The Lunar Guards are always shrouded in mysteri even more so since the return of the Mistress of the night, always protecting Equestris from the shadows. Fallow the adventures of Zeek as he uncovers a secret that should never had been found.
Equestria is home to many magical wonders, and thanks to their great rulers and their friends, peace and Harmony have prevailed, however their are heroes whose stories haven't been told. These are the tales of the unsung heroes, who protect the world from the shadows.
Canterlot castle, the jewel city of Equestria, home of the highest noble houses since the days of the founders. And currently today running for the title of the city that never sleeps. A few hours ago Princess Celestia disappeared during her very own sun celebration, Pegasus of all kinds sored the skies in search of her, Unicorns searched the mystical planes for answers, and Earth ponies gathered at Ponyville in hopes of finding their lost Princess. And just as they left, they returned spreading news Equestria had waited to hear for 1000 years.
"The Princesses have returned! The Princesses have returned! The Sun and Moon are whole once more! The Princesses have returned!"
Soldiers, Civilians, Tourists, and Guests from all over Equestria stormed Canterlot in rejoice of the news. From outside the joy of the ponies became a week long celebration. And in this special occasion a young soldier celebrated with his old friend, and to remind him that he needs to be sober to fulfill his responsibilities tomorrow morning....if he could stop his captain from extending the party.
"Ha ha! I think you had too much to drink Shining!" A dark gray Bat Pegasus said to his commander and best friend Shining Armour "Are you kidding Zeke! We hardly have begun! Ba-Whooops!" the white unicorn tried to lift himself from the table only to land on his flank. Zeke and Shining Armour had been friends since the academy Shining being his senior by a year. They were currently having their own celebration at their favorite pub called Grendel's Griffin. After hearing the news of what happened in Ponyville or should Zeke say, what Shining Armour's little sister accomplished. Taking him to celebrate became a must for Zeke and the ponies under Shining Armour's command.
Zeke and his own team already had their own celebration, but good old Shining just couldn't wait to express just how proud he was of his sister. Touching but Zeke was mostly there to see just how much shenanigans his old friend can get into "Okay okay lets get you up at the barracks before Celestia or Luna herself see you like this. Yo! Grendel! Sent me the bill! The Captain of the Guard is paying drinks for everypony!" That will teach him, after all these years he should have learn to never fall asleep with Zeke in the room, Ah well lets just drag him upstairs.
Dragging his asleep friend up stairs Zeke failed to noticed, until he heard it, a sound he never have heard before...and yet so very familiar. Letting go of his friend the bat pony slowly turned his head as a blue box appeared right behind him. Zeke's specialty has always been to find whats been hidden or to hide what must be hidden hens his cutie mark a closed scroll. But in all his adventures hes never seen a box or any magical object for that matter like this. Zeke's first instinct was to fly to the nearest patrol, however he stopped as the box opened, revealing to a surprised Zeke a face he hadn't seen since flight school "What the-?! Derpy?!".
"Hey Z! Long time no see!" The gray Pegasus with the yellow mane happily chipped "Quick what year is this?" a second voice behind her asked as a Brown earth pony with goggles appeared next to her.
"What? Wait how do you two-?" "First, Magic science, now date please?" The brown pony cut him off "Sorry Z buts its important". "More important than you explaining why are you celebrating Princess Luna return inside a strange box with a strange stallion?" Zeke asked raising an eyebrow much to Derpys embarrassment.
"Where no-!" "Luna's return party?! This wont do we arrived way too early! Come one girl don't do this to me now!" The brown pony said as he reentered the box. "....Who?" "He is The Doctor" Derpy quickly answered Zeke. "Doctor? Doctor Who?" With a smile Zeke never seen on Derpys face "Just the Doctor" she closed the door and just as the strange box appeared it disappeared the same way.
For a while Zeke looked around trying to find any trace of them, looking down at the sleeping Shining Armour Zeke gave up "Thats it, im not drinking with you again, Karma works too fast every time I prank you" and proceed to continue on his way, dragging his now snoring friend with him. However if he wasn't so distracted he would have spotted a pair of menacing eyes fallowing him upstairs.
Next Morning
"Oh Hay what in the name of Celestia did I do this time" waking up to a summon inside the royal palace so early in the morning just spelled trouble for Zeke. Reaching the door to the main room the Bat Pony had to take a few breaths to calm his nerves "Its okay, nothing out of the ordinary, its only the high rulers of the land asking for an audience.....Not helping...lets just get it over with".
