"Done Pinkie!" Rainbow Dash shouted loudly as she slowed herself down to land. She just performed a triple Sonic Rainboom for the first time, and boy, was she proud of it. Pinkie Pie clicked the 'stop' button on the yellow stop watch she was holding. Her expression of happiness then turned into a frown.
"Was it under a minute Pinkie?" Rainbow asked between pants. Pinkie shook her head sadly and said, "One minute and three seconds." Rainbow stomped her hoof on the ground angrily.
"The Wonderbolts will never be impressed if I don't perform a triple Sonic Rainboom!" She said frowning. Pinkie Pie, sad to see her friend so upset, tried to cheer her up.
"Oh come on Dashie! You can impress them by doing loads of other things!" Pinkie said, smiling brightly. Rainbow looked up from the ground.
"Oh yeah, like what?" She asked, not buying it.
"How about flying through an obstacle of clouds under thirty seconds?" Pinkie suggested. "You're great at that!" She added.
"Pfft, that's kid stuff." Rainbow said smirking. "Yet, I am good at it." She said as she took off to the sky.
"Watch!" Rainbow called over her shoulder. She dashed through clouds without breaking a sweat nor laying one hoof on a cloud. Pinkie's eyes filled with excitement. Rainbow landed ten seconds later.
"Fifteen seconds. I'm that awesome, huh?" Rainbow asked, holding her head high.
"Super-duper totally awesome!" Pinkie said, jumping up and down.
"Heheh.."

Rainbow flew toward the Wonderbolts Academy, full of worry. What would the Wonderbolts think of her today? Good? Bad? And when would she perform a triple Sonic Rainboom under one minute? So many questions filled her head as she saw they Wonderbolts Academy in the distance. As she landed, she saw some pegasus's warming up for the day. She was about to join them when a yellow pegasus blocked her and asked, "Name?"
"Um...Rainbow Dash..." This was new.
"Go in." The pegasus said, stepping away from her. Rainbow Dash quickly walked away toward the other pegasus's. That was weird... Rainbow thought. However, she pushed it out of her mind, and started warming up.
And still, she wondered if the Wonderolts would accept her.

Spitfire walked toward the pegasus's warming up and yelled, "Alright ladies, GET IN LINE!" The pegasus's quickly flew toward
Spitfire to form a line.
Once everyone was there, a male pegasus said, "Hey, I'm not a lady."
Spitfire then walked right up to his face and said, "Does it look I care?!" The male pegasus gulped.
"N-no ma-ma'am..." He stuttered.
Spitfire turned away and said, "Now, lets start off the day by showing us new moves and what not." Crap. Rainbow thought. She hoped Spitfire would have forgotten.
"Who would like to go first?" Spitfire asked. Rainbow tried to hide behind a few pegasus's. Then an black pegasus raised her hoof.
"Go ahead Storm Cloud." Spitfire said as the black pegasus, known as Storm Cloud, began to fly off toward the sky. Thank Celestia I wasn't chosen! Rainbow thought as a smile appeared on her face. All she had to do was hide and not raise her hoof. As the last few pegasus's we're flying, Spitfire asked, "Who's next?" Spitfire looked at her list then at her group.
"Rainbow Dash. You're next." Spitfire said.
Rainbow sighed angrily and muttered, "Drat." She stepped out her hiding spot and faked a smile.
"Oh...um...yay.." She said, trying to make it sound real.
Spitfire raised an eyebrow and said, "Ok, go." Rainbow began fly up and started to think. She could do a double Sonic Rainboom under twenty seconds, but they've already seen that. The cloud obstacle course was way too kiddie-like. She knew she had to try the Triple Sonic Rainboom.
"Ma'am, do you have a stop watch?" Rainbow asked before taking off.
"Um, yeah." Spitfire said.
"Good, because I'm going to do a triple Sonic Rainboom under one minute." Rainbow said. I hope.. She added in her mind. She flew up, up, up and down, down, down as fast as her wings could go.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Two more times...thity seconds...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Twenty eight seconds...one more time...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Finished. There where a series of "ohhs" and "ahhs" as Rainbow landed and asked Spitfire, "How many seconds?" Please be good... She thought.
"One minute and two seconds." Spitfire said.
"Fantastic." Rainbow mumbled.

Rainbow sighed as she poked at her food. The Wonderbolts wouldn't accept her, she knew it. Who would accept a pegasus who couldn't do a triple Sonic Rainbooom under one stupid minute? As she stared at her food, a light blue pegagsus walked up to her.
"I agree, the food here isn't really tastey, huh?" He said. Rainbow looked up from her food and gasped.
"S-Soarin!" She said shocked.
Soarin smirked and said, "The one and only." Rinbow smiled happpily. She couldn't believe the Soarin was accutally talking to her. He had talked to her at the Gala, but they weren't exactly 'talking' the whole time.
"Why sad Rainbow?" He asked, HE KNOWS MY NAME!!
"Because I'll never be a Wonderbolt.." She mumbled. Soarin raised an eyebrow.
"What makes you think not?" He asked.
"Because I can't do a triple Sonic Rainboom under one minute." Rainbow said. Soarin laughed at her.
"Seriously? Rainbow Dash, you're the only pony to ever perform a Sonic Rainboom, was chosen as Best Youngest Flyer, and saved our lives. So you really think you won't be a Wonderbolt after all that?" Soarin asked. Rainbow was silent. She hadn't really thought about that.
"Welll, now that you say that..." Rainbow said smiling. "I could be a Wonderbolt!" She said happily.
"I can see you being a Wonderbolt." Soarin said smiling.
"Really? You can?" Rainbow asked.
"Yup." He said. He looked at the clock on the cafeteria wall and said, "I gotta get going. Work to do. See you later." He said walking away. I can't believe Soarin thinks I could be a Wonderbolt. This is AWESOME! Rainbow thought.
Maybe there was hope after all.
