Hello all you PVS! fans out there,

Once again, I have managed to let life get the better of me, and not taken the appropriate time to address you all on the situation. The next episode of PVS! is in the works, and I wish I were getting more time booked into writing it than I am. That said, we have some great support in the form of our newest Contributor, who is so excited to do stuff for the show that he is actually jumping the gun on me! He has received my blessing to write his own material for the PVS!, which I will endeavor to edit for quality while I am valiantly (see: lazy bastard) attempting to write the next full episode.

Also back by popular demand, the Pony Variety Show! will be making it's big return! That's right PVS! fans, we will be making new episodes of the PVS!, along with some Showtime Bits, and other interesting stories for our favorite ponies!

Lastly, I'd like to thank everyone who has kept the hope of a renewed PVS! alive! Without you, I'm sure I wouldn't have picked up the hat again!

So as I've been reading stories here on FiMFiction, I've noticed a disturbing trend amongst a very vocal minority in the brony community, one that disturbs me. Christian haters. I'm not talking about people who disagree with Christian views, but people who full-on tell others that they are wrong for their beliefs, criticize them without actual basis, and treat them like crap.

When did this happen? When did the message of our show become, 'Hey, I don't agree with your opinion, so f*ck you!'? Did I miss something here? What's worse is that I've seen it amongst my fans here on the site. Quite frankly, I'm ashamed. I'm ashamed because someone who professes to like my work and encourages me will so blatantly go to someone who writes a Christian (or any reasonable, religiously themed fic), and criticize it based solely upon it's religious context.

I'm not talking about giving it a poor review if it isn't written well. I can understand that, even if I don't agree. It's the people who tell the person that they're wrong, ignorant, don't belong in modern society, etc... That is an insult to those who believe, and more often than not without basis.

I've had a few debates with such individuals, and often find their knowledge on the subject quite lacking to boot. How can you (those of you who actually do this) claim to have a valid opinion when you don't even understand what you're talking about!? Who among you is so much of an expert that you have the right to decry someone else's faith on the basis that you don't like it!?

For the rest of you, thank you. Thank you for accepting, or at the very least ignoring, others viewpoints enough that you don't seek to criticize. Even the most foolish man is seen as wise for knowing when to hold his tongue, and I believe that most of you out there are indeed decent people. Hate doesn't belong here, and I'm grateful for every person who understands that. Please, encourage others to stop hating on anyone, regardless of their personal beliefs.

I had no idea how many entries I really got! The delay this time is simply due to the massive number of questions for the Election debate, the enormous amount of editing needed to get your OC songs posted up, and the rest of the story to boot! Rest assured, Episode 8 is coming, and is already over 12,000 words, despite me having only half of the song entries completed!

I promise, promise, promise to have it done by this Sunday, and all of your entries are going in, even if I have to kill myself to do it! Please don't hate me!

Sorry to everypony who was looking forward to the PVS! this week. Due to the competition, other projects I have going on, a computer issue, and a serious lack of inspiration on my own part, I've decided to postpone for this sunday.

The competition will still be happening on schedule (as long as life doesn't seriously step on my toes again!) and I will be renewing my work next sunday. If you do need your PVS! fix, check out the new Showtime Bits segment, a sort of backstage bit for the PVS!

Want to see your OC appear on the Pony Variety Show!? Why not participate in the official PVS! Singoff competition! That's right, your pony's name could be up in lights, right along with the Mane 6 and all your favorites from the Pony Variety Show! Be sure to read the rules thoroughly for the submission process.

To submit, copy the BOLD portion of the blog, and fill out each requirement, following it's instructions as necessary. Photos are allowed, but you must still fill out the correct areas, or I won't be able to take the submissions. Send them to me via note, so that I can do the character justice!

OCs for the contest must be entered as follows:

Name: (Full name here)

Gender: (Self-explanatory)

Breed: (Earth pony, Unicorn, or Pegasus for ponies only! Non-ponies must be reasonable for the series. Aka. Dragons, Buffalo, Donkeys, Griffons, etc... acceptable, Draconequus not so much.)

Age: (Foal, Filly/Colt, Mare/Stallion, Older)

Mane: (Style and Color. No crazy ones please!)

Tail: (Style and Color. Again with the crazy.)

Eyes: (Color)

Coat: (Color. No more than three colors unless I find it reasonable.)

Cutie Mark: (Describe mark. Nothing too crazy or inappropriate. Aka. one to three different items in the mark, none of which may refer to anything that would fall under the derogatory or sexual descriptors.)

Personality: (At least three descriptive words about the character. Personality clones are not acceptable. Aka. She's just like Rainbow Dash, only 20% cooler.)