Opening the doors to the main hall revealed the all to familiar throne only this time his eyes bared witness to not only the ever smiling Celestia, but the newly returned Princess Luna as well. In reality it was a few seconds but for Zeke he swears that he gaped for hours. Looking from her waiving dark mane to her sharp exotic eyes...thats when reality slapped him awake and remind him to 'BOW DOWN ON YOU'RE KNEES!'
"Princess!" removing his helmet in the process he really didn't want to make a more bigger foul out of himself "Rise commander Zeke for we have a task for you and you're ears only" Celestia said with a ...mischievous glint in her eyes? Must be the cider. "Yes y-...wait wha-, im sorry but im a" "As of right now a knight taking orders directly from me, its that clear COMMANDER" This time it was Luna that addressed him, I believe those were my knees shaking. "And here is you're first assignment" Celestia said looking right behind me, but as soon as I turned the whole room started shaking, Taking to the air didn't help much at all, the air started spinning around like if a Pegasus was making a tornado inside looking for the source he saw it!
The blue box from last night moving around shooting and absorbing electrical looking discharges. Zeke prepared to turn around to gain some distance from the box only to freeze as a small voice whispered in his ear "Save me". And with that he was propelled straight towards the strange blue box.
"Owww my head" visions blurry, body....still in one piece, okay sta- "Do all ponies look like that after hitting their heads?". Shaking my head i tried to zero in on the voice...only to see the brown stallion from the strang- "YOU?!" from his head my vision shifted to looked around the room Zeke found himself in.
If you could call it a room, the place is enormous. Fallowing the bizarre construct in the middle of the room the only thing near him was a wooden door thats located behind him. "Hi nice meeting you, Im the Doctor by the way, so how did you did it?" the voice belonging to the Brown stallion as he waved a metal beeping wand around my head.
"Did what?" I asked annoyed as i pushed the load instrument away "Why crash into my Tardis of course!" he glanced at his tool "Besides looking like a bat and a Pony" "Bat Pegasus" "Or a batman parody, always too gloomy" "Im not-" "And you're only poisoned with Atron energy" "WHAT?!" "But thats because you crashed into my TARDIS, which its impossible, which you clearly don't have the ability to do" he said while moving to the central construct moving several levers and screens "Come on old girl what did the mean old bat did to you?".
Its he...talking to the construct? "Look, theres obviously been a mistake" "Of course theres been!" he marched right back and waved the metal wand around me again, stopping at my wings "Blimey! Their real!" he chipped exited "Well of WHOAHH!" the brown pony stretched one of my wings as if examining it for the first time "And here I thought it was another Halloween decoration, But an actual Sub-species Oh fantastic!".
Okay now im very creped out "LISTEN! I dont know who you are and how I got here but lets keep our Hooves to ourselves!" And to make matters worse he licks the hoof that was holding my wing "Hmmm, well thats not right, I should be moving forward by 5 years but according to your scent you are around the year 1002 C.E." 'Okay Zeke calm down, this isnt the first time you got stuck with a crazy pony' "....wait, PRINCESS CELESTIA, PRINCESS LUNA!!" I remember! I was called in for a meeting and then I was thrown into the strange box HIS STRANGE BOX!! Looking back at the stallion he stopped his ranting to examine me closer "What did you did to them?! And for that matter where is this?!" I tried to sound threatening only to see him smirk "Ah of course! Thats explains it she always love Princesses don't you old girl, and with both of them it shouldn't had been hard to temporally set me of course. So how are the Royals?" Okay this pony is mad "Lis-" moving back to the construct "Doctor" "Eh?" "Thats my name, The Doctor, whats yours?"
Odd, before it felt like he was interrogating me now it feels as if he accepted a secret and its moving with the agenda, looking at his extended Hoof i relaxed a bit and shake his hoof "My names Zeke, Hide Zeke" now he is making a weird face "Right it is" and on cue a loud bing echoed around us "Oh look at that we landed! Lets see!" as he moved away I shake my head again 'What am I doing? I need to find out what happened to me, and for that matter' "Wait a minute, last time I saw you Derpy and you were inside a blue box, the same blue box that-" that name brighten him up "Oh you know Miss Hooves?! Such a bright mare she is! Cont'd bring her this time, unfortunately Miss Carrot Top beat me to her and she has a whole week planned out, Said she needed to spend some girl time Ahhh biggest mystery of the universe Women".
