> Point Fifty > by ColoradoBlueJay > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Sequence: One. Chapter: one > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main character of story "All men are created equal and have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Thomas Jefferson, In the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776 The cave dwellings loomed over the group that sought to take refuge inside. It was cold, wet, and dark. The instruments they brought down with them from the surface; hummed with low auditability. The human known as Desmond Miles walked around impatiently. "They should have been back by know, where are they?" asked Desmond in a furitated tone. "They will be back soon just get back onto the animus." said Rebecca with a false reassuring voice. Desmond sighed and walced on over to the machine. "Don't worry they will be fine." Desmond layed down on the animus and drifted off to sleep. Yet he could hear the voices of Rebecca and Shaun talking. "Well pull him the bloody hell out if something's wrong." "It's not that something's wrong Shaun, it's just not going to Connor, just, well some where else." "Some where else; the world is ending, we don't have much time to be going some where else do we!" "Just let it do it's own thing. I mean it cant hurt, so far its been turning up with information that's reliable for us to use." "Okay... fine have it your way." The animus quickly generated a complete unknown landscape to Desmond. He looked around and noticed that he was high above the ground. A quick realization hit him as he looked at his "ancestor's" body. "Why the hell am I a horse?" The sound of a door being broke down snapped through the air. "Stop right where you are at!" said another pony who wore golden armor. Desmond's ancestor looked back down at the ground below. With out a second thought his ancestor flung himself off the tower and into a bush of flowers below. The civilians backed away from the pony who just jumped off a high tower and survived. They all ran away in fright when the sound of marching came toward the assassin. They marched along and stopped directly in front of the lone assassin. The formation carried muskets, while on the each end carried long golden spears. Desmond could tell that they were beginning to take aim, he seen it from Connor's memory and he knew it for a fact, even if it was horses. The ponies holstered the long rifle and aimed at the assassin. Desmond's ancestor sprinted behind a wooden cart. The ponies fired at the cart making huge holes and splinters fly in random direction. The assassin jumped over the cart and charged the reloading guards. The familiar sound of a hidden blade sliding out screamed for bloodshed. The blade slid into a guard's neck letting blood spill out onto the cobble stone streets. One by one each guard fell by the might of the assassin. A guard with a golden spear swung. The assassin dodged it with hardly any effort. Swinging again the guard still missed. The assassin rolled over the spear and shoved the hidden blade into the guard's chest. The guard looked down at the ground and fell dead on the street. The assassin walked through the streets; blending with the crowd. The sound of trumpets blaring made every soul stop and look towards the sound. "Here ye' here ye'. Princess Celestia has something to share with the public." The stallion stepped back a bit and let a regal snow white alicorn take the stage. "My little ponies, I have to bear bad news to all. A murderer has killed some of Equestria's best. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to these gentlecolts and hope they find peace. Now I urge you to notify the guards if you see this pony any where at all." She held a large piece of paper showing a description with a picture of the pony drawn on it. The crowd gasped and a couple eyes looked at the assassin standing completely still. "YOUR HIGHNESS HE IS RIGHT HERE!" The assassin grabbed the pony who blurted out with his hooves and knocked him out. "Seize him!" The assassin ran through the crowd of ponies, all the while being chased by guards. The assassin ran into a dead-end alleyway. He started to run back but was cut off by the guards. "Stop right there!" The alicorn pushed through the guards and stood her ground looking strait at the pony with a menacing glare. The assassin instinctively pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it at the ground. The white cloud filled the air making the ponies cough and wheeze. Quickly the assassin jumped at a wall and extended his hook blade and started the climb up the white marble house. Once on the golden roof top, the assassin ran from roof top to roof top. Once in the clear, the assassin bolted across the street and into a house window. Inside hung from the ceiling was the assassin's symbol. The home was candle lit and the flames flickered on the white walls. The assassin took off his bracers and neatly placed them on a night stand. Next he un-hooked the bandolier which held his pistol and other equipment needed. hoof steps came from out the hallway and came into the room. the assassin turned and looked at a mare with a light blue coat and white mane and tail with a light blue streak running down the left side. Her velvet eye's met the bronze off his eye's. "Azure (ash-ure) you've been out a while." she said