This update is for the week of 5/11/13

So! I was actually kind of busy this weekend. Mainly because I got my first commission, which is super sweet. In fact, you should see that fic get posted sometime soon, so be on the lookout. It's actually a Mature fic. Ooh! Some of you might like that, maybe. Who knows. Anyway, I put ~4000 words into the commission, already bringing me past my weekly goal and chipping away at some of the stuff I need to make up.

Another ~500 words was put into LOE work, because they told me "Hey you need to write things" so I wrote some things. I'm going to more consistently put time into that because I have to.

Annnndd... according to Google Docs history, that's what I accomplished this week. I hit the 3500 for this and I knocked off 1000 of my surplus. This brings me down to ~16,950 words I need to write. Hopefully I can keep this productivity up, even with Diablo 3 creeping back up on me, not to mention the League of Legends that I should be playing to get better at.

Next week looks like more Iron Mare and LOE work, unless another surprised commission happens. So, until then, seeya!

This update is for the week of 5/4/13.

Alright, well... I only missed like six of these, which is over a month of writing, so that's cool. That's really swell.

Wait, no, crap, that's awful.

April was... very much a writing slump for me. I just had no real desire to write, unless I was forced, which is evidenced by Fluttershy's Tail (but hey, you know, 4400 words ain't bad). But pretty much besides, that, I didn't write a whole lot at all. That is, until today. Not even this week, just today in general. I decided that I had to write, and I was going to try to put words on the screen. Well, it took a bit of convincing...

...to the tune of three glasses, to be precise, but I got 2150 words out. All of them were towards the next chapter of Iron Mare, which I'm sure a lot of people are hurting for. Either that or I'm full of myself. Who knows? Regardless, words were written, and that's good. Now, let me just figure out how much I'm missing. Shall we?

My last update was week eleven of this year, March 23rd, which I also got no writing done, so let's count 3500 for that. Then the next week. 3500. And the next. 3500. However, week fourteen was Fluttershy's tail, where I did 4400! Yay! Then the fifteenth and sixteenth weeks were a bust, so that's another 7000. Then, we're here, week seventeen, where I'm still down by 1350.

Taking into account the little extra I did for Fluttershy's Tail, I need to make up 17,950 words. If I can write 3100 words a day for the next week, I can accomplish that! However, you know me, I'm not going to write 3100 words a day. But what if I triple my output to 1500 words a day? Then it will take roughly two weeks, taking into account what I need from the next week.

So basically I have a shit ton of writing to do.

Hey everyone, you might have noticed my new fic that went up last night, Fluttershy's Tail. It's not very often that I write random one shots as opposed to working on larger projects, but this was a special case. It was for another epic battle of titans. A showdown of heroes.

I, of course, talk about the EQD Pre-reader Battle of April 2013!

My boy Nines Tempest will probably make a more in-depth post about it tonight, but the gist is that we all came up with prompts, and then they were randomly given to someone else. Simple enough. That's where Fluttershy's Tail comes from, which I admit isn't the most creative of names.

But, it gets the job done.

My writing schedule will go back to Iron Mare after this, now that I've gotten back in the swing of things. Who'd have thought all I needed was a deadline to get me to work?

Figured I'd share this. As you can see, I took this a while ago, but it really hasn't changed.

However, there is more dust now.

So, as you can imagine, I didn't really get any writing done this week. However, I do have a good excuse for it. I was working on this:

That's at the top of EQD right now, and it's a celebratory banner for the second pre-reader anniversary. You know, just something to remind people that we're a part of EQD and we're always working behind the scenes. Now, 70% of those vectors I did myself, so the better part of my week was spent working on it. In fact, I churned out four vectors on Friday alone, which you can find in my deviantart gallery.

Alas, now that that project is finished, I can return to my normal writing schedule. I'll pick up Iron Mare again and start the next chapter, hopefully better this time around, and to keep things interesting I'll put some more time into Secret Project #2. Hopefully, next time I make an update I'll have some real progress to report on!
