Equestria may appear peaceful and serene on the outside, but a silent war has been taking place for the last six months. The Changeling Queen, Chrysalis, may have been defeated, but her return had set wheels in motion. Every Queen has a King.

Jasmine Dhula finds herself the newest, and only zebra, member of the Adventurer Academy. The Academy is the front line in the current war on Changelings, but the battlegrounds are constantly changing. The thing about changelings is that they could be anypony. Another member of the Adventurer Academy, Crosswind, finds himself on an express trip to Ponyville.

Their arrival throws Equestria into turmoil as an ancient cult plots its return. On top of that, a disillusioned officer in the Equestria military plays her hand.

What if Specialist Traynor didn't pick up Kai Leng's signal as he left Thessia? Commander Shepard and the Normandy are scouring the Horsehead Nebulae for any trace of Cerberus. In an off limits system there is a strange planet that doesn't exist on Council records, but it appears to be emitting an unusual signal. Shepard brings the Normandy in to investigate.

Meanwhile, Celestia is trying to adapt to Luna's return. The younger sibling always had some radical ideas about how to manage the kingdom, and Celestia is finding it hard to hold her ground against Luna.

Twilight Incorporated is the brainchild of one Twilight Tinker, an offbeat businesspony whose inventions brought the Republic into a golden age. In one of their high-tech facilities a group of quirky scientists are trying to make teleportation a reality for everypony. Unfortunately, a miscommunication forces the team to test an incomplete product and the results become out of this world.

Isabelle Pie follows Pinkie's lead and leaves the rock farm. She decides to strike out for herself in Canterlot. Knowing the rest of her family has abandoned her, she turns to Pinkie in a series of letters. Pinkie writes back eagerly, wanting to help; but will Pinkie's new job as an Element of Harmony get in the way?

Twilight is obsessing over writing a novel, to the point where she is actively shunning her friends for more time to write. Spike has about enough of this after catching her trying to pull another all-nighter and calls an intervention. To help Twilight unwind, Celestia invites the Mane Six and Spike to a luxury spa in Hoofdale for a four day weekend. They all agree, some of them for Twilight’s sake. Once there they try to make Twilight forget about her book for a few days and enjoy some relaxation.

Life has gone on, but the trio remained best friends forever. In two days time Sweetie Belle leaves for Canterlot to pursue her singing career, so Scootaloo and Apple Bloom prepare to throw her one last party. Meanwhile, Diamond Tiara goes missing.