The entrant must put the ENTIRE song they wish to sing in their entry form as their character would sing it, as well as their introduction dialogue. The song may not have excessive swearing, derogatory terminology, explicit sexual reference, and may not be politically or agenda aimed.

Religious songs are okay, as are love songs that do not violate the strict sexual or agenda aimed themes.

Entries that do not fill in these requirements will be disqualified.

Anypony may also request that an existing character sing a song. They must state which song they want the character to sing, which must still meet the individual requirements of the OC songs.

As each canon character will only be allowed to sing one song, the ponies/characters will decide for themselves from amongst the requests which song to sing.

Each participant in the contest may only enter one OC with one song, and may only make a request of one character from the show. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Duets or group songs are allowed amongst OCs, but songs with canon characters have a low possibility due to the request based nature of the competition.

If an idea is good enough, I may supersede the rules at my discretion .All entry requests must be submitted via note to my FimFiction account or they will be invalid, and must be received by Wednesday, July 18th.

Story posting will be on Wednesday, July 25th. After posting, the audience may post their vote for favorite OC, favorite song performed, and competition winner in the comments for the Singoff!

Hello everypony,

For quite a while now I've been working on the fan novel, There is a Season, which has been both a wonderful privilege, and a serious heartache. Had it not been for this story, I would never have found FimFiction, nor would I have created the Pony Variety Show! which so many of you love! In a lot of ways, my best experiences with the Mane 6 and friends happened here as I looked through their eyes, gave them life as best I could, and expanded upon the backstory of their world. Sure it's my vanity talking, but I like to think that I've contributed a little to the fiction that is MLP.

Completing this work marks a milestone for me, and everything I do from here on in the MLP community will be measured for me by it. The Pony Variety Show! is fun and all, but in the end, it is my own little creation that holds me fast to the series, so for those of you with some time to burn and a love of stories, I'd love to encourage you to look into it, even if just to peek and let me know what you think!

Hello Everypony! Ardan Blade here with a few things to say.

First off, I want to thank everypony that's contributed to the PVS! via comments, shared their thoughts, and even just taken the time to read through this big, lovable mess I've created! Knowing you all enjoy it so much helps make the arduous task of setting all of this up a little more worthwhile. I'll say that this has been a labor of love, one that keeps growing! As such, I want to officially recognize two individuals who deserve a lot of recognition.

First and always foremost in my mind, is my dearest Lani. She's been my best friend for a year and a half, with the last six months being our engagement! The amount of encouragement, time, and number of Michael Jackson related videos she went through for me was beyond everything I could have asked! She is the most wonderful person in my life, and I want you all to know how much I love her!

The second person I'd like to recognize is PorcuMoose.deviantart.com, more well known to me as Zann. She has been both a great inspiration and a wonderful contributor, who has proofread most of my work, suggested little things I would have missed, and continued these zany RPs that tend to happen with each story. Not only has she shared her time and energy, but helped me to understand how the characters of MLP:FiM think and behave by asking them questions, having conversations with them, and even participating in the girls' nights out at the club! She deserves loads of love for her work, so go tell her so!

Second, I'd like to address my concerns for the story, and make a request to those who want to become story Contributors/Writing Staff! While I do all of my own writing (minus a few contributions from the aforementioned best ponies ever!) I do have to do an enormous amount of research! I considered myself quite a nerd, but all of the suggestions you guys send in show me very definitively how far and wide nerddom goes! As such, I am finding myself in need of researchers, idea walls, and people who can just come up with clever ideas!

The position of researcher is fairly simple. I need ponies who will go online, find reference material that suits the skits, characters, and guests that I need to emulate, and link me back to them. This way, I don't have to sift through the entire internet looking for said references to find the material I need. It's a simple job, and makes a world of difference when I'm busy or need to be writing a piece.

Idea Wall is a bit more complex. I need people who want to actually get in touch with me, either via Skype, or simply typing text in notes and comments, allowing me to send them ideas, and responding with their thoughts. It takes a little more dedication, but again this helps me immensely, especially if I'm getting into one of my funks. Having somepony to talk to about an idea is worth it's weight in gold!

If you think you've got a bit of talent putting rhymes or lyrics together, or better yet, parodying lyrics, I'd love to hear from you! While I've done most of the lyrical writing myself, getting ideas from others has always been helpful! This one does mean meeting deadlines, particularly if I'm trying to get a story done, and need a bit of help, but I'd be immensely grateful!

All of these positions are low dedication, and I don't mind if somepony can only contribute a little. Every little bit helps, and I want the Pony Variety Show! to be as much all of your art as it is mine!
