could ever exist.  A story of comraderie, the loss of innocence that war brings, and how - even at the end of the world - humans can still find a way to make it worse.

Setting:  Post-Apocolyptic (Specifically after a second Cold War), small-town area of Germany (Haven't decided where yet)

And so... that's so far what I have (that I'm going to share anyway), so tell me what you guys think?

EDIT:  Also, a good friend of mine is part of this thing called Journey of the Spark which is going to be a fan-made movie about MLP!

I have to say, the narrative is, at many points, repetitive in exposition—it seems to drone on unnecessarily, where simple language would have not only sufficed, but would sharpen the narration overall.

I strongly suggest you seek out a few reviews for grammar and thematic execution. Two most prominent places to get quality feedback are mlpchan’s and ponychan’s /fic/ boards.

Check Eqd’s Editor’s Omnibus if you are unfamiliar or have questions regarding the noted issues.

This is strike two. Edit and revise thoroughly before resubmission and be aware the noted issues may not be the total sum of mistakes made.

Speaking of projects, I'm still working on the next chapter of Shards as well as other projects that don't involve fanfictions (one of which being a script for a very talented voice actress in the community that is doing a promo for our Charity Album.  Huzzah!)

Well, I care, as do many other people who have or know someone who is afflicted with this disease.  It's not a joke, nor should it ever be one.  It kills people.

I know I've made blog posts about this before, some ages ago and some recently, but let me do one now, since the fundraiser is coming to a close.

I'm part of a brony-driven charity project called "Buck Cancer"  This project started off simply as two people and an idea, but has grown over the course of over half a year to being a project with nearly 40 people working on it.  Musicians from all "popularity levels" are in this project, as are many different musicians with many different genres.  (For example, The Living Tombstone and Joaf the Loaf are part of this, so its a varied soundtrack of music and there IS more than just those two in difference.  Jeez, I'm half asleep atm.)  Also, I have to state that the music will not be strictly pony-related, but it will be made by bronies only.  Damn Hasbro and their copyrights...

And no, this isn't just going to be some internet-based thing.  This album has plans to go onto shelves in actual music stores as well as be played on radio AND be sold on Vinyl disks (That's right, Vinyl.  Disks.)

That's right, an actual brony music album that hits the real, not digital, shelves.

This album's indiegogo fundraiser is coming to a close, and it's only got 1525$ of its 10000$ goal, with a period of 10 days to achieve it.

Now, I'm not telling you to give money, I'm simply asking you to.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been very active recently.  I've had these things called IB tests that have really been taking up a large chunk of my time, and other real life events that I outlined in the previous blog post.

This one is just to let you guys know that I'm likely going to finish the next chapter of Shards soon, so be on the lookout for that!

(Blegh, being sick sucks.  Being sick on prom night still sucks more...  Oh well, still had fun!)

Yeah... bad humor aside, I hope you all haven't grown too frustrated with me these past few weeks.  To be frank, I've had a lot going on recently given that it's my senior year, but just so you all know I'm not throwing horse shi- er, ponyfeathers at you, let me outline what has been going on.

1) An increased involvement with activities in which I hang out with my friends.

2) Major major major exams (Did I mention they are major exams?)

3) Prom (I got 2 free tickets tho so that's 130$ I didn't have to spend on getting in with my Special Somepony)

4) Dates with the Special Somepony (Cuz those are important!)

5) Minecraft and YouTube Let's Plays Other miscellaneous distractions

6) Chores

7) ???

8) Profit!

Anyway, yeah, as you can tell, there's a lot going on right now.  As such, I've been kind of.... demotivated when it comes to writing, as whenever I get a chance I am tired and not remotely near the state I need to be in order to write.  So... not much has been getting done.  However, I'm going to be putting aside my other projects  (One of which is a story in which Twilight casts the Want it Need it spell on herself and the other being an entry for the May Writing Prompt for the World-Building Alliance) and start working on the next chapter for Shards of Hatred.

And to those who read that story, I am sorry that I haven't been working on it...  There really isn't much of an excuse for me not doing so. (as there is about 2500 words on that first story mentioned above and 250 on the other)  But know that I'll be working on the next chapter and the rest of them soon.  For now, I'm putting aside these blasted one-shot ideas that I always tend to create and finish this story so that you all can stop waiting for it!  Well, I'm going to focus on Shards, but I've gotta have the May Writing one done before the end of the month, so yeah.

Also, there are waaaaay too many fics in the "tagged stories" box....  took me 5 whole minutes to find where to tag Shards...
