Second Person is a type of perspective. It's the same one I used in Races. It may look easy, but it's not. I deleted at least six drafts of that story before I hit something that I knew could have potential.
Try writing something in third person if you're new to writing. If you're not new, try first person. Though, that can also be hard for fan fiction.
The community is huge, so it doesn't matter who you target. Shipping fics tend to rack up views, but you have to really know the characters for that. Second person is popular too, but you have to be comfortable writing that type of perspective. It's not for everyone.
But whatever you choose will be fine. Your first few may not be so good. Here's a secret: Races is the third fic I posted to this site. I didn't like the other two, and took them down. It takes time.