I was about to agree when it hit me "Wait but I just saw you last night, at the return party" that got his attention as he dashed back to my face "Really? Then lets see what coincidences have in store this time Hih hih" and with a sprint he dashed to the door and walked outside. I shortly fallowed only to stop at my tracks "Urm...Doctor? Where are we?" The enigmatic stallion was taking in the scenery "Well apparently we are either stuck on a mountain, or inside a dragons treasure vault" we found ourselves surrounded by miles and miles of gemstones scatted on all sides, if the Doctor hadn't pointed out I wouldn't have even noticed the roof.
"I think this place is too big for-..wha?" Ive finally looked behind me to see where we had come from to be face to face with the very Item that started this whole incident, the blue box, we had come from inside the blue box. "Didn't Derpy or the Princess told you?" looking behind me the Doctor was all smiles "Time and Relative Dimension in Space, my spaceship that can travel all over time and space, and you mister Hide Zeke, had just the honor to crash land into it, Welcome to the crew! Always wanted to say that!".
Oh dear Princess Celestia Princess Luna, Just what have I gotten myself into?
Present time
"How did I do sister?" Princess Luna asked as she looked out the balcony and into the sky, so long since she viewed the world from this side of the world. Celestia walked next to he as she revealed a worn out book for both of them to read "According to the diary they should start running anytime now, it feels like yesterday" siting next to her sister after so long Celestia couldn't hold back from giving her sister a hug. "Shouldn't we have told him?" "Oh something tells me it will all turn out for the best".
Okay so your stuck with a deranged pony that apparently flies a magic box thats bigger on the inside, and he is convinced that not only it can travel to different places but time as well 'That ill believe it when I see it' But none of that matters now because. "You landed us inside A DIAMOND DOG'S CAVE?!" we are currently running for our lives as a horde or armored diamond dogs are giving chase, trowing spears and boulders at us in every turn we take in this gigantic treasure room. "Oi! For your information I was aiming for a more sunnier era until somepony decided to play hijack the TARDIS!" Noticing another boulder aiming for us I grabbed the mad pony and decided to glide over another mountain of treasure. "No not left! Go right!" "Why not-WHOAA!!" several dogs descended from the roof literally throwing themselves at us. This is insane! I understand them getting mad but now their killing themselves to capture us!? The ground is one thing but theres nothing under us but sharp mountains of treasure. "Of for Celestia! WHERE!?" "That depends! Do you like crash landings?" For the love of-we need a place to hide im feeling tired...wait is that a chasm I hear under. "Wh-Oh nononononono!" The mad pony has taken hold of one of my wings. "GERONIMO!" and folded it closed. "AHHHHHH!!" Force closing my wing we fell into the shadows.
Location Above Ground:
"WHAT?!" a dark shadow hovers over the kneeling diamond dog soldiers. "We spot them we did, two ponies in the catacombs my lord!" those were the dogs final words as his head detonated the reason being a red glowing horn in the darkness. "It must have been spies from HER....its too soon" The crimson glare turned to the next diamond dog "Find them, and bring them to me, If the princess wishes to play war :grin: then its only fare that I respond in kind" the dark figure waited for the dogs to leave his chamber to look outside his window, his dark crimson armor gleaming all the way. "Don't keep me waiting too long princess, I long to hear your screams".
Back Underground:
"A river?! What in the hay posses you to dunk us into a river! I had to ditch my armor!" Stunts I get, forcing me into a stunt is suicidal. "What? I just though that they didn't like to go for a swim oh wait those are cats, forget I mention swimming, did you noticed anything odd?" That look again, I cant really tell if he is interrogating me or really asking my opinion...but he does have a point. "...They didn't make sense" "Make sense how?" "Everything, they work in groups but small groups no more than ten or twelve, they are cowards so they are only known to strike from safe locations and most importantly!" This I looked up from where we had fallen "We ran over mountains of treasure from all kinds! Why weren't they fussing over it?! All you need is one gem to bring a whole disciplined group into a frenzy!" Why im I saying all of this to him? "So your saying that what we saw would never ever be possible? Not even in their own kingdom?" "Them having a kingdom? Absurd! Those creatures are nomads! They never stay in one place for fear of other dogs or predators might take their treasure, those above us practically ignore it!....what are you doing?" Looking back to the Doctor he seems to be dancing with his metal wand, waving it in the air back and forth. "...okay I need to know is that a wand your playing with?" "How rude! This for your information its a Sonic Screwdriver, im trying to find the source of this sound" "...right, in the mean time I say we get out off he-OPFHH! Hey! Get OFF!" "No time I got the signal! Giddyup Pony!" "EXCUSE ME!" The sudden appearance of falling spears stopped any further protests I had as we flew away into the darkness.