rubbing herself against Azure's smoke white body. "Yes that I have." "Its been a little bit to long since you been with me." she said teasing him towards the bed she had just sat down on. Azure took the rest of his black and silver robes off and folded them neatly and tucked them away. His wife kissed him along the neck and made it along to his face. He returned the gesture and kissed her sweet lip's. Desmond woke up and breathed heavily as the machine hummed. "Well that was certainly... interesting." Shaun said. "Yeah tell me about it." Desmond said placing his hand on his forehead. "We can go back in I mean if that's if you want to continue with Azure or Connor?" Rebecca asked. "Lets see where this will take us." "Well then that's splendid, but we must get back to Connor if we are to save the world from certain destruction." Shaun exclaimed. "I think that he has a point Desmond you outta re-think that." "My decision is final, we will have to see where this takes us." with that Shaun threw his hands up in the air and walked over to the glowing wall of energy. > Sequence: One. Chapter: Two > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death." Patrick Henry, n.d. Desmond thought about his decision to a point of a headache. "I can go back to Connor and continue his journey or I can see what this pony assassin can give me." He made his verdict and walked over to Rebecca. "Oh hey Desmond are you ready to go back to Connor?" she asked with uncertainty in her voice. Desmond situated himself on the animus. "No, take me to Azure." Rebecca sighed and sat down at the animus' controls. The machine hummed and which in turn put Desmond into a deep sleep. Azure walked down Canterlot's dark streets. He did not wear his normal assassin robes he would have, but rather had a white flowing cape to hide his cutie mark. He carried a gold and silver dagger underneath the white under garment. "Good evening Azure, how's everything going?" greeted a guard. "Fairly well captain Strong wind, as for you?" Captain Strong wind smiled. "Oh the usual, just standing here all day with nothing to do." Azure nodded and entered the castle grounds. Rich and luscious green life was every where. A few birds chirping and the toads croaking near the running river. "What a sight." said Desmond. It wasn't till Azure reached a tall door that had opened magically by itself. Another alicorn greeted Azure by the door, but this one was a midnight blue instead of white. Azure respectively bowed to the alicorn before him. She smiled. "Salutations princess Luna." "marvelous evening to you Azure, may we discuss whatever it may be you wanted my "input" on?" "Yes of coarse princess, do you have somewhere more private we may discuss?" "I do. So would you please follow me." Azure followed the moon goddess down the white marble hallways of the castle. It wasn't long before they came to a stop in front a black door with a crescent moon symbolized on it. The doors swung open and revealed a whole other hallway; more dark and gothic in its own way. From there the two entered into another room that appeared to be some sort of library. Luna fluffed a pillow and resumed to sit on it. She poured a cup of tea and motioned to Azure for some. He waved it off with his hoof. "So what is it that you wanted to speak of?" Azure scratched his chin and cleared his throught. "I know this may be a sensitive subject for us to dis.........." "I'm terribly sorry Azure, but we will not give you any information as to where the two elements are, hence we have not many clues." "Princess Luna, please hear me out," She narrowed her frown. "I am not from any of the company's searching for the elements." "How can I be certain." Azure looked closely into her eyes. "Please princess I need any information that you may have, the sake of Equestria rest on it." "Please explain." she simply stated. "I have reason to believe that one certain company will find them and use the element's power to do un-imaginable things." She seemed rather distraught after Azure said that. She started to tremble a bit, but still had her eye's fixated on Azure's. "Princess are you alright?!" she gasped suddenly fell down to the floor. Behind her was another pony with a blow tube. The assailant ran towards a window but was forced to the ground by a eight inch dagger stuck in the back of his neck. Turning Azure rushed to aid the princess. He pulled out a small vile and let the lunar princess sip from it. Azure felt her head. The temper started to go away and restore to its previous state. Some guards rushed in and helped the princess to her hooves. They were walking out when Luna stopped them. "Go to Ponyville, and find the librarian Twilight Sparkle." She coughed and continued her way out. Azure turned to the dead body on the floor. He plucked the dagger out of the assailant's neck and wiped the blood off on the crimson coat of the dead pegasus. Swiftly Azure placed the dagger inside his under-garment and proceeded out of the castle. Azure trotted down the street and barged into his house in a hurry. His wife seemed appalled by the way he just entered and ran up the stairs. Quickly he threw his clothes off and replaced them with his robes, then bandolier and pistol. His sword came next as he strapped it on. Next he placed his steel grey assassin bracers and checked if they operated correctly. Satisfied