An Imaginative Performance

It’s once again time for Ponyville’s annual school performance. This year, it’s a musical retelling of a story about what it means to be a hero. With curtains only minutes away from rising, each student is finding their own way to deal with the pressures of being on stage. Some have no fear at all, while others are just hoping to get the night over with. A few even distract themselves by pretending the audience is doing something silly. Then, there's Apple Bloom, who imagines everything happening on stage is real, regardless if it makes sense or not.

True. But it's kind of a random story, so it doesn't need to be perfect, just funny and more or less IC.

Eh. I read it already so it's no great loss to me if you don't publish it here. But I'm sure some people would enjoy it.

I've read enough reviews of that story to know there is no simple fix for it.

I know this is a very old comment I am replying to but I have a simple recommendation.

Treat the original draft of WBE as if it was a rough draft of a brand new story.

Do your own sweep for errors and then get a few proofreaders, editors and reviewers to go over it and find the issues and give you feedback.

That should more than enough clean and polish it without needing to drastically change it.

Hey! Just wanted to leave a note saying how much I enjoyed The Worst Backers in Equestria. I got a little nostalgic lately and reread it and it was still very good, even the second time though. And now I see you're here on FimFiction! I will have to have a look at some of your other stuff at some point.

My advice would be to not change it. It's out there, in peoples' heads and you can't take it back, for better or for worse. Besides, you'll never make it perfect and it doesn't need to be. Honestly, this is a lesson George Lucas could do with learning.

Especially don't change Luna. Who cares if she's not canon? She's the heart and soul of the piece.

That said, the title should totally be The Worst Bakers in Equestria Saga, but that's just me being strange. :scootangel:

You really want to know? It's stupid, but here it is.

Throughout high school, I worked in a grocery store as a service clerk, which meant I bagged groceries, brought in carts, and worked cleaned. One of the departments I was frequently assigned to was the bottle room (basically the store's recycling center for plastic bottles and aluminum cans). Yes, working there was as dirty and disgusting as you might imagine, but I needed money, and it was better than flipping burgers (or so I told myself). Anyway, whenever the store was busy, and I was working in bottles, they would call me over the speaker system and say, "Bob from bottles, please come up front."

I have many bizarre stories from my time spent working at that store. I ended up taking some of them, twisting the truth, and writing them out as a collection of short stories that I shared with my friends. One of the characters that frequented the stories was, of course, Bob from bottles.

Since it was those stories that sparked my interest in writing, I decided to take Bob From Bottles as my pen name.

My next story is getting its finishing touches and should be up within a few days (hopefully tomorrow).

As for WBE, there's so many issues with its grammar, structure, characterizations, and plot that I don't think I will ever be able to get it to a level that I am happy with. It was the first piece of fanfiction I ever wrote and it shows. I want to fix it, but short of completely rewriting it, I don't know how.

>>33685 Any progress updates? Chris' review of the WBE reminded me that it's still not up on this site, and you don't seem to have published any other stories since the comment I'm replying to either. So yeah, update pls.