Flying in the dark is no problem for me, flying hit a fully grown stallion with his sonic constantly beeping proves to be exhausting. Luckily for me the sound of water getting louder appeased my nerves of falling to our doom...that is until we found the sewers. "Aha!! Here we are! Progress! Tell me Zeke whats wrong with this picture?" "That I haven't thrown you off my back?!" "Oh right! Sorry lets land, But really whats wrong with this?" After getting the Doctor off him and regaining his breath Zeke paused looking around him. "Wait...this is definitely a sewer, but wheres the smell?" Not just the smell, no filth, no grime, being clean and tidy is one thing but this place fells and looks brand new. "Not to worry, I already figured it out!" the Doctor said galloping ahead. "What-?....its that a root?" using his screwdriver in the water they could now clearly see fractures branching from the walls into the water stream. "That my Bat friend is genuine Recycling system! And look its just draining anything and everything and transferring all over our heads! For what? Matter? Energy? Food? The possibilities are endless!". "So ponies are using this sewers then? Never really understood magic but I must admit its sounds useful, too bad we don't have anything like that in Canterlot" "What did you said?" "That it would be useful" "No no the last part, Canterlot doesn't use this type of magic?" "Not that Ive seen, we used cleaning the sewers as punishment for new recruits, and trust me when I say 'Never again'" "Well I can imagine, Aha! over there our way out!" Fallowing the Doctor we found a stair case going upwards, feeling slightly impatient and restless I flew up the stairs, curiosity just killing me to know where I was.....what I saw....will forever haunt me for years to come. And what I...We did next will forever change me.
It was a city, bigger than any of the known cities he has visited. But while those cities embraced images of stardom, regal, or just basic life. This city image was pure pain and misery. Thousands of towers reaching for the skies might had looked impressive years or even centuries ago, but now they could only be described as bones marking untold graves to all sides, attempting to reach the skies to avoid their fate. From the streets ponies with chained harnesses walked around as in an eternal trance. Running towards them Zeke only though was to removed those accursed chains and get them as far away as possible. A few slashes from his wings should have done it, but to his shock the chains regrew and the ponies didn't even reacted to his presence, looking at their eyes all he could see was a glooming sadness. Grabbing the harness of the nearest pony turned out worst, for as soon as he got a firm hold of it his mind was assaulted with images of constant agony and those unforgiving glaring down at him, Zeke flew backwards in fright. These ponies have completely given up all hope. Feeling desperate he flew upwards to the skies, just to know where they were going, the view was worst. Fire pits marked locations where Diamonds Dogs were found making rounds, torturing them, whipping them. And the ponies continue their endless march in a endless circle. Miles and miles of fertile land wasted and left to rot.
Looking over the horizon he could see several gates and pillars marking the edges of this kingdom. However those towers looked more crooked and unstable than the buildings and the houses he passed by. A change in the wind was all the warning got to dive for cover in one of its many towers as a dragon made a pass were he just was. Fallowing the dragon's flight path Zeke finally saw the center of this decayed city. By anyponies else view they could call it a castle. For Zeke it looked more like a giant skull holding a torch with dark flames at the top like a lighthouse all the shape of a castle. 'How can this be?! Where ever this is Celestia would have cleansed this whole place withing the next sunrise!' how is possible is irrelevant, he cant act to save the prisoners and what ever is doing this for what ever reason probably has found a way do continue without Princess Celestia or Princess Luna's knowledge.
The answer is clear, he needs to find that doctor and head towards Canterlot as fast as his wings can take him. It didn't took him long to find the Doctor, he found him examining the marching ponies. His smile completely gone from his face, Zeke could not blame him, seeing this is depressing enough but if he also saw what Zeke did by touching it...Zeke needs to get them out now. "Doctor! Come with me, I need to get you to safety-" "Not going" "I understand you wanting to help them, but right now what we can do is contact the royal guards and the Princess, and I can't do that while protecting a civilian" "Protecting me? Why the heck for?" "Doctor, whatever your name is; we need to get out and look for higher authority. I maybe a royal guard, but even i can't help these people as we are. And even calling yourself a doctor, all I've seen you do is acting like a mad pony!" ":sigh: This is why I hate working with the military. Oh I hate doing this, Zeke lets go to basics first history background" "Now what are you-Owwwww!!" The Doctor takes hold of Zeke's head and head butts him. "Owwwwwww!!!"