with his equipment he placed the hood over his head and proceeded back down stairs. His wife wore an angry expression. "I'm sorry Snowdrop but I must leave." He said as she kissed him. "Please be careful." she said staring into his eyes with a worried look. "As the same for you my love." He kissed her on the head and rushed back out the door. The streets were couldn't of have been more silent as Azure ran down the streets. Some one called for help. Azure turned his attention to the plea. He saw a mare being robbed by a bigger stallion. He was in a hurry so he had no time to engage the stallion. He brought to bear his pistol and with a ear splitting crack; the stallion dropped dead and the mare jumped up in the air and ran away. He placed the gun powder pistol back into its respectful harness without reloading it. It took him a while to reach the train station, but not with a moment to spare. The long locomotive engine pulled into the station letting out a load hiss. Azure went up to the ticket window and placed his bits on the counter. The stallion gave him a look before giving Azure the train ticket. He took the ticket and boarded the train. It was quiet, just the way he liked it. He took a seat and looked out the window. The steam rose from the ground obscuring his vision slightly. But in the mist of that he thought he saw Templar. He blinked but saw nothing there. "It seems that rest would come in handy." He removed the hood off his head and closed his eyes. The train rolled out of the station giving a long whistle. The train rode along at a steady pace and barely ever shaking from the tracks. Azure awoke from his slumber and looked back out the window. The sun was already rising and spread a dim light across the valley. The train screeched to a stop at the Ponyville station. He was first one off and trotted on past the main gates and out into the town of Ponyville... > Azure's Tomes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the age of six Azure has trained with the creed of the assassins and eventually became the creed itself. He lives life day to day by it. Master assassin True Mark trained Azure to the best of his ability's. When Azure reached the rank of master assassin, True mark met a horrible demise as he was hung from the gallows and Azure watched not being to do anything. By the age of thirty two Azure had killed over twenty important Templar leaders and their followers. Azure had became a clever escape artist and made his kills, very messy. Azure always left a bloody heap of an example for the public eye to see. But always after a Templar kill, he would always pull out their pendants of the Templar order. As years passed he began to home the free running skill to evade enemies. He became very good at this and used it to his advantage. At the age thirty five he married Snow Drop. A light blue unicorn with a blue streak running down the length of her mane. Azure never wanted for her to be a part of the order due to the extreme danger that was placed upon the assassins. They had a child and named him Nixs. But Nixs never survived past the age of one years old. Becoming more and more apparent that the assassins guild in Equestria wouldn't last very long with out more members. Azure set out to find recruits, often finding ponies who were being harassed by the Templars or had a certain skill set. It took Azure months to find a recruit, but so he trained the recruit. The recruit who had just made it through training died by a royal guard raid in his home. Azure later stated that. "Anypony who joins the assassins, are already at a risk of death. Before they even know it." At the age of thirty seven, Azure was at a time of peace. Hardly any Templars were around. So Azure took this moment of prosperity to relax and read tomes of history. One day while reading a peculiar tome about an apple, Azure met an elderly pony who sat before him. The old pony had said nothing and just watched the assassin read. The pony had finally spoken and looked Azure strait into the eyes; glaring like daggers. The pony said "I know who you are and what you have done." But all Azure did was look back at the frail pony. "I am a Templar and I must say your work is quite fascinating." At that point azure was about ready to kill the old pony that sat before him. "Please, before you do anything, I have left them and their vile ways. But I must inform you that Abstergo is searching Equestria for the two missing elements that disappeared fifty years ago. So you need to find them before they do." So ever since that day, Azure has been looking over Equestria for the two missing elements. They could be dead for all he knew but he a had to find them first if the Templars were to use them. > Sequence: One. Chapter: Three > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Nevertheless, to the persecution and tyranny of his cruel ministry we will not tamely submit -- appealing to Heaven for the justice of our cause, we determine to die or be free." Joseph Warren, 1775 Ponyville was a bustle of life in the wee hours of the morning. Azure made his way through the town, weaving his way past the innocents. Shops had a wide variety of smells and items to behold. Something caught Azure's eye though. Azure made his way to a weapons stand and looked at the wide selection. Swords, muskets, knifes, spears, everything possibly