After slowly recovering from the head drama, Zeke is bombarded by images from monsters, planets, creatures, and worlds of all forms and kinds. Before he fully opened his eyes, he finally understood whit Who he was talking with. This pony in a strange box is in fact a Time Lord. "!!! You-!?" "Yeah number 12, long story short new universe could not resist, so I said 'What the heck!' And now here we are, any questions No Great now look at this! Its completely Brilliant! Its been twisted sure but the possibilities!" Illuminating the streets and the chains with his screwdriver. What he revealed where the same roots that lead us from the sewers to the surface "Whoever designed this kingdom made it so that it worked like a living body; Gathering and consuming anything that its discarded and turning it into energy for not just for the city but for every souls born within" Looking at the marching ponies Zeke could have sworn that his eyes grew older and colder "Ah but theres must always be a master circuit, something that keeps all of it together, something to push it and mold all of this into their own designed; and to make it permanent who ever it is its using the ponies as a conductor to keep changing it to their model version of home"
Shaking off his dizziness Zeke tried to see what was he talking about "O-okay putting the fact that im speaking to a alien, what are you saying exactly? Their are making them experience pain and fear in order for the city to change into a image of pain and fear?" Suddenly turning with a half grin than before the Doctor nodded "If it helps then yes thats one way to sum it all up" Now Zeke felt like a new recruit back in the academy, asking every change he gets for pointers "Okay so now that we know how this all work then how can we stop it? The security is less tight here than underground but we are still outnumbered here, do you have a plan?.....why are you looking at me like that?" Zeke asked the Doctor as the time lord turned to him with the same mad grin he had on when all of this started. "Well thats a pickle you see, I do have a plan, but it all depends on your next answer" 'Why do I feel like im going to regret this?' "Okay, then what do you have planed" Placing a hoof on his shoulder the doctor dragged him to one of the empty towers "Do you mind wearing a cape?"
Inside the Crystal palace the ruler of this decaying city looked down at his slaves, sadistic joy decorated his face. Even though he was forced to act sooner than he planned victory was still completely his and his alone 'Especially now that Ive captured your protector, wait for me Star, once your daughters have fallen you will be MINE'. Footsteps behind him confirmed that his battalion have succeeded in their mission 'Now, lets see what else they were panning' taking his place on his throne of thorns the dark unicorn watched as the doors to his throne room opened to revealed his puppets dragging a brown earth pony with an hourglass cutie mark; the pony himself did not appeared distressed in fact he appears to be admiring the castle interior decoration "Blimey! You really went all out for the Gothic look didn't you, personally I don't like it but to each his own eh" looking at the dark unicorn the Doctors eyes hardened "Hello Sombra".
20 minutes earlier
"Why am I dressed like this?" Zeke felt ridiculous, the Doctor had ripped a random curtain and forced in into make shift cape and bandanna, the bandanna itself covered most of his face except his eyes while the cape or rags like Zeke like to call it covered his wings and hooves "This thing is ridiculous! How is this gonna help with that plan of yours?" looking hurt the doctor finished placing what he calls an ear piece on his ear "Oi! Don't dis my work, if I really wanted to make you look silly I would just have painted you a target sign now cheer up" taking a few steps back the doctor admired his work. "I admit not my finest work but much better considering the circumstances, Just don't tell Rarity she would have my tail if she saw what I'm making you wear".
Moving towards the roof I pointed out the castle at the center of the city, wile I was pointing the shortest way to I facehoof myself as I noticed that he was already at ground level heading straight for it. Turning around the Doctor waved at me when all of a sudden I could hear his voice in my ear "Testing 1 2 3, Can you hear me Zeke" surprised by this I just pressed down on my ear "I can, does this work everywhere? ....wait where were you hiding these?" my mind was reeling with numerous tactical advantages it can give the royal guards back home "Not unless you cross dimension's, as for how you will have to ask Pinkie Pie oh she is just BRILLIANT! Now remember, stay clear of the dragon, with any luck it probably returned to its cave under the castle, and be careful of the guards, they are far fragile than they look" moving further away Zeke took flight towards the closest tower "I just hope this works" the Doctor responded again from the ear-piece "Trust me, I'm The Doctor".
Present:
Zeke had reach the closest tower but to his surprise it was by the Diamond Dogs in a circular formation around the base. Getting near them without them noticing him was out of the question, however he was on a short schedule so theres only one alternative, good thing he was alone, less distraction. Bolting out of the shadows Zeke made a dash towards the guards, in no time they moved to intercept launching their spears as soon as he got withing firing range. Holding his cape with his wings the bat pony made a show of jumping over the projectiles, landing behind the guards Zeke didn't wasted time and bucket his rear hooves to incapacitate his target :Crash!: "?!" avoiding the guards at the sides by running up the wall and backfilling behind them Zeke revealed his concealed wings and using them as large hands toked hold of their heads and smashed their heads together :Crash!:.
This time Zeke could see what was the cause of the noise, it was the sound of the guards breaking into glass, he instantly remembered the Doctor's words 'they are far fragile than they look' Zeke ducked and rolled to the side as another tried to land on him only to land over his cape which promptly pulled to trip him but not before delivering a solid right hoof to its jaws :Crash!:. Glancing at the remaining 2 guards Zeke's yellow eyes were glowing 'Times up, RUN!' the guards turned to run only to get sliced in half as Zeke ran passed them, cutting them with his wings :Crash! Crash!: Taking to the skies Zeke wore a smirk as finally things were going on their favor "Now! Its time for a wake up call!" Zeke folded his wings into a nose dive.
Crystal Palace:
"Thats King Sombra to you Peasant!!" one of the Diamond Dogs holding the Doctor growled, again the Doctor was not impressed "Please Sombra, using your magic to make puppets talk is a show for the kids" lifting his sonic screwdriver all the Doctor did was aimed it to the roof and all the dogs crystallized and broke apart around him "Now really, I'm curios to know why are you keeping them alive, I'm glad! Really glad that their alright, well scared but still alive Ow!" looking at his sonic screwdriver the Doctor was surprised to see it getting encased inside a dark crystal, looking at Sombras smirk revealed the culprit right away. "As expected of Celestia's guardian, nothing could get away from your eyes; although you are my enemy, my predecessor talked very highly of you, so I will give you one chance 'Join Me'".
The Doctor tilted his head taking everything he heard to mind "Well sorry to say this but I don't like playing dodge-ball, pretty rubbish game, No whats going to happen is this, Celestia and Luna will arrest you, and if you release those ponies down there now you might get a lighter punishment. Because personally....I would not be as merciful as they are...Now I understand you using their Fear, their Misery and Pain to convert that into energy but what for? Your clearly not absorbing it, you aren't making an army So.....Oh...oh you...what have you done?" The Doctor was looking at the floor at King Sombra's hooves as the answer finally click in. On the background large booming crashes could be heard one after another, looking outside the window they could see the towers that circulated King Sombra's Empire falling over one another like domino figures. But as soon as the last tower fell the land surrounding the empire were consumed by a growing shadow extending from all corners of the empire, dark crystal towers sprung from them, plant life were reduced to ash, and any nearby creatures that were caught on the growing shadow were devoured into nothing but bones.
"...you transfer all of that energy into your shadow, making it grow until it covered the entire city, you cannibalized them...Your own subjects in order to used the city's system to extend its influence to the whole world; but you are clever, your shadow needed time to grow so you hid this city for such a long time, to the point nopony remembered if it ever existed". The Doctor forced himself to look away from the carnage to zero in on the laughing King in his throne "I thank you 'DOCTOR' with your help I was able to deliver my message to the princesses without harming my Empire! And now for our reward!" a cry from the sky fallowed by a blinding explosion on the horizon was all the warning they got. Celestia knows, and the Sun Goddess is angry.
Border of the Empire:
Zeke looked on from his hiding perch as the dark crystals that sprang from the ground started spewing wave after wave of those fake Diamond Dogs while other actually took the form of a fully ground dragon. Fragile they might be they were becoming far too many, even if Celestia and the Royal guards could break through they still had the problem of saving the civilians who were now hostages and stop that growing shadow "What the hay do we do now!".
Celestia and Luna felt it before they saw it. Like a stain on a untented wound that had been left to fester for too long finally got uncovered spreading foul odors and sickness. Flying to the north the sisters immediately started their cleansing, eradicating those accursed growing towers that were spreading that ominous shadow. As the crystal towers fell by the hundreds so did their creations, the fake dragons and diamond dogs shattered at their passing, some tried to intercept them but their efforts proved futile as they all shattered at the end. As they neared the source of the shadow they were surprised to find a city of such magnitude so far into the north, none of them remembered ever hearing or seeing it before, but they will get to the bottom of it soon.
"Stop it! Stop it now Sombra!" The Doctor confronted the king as he stomped down hard, shattering the crystal that consumed his sonic device while his back was turned. King Sombra paid him no heed as he just casually moved back to the center of the throne room "Now Doctor, you and the heavens shall witness the true power of MY EMPIRE!!" and with a roar King Sombra unleashed a wave of pure dark energy to the top of the flaming tower causing the flames to blow out and explode so violently the shock waves were felt all across the world. Celestia and Luna had just arrived over the empires air space when the explosion took them by surprise; the wave strong enough to forced them both to land but they both felt it, the blast carried something else, something that now was slowly encasing them inside the same dark crystal they had been destroying on the way here.