imaginable. But in the middle of the stand was a intricate piece of creation. A tomahawk. Azure picked it up and steadied it in his hooves. He closely inspected it. It seemed to bear the assassins insignia, but also seemed a tad bit off. Azure twirled it, feeling the lightness of the tomahawk. "See anything you like?" The gruff stand owner asked. "Yes I find myself under a trance from this tomahawk. I think I'll buy it." Azure said, letting the tomahawk twirl around his hoof. "Excellent choice good sir. That will be eighty two bits." "Eighty two? Seems a bit to pricey." Azure thought about it and he handed the owner the money. "Will that be all sir?" The owner asked, inspecting the money. "Yes my good fellow, have a wonderful day." Azure trotted away inspecting the tomahawk even more. Azure looked around the new environment. The houses haven't changed much, almost like a new meets old sort of scenario. A fountain pushed blue cysteine water high into the air. A pony ran into him and the white mare tripped on top of Azure. The pony wasn't quick to get up, but managed to. "I'm terribly sorry, I didn't mean to crash into like that." The pony said innocently. "It's completely fine." Azure reassured helping pick up the assortment of fabrics sprawled across the ground. He studied the mare. A darker white coat, A grey faded blue mane and tail, and had three blue diamonds for a cutie mark. The white pony smiled at Azure with upmost grace. "Thank you... Pardon, but what is your name?" "Azure madam, and pre tell who are you?" "Oh please don't call me madam, you're going to make me feel older than I already am." She said with a blush spread across her face. "Rarity darling, and ooh what fine fashion you show." Azure smiled. "Thank you miss Rarity, you're the element of generosity correct?" "Indeed I am mister Azure. Is there something I may help you with?" She asked cocking her head. "Indeed. I am looking for Twilight Sparkle, would you have any idea where she may be?" "Oh yes Twilight, I haven't seen her in a very long while. May I accompany you to see her?" "I wouldn't be against it, no." "Oh splendid, but I must drop of my things." "Take your time, I'll see you there." With that Rarity trotted off to her home and left Azure by the fountain. Roughly fifteen minutes later Rarity came back. "Are we good to go?" She asked. "Yes." Azure replied. The two walked through the busy streets. Azure pushed ponies out of the way to make a path they could walk through. "So may I ask why is it that your searching for Twilight?" Rarity shouted over the crowd. "Long story I'll explain when we get there." They continued through the streets till they came out onto a grass area. They continued the walk until they were in front of a big tree. The tree itself seemed old and could basically crumble to the ground. Three ponies made their way to the tree, two of which Azure knew as Templars, while the other wore a black business suit. Azure put his hoof across Rarity's chest. She looked down and then to Azure. "Something the matter Azure?" "Yes, please stay here." Azure left Rarity alone and trotted to the two Templars guarding the door to the tree. Azure made his way into a bush and preyed on the two Templar guards. The Templars had no idea Azure was next to them. Azure pulled out his throwing knife and took aim at the Templar's eye. He threw it and the Templar fell to the ground while his partner was now turning towards Azure. Azure pulled out his new tomahawk and charged the Templar, jumping out of the bush. He knocked the Templar off balance and pinned him to the ground. Azure raised the tomahawk and swung it down un-mercifully. Once the deed was done, he pulled the tomahawk out of the Templar's skull, but it broke off and clattered on the ground. "I knew this thing wouldn't take any punishment." Azure said throwing the rest of the broken tomahawk into the bush. Azure made his way to the door and opened it ever so slightly. He was in and could now tell that the tree was a library. He heard talking in the next room over to the right. Azure leaned against the wall and eavesdropped on the conversation. "Please miss Sparkle, listen to reason. We only want to help you find the other two elements." "I'm sorry mister Silent Shade, but I've been told not to share any information that I may or may not have." The Templar Silent Shade stood up pushing the seat he was on away from him. "Miss Sparkle, you must help us. Equestria depends on it." "Well once more I will say it. I'm not giving you any informa... *GASP." Twilight said stunned jumping out of her chair "What!?" Silent Shade asked. Azure drove his hidden blade into the back of Silent Shade's neck. He fell on the ground with a sickening thud. "Oh sweet Celestia." Twilight said trying to keep herself from puking. "Relax miss Sparkle." Azure said taking Silent Shade's seat. "What do you want with me?" She asked hesitantly. "The same thing he was after." "Well then if that's the case your not going to get any information." She said still looking at the dead body laying on the floor. "Princess Luna said that you would be able to provide me with whatever information you may have." Twilight sighed. "If princess Luna sent you then, I guess I may be able to lend some." She said sheepishly shrugging. "Thank you miss Sparkle, and believe me when I say this you are helping with a far