All around the city the civilians stopped their march and fell where they stood. The harnesses let go of all of them and as if they were alive they slithered away like snakes, towards the fallen princesses. Luna had moved next to her sister to help her orient herself when the first sets of harnesses bit down on her rear hooves and right wing. Back in the palace the Doctor look down in horror as the sister screamed in agony as more and more chains wrapped around them; he finally saw what the King real plan was all along "Those chains weren't there to restrain them, they were to absorb their pain and misery not just for your shadow, but so that you could inflict all of it to the next poor soul" looking back at the king he felt revulsion at what he saw, King Sombra was in pure bliss, hearing their screams wasn't enough no he wanted to drown in it, so much so that he transferred his mind into the harnesses with every intention of making their end as painful as he could make it. "And once again Doctor, history has finally been corrected, wouldn't you say?...Doctor?".
His victory was suddenly stripped away because what he saw next wasn't the glaring eyes of the Doctor. It was an annoyed Doctor fixing a broken down pocket watch "You dare-?!" now the Doctor glared at him "Oh shut it you, now no wonder I was confused bloody thing got loose when I landed in the water!" Closing and reopening the watch he smirked at King Sombra "Oh sorry, got bored, not really my thing- well only with River but thats beside the point; now I'm surprised because yes like you believe 'This' is a pin point in time, everything that happens now happens so I must applaud your ego....but you have forgotten one Itsy bitsy problem" King Sombra only glared "I do not make MISTAKES!" at that the Doctor laugh out right "Oh but you want to listen to this! When is the Doctor ever alone?".
At that moment the glass Window over his throne blew to a thousand pieces reveling Zeke blasting his way threw. To protect himself from the glass Sombra created a shield of spikes from them ground and proceed to launch them at where Zeke had popped out from only to hit air, because the cape covered his wings Zeke use the falling shards to cover his flight as Sombra just assumed that he was an earth pony, from over to behind the King. Next thing Sombra knew the rags that Zeke was using for a cape was wrapped around his face and like a sling Zeke threw the so called king against his throne rags and all. "So thats why you made me dress like this?".
Back in the ground the chains slacked as the control from King Sombra was abruptly disconnected. Celestia and Luna wasted no chance. In a twin pillars of light the princesses broken free and with a glaring glance they destroyed the accursed chains to ashes. At the same time Sombra had recovered from his head blow when both Princesses appeared before him. Sombra just lost it, years of clever planning gone with one single act 'he would never accept it, the universe was his and only his!' he launched himself at the princesses deciding to win with pure force!
Above them the magical dual had begun; Zeke fallowed the Doctor to the bottom of the tower where he was explaining that main controls of the entire city were there "Quickly now we don't have much time!" at this Zeke got confused "Why not? Cant you hear that?" he pointed at the shakes and the explosions "Sounds to me like that lunatic its getting what was coming for him" scanning the floor the Doctor revealed a panel where he proceed to type like crazy "Yes I would agree! Except he is not just a mad pony! He is a egomaniac mad pony! In other words if or in this case when he loses the city will-" Zeke now looked up worried "Wait he would destroy this whole city just because he lost?!" another explosion "Yep!".
"Alright! The city should have several functions to save and preserve it, if I just could find-BLAST!" the Doctor slammed the controls. "What's wrong?!" Zeke was flying over him "Theres no power! The original battery has been moved! what he had been using as a power source was his shadow! Blimey that fist explosion was probably the original battery getting zapped!" Blocking some falling debris "So cant we do the same thing!" "With what? What we need is something so powerful that can affect the whole city, the Tardis is miles away, we wont make it in time!" "Well cant you find anything else nearby!?" "Hold on lets me-" suddenly Zeke felt a force pulling him at the center of the floor "WHOA! HEY!!" Without using his wings Zeke was left hovering in the spot being forced to spin around each time faster and faster "DOCTOR stop this crazy thing!!" "Wait a minute why-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EUREKA!!! OH YOU BEAUTY!! HA HA HA!!!!" "Doctor?!" "When you crashed into my Tardis! Your body got bombarded with Atron energy! Normally it will slowly leave your body; But the system has reached for the closest energy source and WHAM! It picked you!" "I'm getting DIZZY!!" Zeke was spinning faster and faster holding his mouth "Not to worry, you will pass out after getting all of it sucked out of you!" "WHAT?!" "Now say CHEESE!!" "NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!" and the world turned white.
"Wha-Owww! Cramp's!" Zeke regretted waking up, for one he had the most bizarre dream, and second the slightest movement caused pain in every pore of his body. "Well at least the bed is comfy.....comfy?" with a lot of trouble Zeke moved his head to look around, only to be met with a familiar ceiling "....It wasn't a dream?" Zeke could now hear that sound again, the sound of the Tardis. Zeke gave up on standing and proceed to question the Doctor once his body stopped aching. Or tried to.
"Rise and shine!" only words of warning the Doctor gave Zeke as he blasted his ears with a pocket horn. Which resulted in Zeke jumping to the roof like a scared cat "DOCTOR!" landing on the floor Zeke noticed that the pain was gone "Now thats better, wouldn't want you to miss all the fun!" running out of the room the Doctor left Zeke no option than to fallow him out.
"Hey Doctor! What happened? The city, what happened-...to...whoa" walking outside the doors of the Tardis was a scenery he never would have believed, a Crystal Empire, gone were the bone like buildings replaced by towers of sparkling diamonds of all kinds. The tortured ponies, now smiling living their lives free as if what happened to them was a thing of the past. At the center no longer was there a skull shaped deformed light house, but a tall proper Castle reaching to the sky, reflecting sunlight and glimmering with abundances of life. Life, thats the best way for him to explain it. "This..where?" for a moment I thought maybe this was another city entirely. This just contd had been the same city as before. "The city absorbed and copied the Artron energy that got trapped inside of you, using the defense system to create a shield around the city instantly launched us into the future, 1000 years or so according to the my readings. Oh and to make it even better after the city was disconnected from Sombra the setting on the city returned to normal! Well normal meaning after he almost blew it up".
This was...was there really a word to describe this? "We saved them?" relief, amazing, fantastic; is this is how it is with him? Traveling to worlds and time in trouble and just fixing it just like this? '...save me' ...Is this the mission the Princess wanted him to be on? To fallow this alien to save somepony? If it is, its certainly worth it if it can affect so many lives.
At that the Doctor smacked him on the back of his head "You did Zeke boy! Ha! Oh I just love days like these, sorry for the ride but at least we know that hair grows back!" that got him out of his paralysis.
"Wait. What? What hair?" "Well you still had the bandanna on, and well the system was very hasty in extracting" "?! Please don't tell me!" "Not to worry! By the time we drop you back nopony will ever noticed that you burned of your hair!" "WHAT?!?!" feeling naked Zeke made a mad dash back to the room the Doctor had him in. "Its not permanent! ...."
The Doctor happy mood soured as he turned to look back at the city, as he remembered the trip he performed while Zeke was recovering.
Canterlot year 1002 CE
Celestia had wished her sister a goodnight as she returned to her quarters to enter her own rest cycle. Upon entering her room she slowly closed the door as the Tardis materialized inside. The Sun Goddess waited for the Time Lord to made his presence known, and when he did he was not pleased "No mail, no warning, not even a hello and suddenly this!" sitting next to her bed the Doctor glared at Celestia as she slowly lay down to rest "What in the world possessed you two in thinking that I would take anyone you girls throw at me?".
Celestia opened her eyes and looked at the Doctor sternly "Oh princess not the look!....FINE! Just for now, because he is a good bloke...but I must know....look at me Celestia....I must know if you want him to continue like this?" Celestia looked at her fire place as her mind drifted to memories long past "Tia you know the others come with me by choice, I do not make them. Heck you and Luna should know this more than anypony!" not hearing a response from Celestia the Doctor moved to leave into his Tardis.
"...my wish...is that he fulfill his promise" the Doctor turned to look at her. "What promise?" Celestia moved her head down on her bed. "And what I hope, is for you to save him, old friend".
Present Tardis time
Slightly disturbed to hear Celestia keeping secrets, the Doctor decided to face that problem when he got to it, for now he needs to help a traumatized royal guard grow his hair back.
"Still in one piece Zeke?" "I looked like I have SUNBURN!" "HA! Not to worry! I got the place they treat bad hair day cases like your's!" "Really? Where?!" "You really want to come?" "Hey! First for the hair...and then well talk about traveling the universe!" Zeke might have his duties back at the castle, but who really would want to miss an opportunity like this! Maybe during his free days, oh the possibilities were endless! "Okay then, lets see what the universe has in store for you! Onwards and Upwards!"