better cause then what this byzantine scum would have done." Twilight gave Azure the information he needed. "Thank you miss Sparkle your help is most appreciated." "Azure?" Azure turned around to look at Twilight. "Yes miss Sparkle?" "May I come with you? I mean if you would be up for that." Azure smiled. "That would be fine." Twilight got up from her seat and followed Azure outside. It was almost afternoon and the sun enveloped their bodies. "So first stop, Rainbow dash." said Twilight with determination written on her old face. > Sequence: One. Chapter: Four > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The green and lavish forest buzzed with all sorts of activity. Birds chirped, and bugs buzzed. Azure looked over to the older mare. The silver streaks in her mane glistened in the hot after noon sun. "Now are you sure that we will be able to find Rainbow Dash up here?" Azure took one last look before turning his attention back to Twilight. "Its the only place she could have gone. Its pretty secluded out here and she likes this area." Twilight said. Azure sighed and walked along the path that carved through the forest, towards rainbow falls. Azure trekked the path with ease. But Twilight didn't fare any easier. "Do you need to take a break Ms. Sparkle?" Twilight panted. "That.. would... be.. most beneficial." Azure trotted back down to Twilight and helped her sit down on a flat rock under a shady branch. "Phew." Twilight let out. Azure checked his equipment and then looked at the older mare sitting next to him. "Should I continue on and bring her back here?" Twilight looked around at her surroundings and nodded her head. Azure stood up and left the shaded area, letting the sun bake him inside his black robes. Azure reached a clearing and scouted the area. He came up dry and admired the rainbow water fall before him. He briskly walked towards the edge of the adjacent cliff next to the falls. He looked over and saw the hard earth below. He back away but then stopped. Something caught his eye. Using his unique senses he felt the earth and saw a small building on the side of the cliff. Azure hopped down and extended his hook blade. He swung across each rock with ease. There was an edge that had enough space for him to jump onto. Azure leapt off the rock he was currently on, but missed the ledge as a whole. Thankfully his hook blade caught a lingering rock just in time. Azure struggled to pull himself up. The rock started to come out of place. With all his might Azure pulled himself up. He missed the edge by mere inches. He looked down at the ground below, then looked at the slipping rock. Azure started to swing and he caught the edge with his hoof. Pulling himself up he regained composure and dusted himself off. A wooden door stood before Azure. It seemed old and fragile. Azure touched it and it fell off its hinges. He walked in. Almost immediately taken aback by the dampness of the room. "It smells like death in here." Azure complained to himself. Azure couldn't see a thing. He reached into a pouch and pulled out a lighter. It didn't do much but illuminate his hoof and face. He scoured around and he finally found a torch. He took it and rested the tip of it over his lighter. The room seemed to become much more brighter as the torch took the flame. Then he saw the reason why it smelt like death. A corpse of a pony layed down on the floor, curled up into a ball. Then he saw a golden necklace that hung around the pony's neck. Azure approached the body at a slow pace. He picked up the necklace and inspected it. A red lightning bolt dusty amongst the gold frame. He placed it inside his pouch. He leaned down and touched Dash's head. "May you find eternal peace." He stated and turned to leave the hide out. Once out side Azure investigated the rocks. He started climbing and eventually made it to the grassy plain that swayed slightly in the breeze. What he found that awaited him at the top displeased him. "There he is the one who killed those stallions!" shouted Rarity. Twilight stood beside her and frowned. Ten guards stood there, muskets aimed at their target. Azure didn't move. "By order of princess Celestia you are under arrest for murder and disturbance of the peace." bellowed a guard. A loud crack was heard from somewhere inside the forest. A guard dropped dead on the ground with a long nail stuck out of his head, while the others got scared and ran in random directions, Azure made his move. Most of the guards charged after him. But they were met with an unfortunate bloody end that resulted in their deaths. More cracks came from inside the woods as they picked off the remaining guards that scurried around the field like mice. Azure scanned the edges of the forest looking for whomever helped him. Not a moment to soon a pony wearing a brown hood came out with a musket in tow. She stood before Azure and bowed. The pony straitened herself and removed her brown beaked hood, revealing a light pink unicorn with a blonde mane. "Mentor, its an honor." Azure looked at the pony with interest. "Thank you for your assistance, may I ask for your name?" "Blaze." Azure smirked "You have quite the skill with that musket." "Thank you mentor." She blushed slightly. "Can some pony tell me what the hay is going on here?!" Twilight asked in a raged tone. "I'm sorry miss Sparkle but you will know in all due time." Twilight huffed and turned away. "Mentor." Blaze said regaining Azure's attention. "I have reason to believe Equestria's government has been hiding something." "How have you come by this information?" Azure questioned. Blaze looked at the two elderly unicorns and whispered into Azure's ears. His face drooped and his leg muscle's tensed. "This is going to be far more complicated than I thought of it originally." Azure said, looking towards Canterlot mountain. > Sequence: Two. Chapter: One > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Desmond fluttered his eyes as he came out of the animus. He moved his hand to his forehead and rubbed it,; trying to make the headache he had vanish. He swung his feet to his left and planted them on the ground. They didn't stay there long as he saw his surroundings, but they were different. He blinked and placed his feet back onto the cold and wet stone floors of the cavern. He saw everything. The un-even steps, the large cracks, and the flat and smooth surfaces that surrounded him. He looked around and found another hidden power source. He stood up and walked over to the power node, taking his time. He knelt down to a knee and inspected the small square stone slap before him. He placed his hands on it and felt around. "There!" Desmond exclaimed silently to himself. He placed his fingers in between the crack that labeled the secret compartment. Lifting the stone slab, a blue light peeked out and grew as Desmond moved the slab back. He reached down and plucked out the miss-matched cube device and manipulated it. Satisfied he grabbed hold of it with both hands and walked out into the middle of the cavern, looking around for another power console. There was one, but it was up high. Desmond nodded and his face was stricken with determination. He grabbed his one strapped back pack and placed the power source inside, before slinging it over his shoulder. He walked back over to the stone wall and looked up to the ledge that held the console. He leapt and clung to the wall. With a few grunts of effort, Desmond started to make his way up the stone surface. After a minute of climbing. Desmond lifted himself up onto the ledge. He was struck by a flash of yellow light. Desmond shook his head and felt a cold touch on his left shoulder. He followed the entity that he had never seen before. "Desmond Miles, I have been watching you for some time now." said the hallucination. It sounded male. "Ask any question you may have but you only get one." The entity shook his finger at Desmond. "How did I get these strange powers?" Desmond asked hoping that the entity would understand his question. "The powers your experiencing come from the marvelous assassin Azure correct?" "It would seem that way." Desmond seemed bemused. "Since you already know the answer to that question, I shall grant you another." "Okay since Azure is a pony, how in the hell am I related to him?" The entity smiled. "Its because your not Desmond. In matter of fact he is just as alien as me to you. So what you see from inside you're machine is actually happening right now." "How is that-" "No more questions, good by Desmond." and with that the entity disappeared and left Desmond on the floor of the stone tower. He stood up, using his arms to aid him. He placed the power source inside of the console. Another platform slid from behind the translucent wall. Desmond smiled and he began his descent back to the animus. Rebecca sat at the desk that was behind the animus. She looked up at Desmond who strode over and sat back down on the chair that was the animus. "Desmond we should really get back to Connor." She pleaded. "I cant." Desmond stated flatly. "Why not?" Rebecca asked. "Those beings keep talking to me, and one of them said that I must continue watching Azure, He said that Azure might just help us." "Cant argue with that now can I. Alright lean back and relax." Desmond's vision faded and was replaced by Azure's. Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve. Benjamin Franklin, Autobiography, 1771 "what's the rush for Azure?" Twilight asked, tailing Azure and Blaze down the Ponyville commons. "If it is true what Blaze has said, the princess may be in grave danger." Twilight caught up to the two assassins who were purchasing train tickets. "So it would be most wise for you to go home." "But-" "No buts Twilight, its for your own safety." Twilight shook her head and turned away from the train platform. Azure and Blaze took a seat on a nearby bench waiting for a train to pull up. They sat in silence knowing that each passing second put the princess further and further in danger. "So what is it that we're going to do?" "Do what?" "Well when we get there, how are we going to do this. Go in guns blazing?" The train pulled up and screeched to a halt. Azure leapt from his seat on the bench and forgot Blaze's question. Azure made his way to the train car and as about to board when Blaze called his name. Azure turned seeing Blaze holding a small pistol. "Sorry Azure. You seem like a sweet pony but no matter you're just a simple obstruction that blocks the way for greatness. "So you're a Templar? Well played pretending to be an assassin to take me out, should have seen it coming." Azure said sarcastically. "Please tell me how you got wrapped into this?" "I was asked to join, so I did." "Did they tell you about my creed?" "Yes, and I think its stupid." "Do you know what the Templars plan to do?" "No not-" "Or what they are going to do once they've done it?" "No." Blaze shed a tear. "And do you know what happens when a pony like your self gets caught up in this?" She looked at Azure, who was surprisingly close to her own being. She heard steel slide across steel and felt a small, almost non-existent pain. She looked down to see Azure's hidden blade in her chest and blood freely flowing onto it. She felt her body move across the platform and back onto the bench. She looked up at Azure's face that was blacked out by the sun in the back ground. "I'm sorry this had to happen to you." Azure's hoof closed Blaze's eyes. Retracting the hidden blade, Azure boarded the train that was to take him to Canterlot. He nestled himself in his seat and closed his eyes. Within an hour Azure was standing back in Canterlot and making his way up to the castle. He passed through the main gate with out any royal guards there to check him. He continued down the cobble stone path and eventually found himself at the front door. odd he thought as he pushed the door open. The castle itself seemed to be still the same, but unusually quiet which in turn brought fourth an echo from the throne room. Azure put his ear against the door and listened in on the conversation. "Please princess if you plan on finding the missing element let us help you." said a unknown pony. "I'm not sure Blacinto, many of the companies looking for the elements are evil. How can I trust you for the better?" Celestia said, her voice easy to be made out. "If we were truly evil your majesty, I wouldn't of had this meeting with the most powerful being in Equestria, would I?" He attempted to flatter her but made Celestia frown just a tad bit more. "And what is it that you want in exchange for your services?" "Simply to fund my research at Abstergo and you will have both your elements back. We cant live in the world without harmony." At that Azure barged his way in knocking down the doors and taking every one in the room by surprise except for Blacinto. "Princess do not make that deal, it is one that most certainly do not want to get caught up in." Two Templar guards came to suppress Azure, but they met a gruesome end. "Princess do not take advice from a cold hearted killer, if any thing he wishes to impede your search for the two elements." Azure shouted "All he wishes for is for the world to be destroyed so he may rule on top of it with an iron hoof." "And what proof do you have-assassin?" Azure pulled out Rainbow Dash's element necklace and threw it over the heads of the Templars that stood in front of him, to Celestia's hooves. "So it proves that you killed the element of loyalty," Celestia said pointing at Azure's blood crusted hidden blade. "Blacinto you have yourself a deal." He bowed and turned to face Azure. He walked out of the throne room leaving all the guards behind. A pony carrying a gold necklace that bore the symbol of the Templars was given to the princess. She accepted it and placed it over her golden regalia. She stared at Azure and Azure stared right back. "So what now?" Celestia asked still staring strait at Azure. The Templar guards took their position's in front of the princess to make a physical barrier between him and Celestia. "Now princess, As much as I hate to say this you're time has come." "What do you mean?" "I warned you that you shouldn't have accepted." Azure stood on his hind legs and drawled his sword and un-holstered the pistol. The Templars rushed him. Azure plowed his sword down the throught of a Templar and let him fall back with it protruding from his mouth. Next one to go was with his pistol. Azure dropped it and used his hidden blades that glided out. One by one the Templars fell dead to the ground in an array of different forms of take downs. Celestia stepped down from her throne once the bloodshed was over and faced Azure. "If you really wish that my life may end so be it, but my subjects come first. Now I do not know why it is that I must die for being affiliated with Abstergo, but it must be important enough for me to know why?" "Sorry princess my creed does not allow for one to be spared for being a Templar or an affiliate." She nodded in understanding and kneeled before Azure and was on all fore's. Azure placed his hoof right below Celestia's chest piece. She looked up at him knowing that he was the one to decide her fate. Azure leaned in and whispered into her ear. "I'm sorry." The hidden blade entered slowly and punctured her chest. Celestia gasped for air when the blade punctured her lung. Celestia's head fell to the floor. Her body slightly twitching as blood spilled out onto the floor. Her breaths grew heavy and slower and slower, till the last bit of air escaped her mouth. Luna entered the room with two lunar guards flanking her. She just watched the pony in robes take away Celestia's life. Azure closed Celestia's eyes and plucked the Templar necklace of her neck. He threw it off to the side amongst the dead bodies. Celestia's mane and tail stopped flowing in the non-existent wind. Azure removed his hood and faced Luna and the two guards. "Princess I'm sorry." Luna walked strait and true to Azure. "How could you do such a thing?" she asked, tears flowing down her midnight blue coated cheeks. "I trusted you."
