Chapter 1: Introduction

View Online

I am Princess Luna. One of the two princesses that rule Equestria together in harmony. I control the shimmering night. Sparkling stars and the moon all together make a beautiful evening sky glow. Although, when I was a young pony, not a filly, I became jealous of my sister and her day. For her gorgeous sunny days were always consumed by ponies playing and they slept through my hard made night. My jealousy took over and turned me into an evil alicorn named Nightmare Moon. I still regret for what I've done. But, my sister used the Elements of Harmony against me and banished me to my moon. Living on the moon was always lonely. I missed my beloved parents, for they were gone. And so was I. While in solitude, I realized that the only way to break free was if the stars led me to my escape. They were so kind enough to do so and on the 1,000 annual Summer Sun Celebration in honor of my sister, I arrived in Ponyville where it was taking place that year and attacked. In the end, I never did destroy or take over Equestria. Six ponies, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack stopped me by using the Six elements of Harmony like Celestia did to me. I turned back to my normal self and united once again with my loving sister. We now rule together like old times and we both still wonder about our mother and father. How they died, if they died, or if they are still with us. I'm going to find out for myself who I am and who my parents were.

Chapter 2: Running Away

One day, when I was a filly, I went to my older sister, Celestia and asked her about our parents. She didn't respond at first. All she did was shake her head. Then she said,

"I'm afraid, sister, mother and father are...dead."

I just stood in the middle of our castle, in silence. Celestia always told me mother and father would always come back to us someday. It's like I've been living a lie my entire life! I was so filled with anger that I fled the room. And my sister never saw me again. For I had ran away from home. I couldn't live in a society where lies were blooming all around me. Who would I trust? There was no one else that I knew other than my sister and my parents. Celestia informed to me every single day that I could not leave the Canterlot Castle without her permission. It was either,

go with me or don't go at all.

Sometimes, I hated listening to my sisters' orders every single day! It was like taking orders from a bossy dictator! Celestia is only five years older than me and yet, she treats her duties like her life depends on it! You have to do this Luna. Oh no! You're doing this wrong Luna! Listen to your big sister Luna! How I hated it! Which is exactly why I ran away. Far away from Canterlot. Never looking back. Although, it was a little discomforting when everypony was being mean to me just because I was filly. They wouldn't even want to notice that I was Princess! Purebred royalty! I blame myself for not going out much.

Chapter 3: Meeting You

My hooves were aching and they had lost their beautiful, glitzy sparkle. My small crown atop of my head was lopsided and I only had a small amount of luggage in a bag on my back. I sat down and sighed. Is this what I really wanted? To be alone in the Everfree Forest with no food, no water and no company whatsoever? Truthfully, I wanted my sister. She was the only kind of family I actually had. And I took that for granted.

"CELESTIA!!!" I cried into the air.

I have never felt so solemn and selfish in my entire life. The thing was that I knew no one was coming for me. No one could hear me. Only I could hear myself. Tears were falling from my eyes and I didn't even know it.

"Who is out there disturbing my concentration?" Somepony said in the distance.

I couldn't see anything since the forest was so full of pine trees.

"I can sense you are going through some complication."
"Who's there?!" I exclaimed. My high pitched voice squeaked.

I stood my ground and I was determined to defend myself from anyone who wanted to hurt me.

A white and gray striped zebra walked toward me and my small body was shaking.

I-I'm not a-afraid. I am a Princess.

"Do not be scared, little one. You may trust in me, for you will be done."

I couldn't understand she was saying. I just could not trust her. Just as I was about to scream because there was a creepy zebra trying to kidnap me, I felt little droplets of rain coming from the sky. I decided to follow Ms. Zebra Stripes.

The female zebra with an unfamiliar accent closed the door to her hut with her back legs as we entered.

"I am so sorry if I had frightened you. I was just looking at something for my brew. As I saw you there in front of me, I could not let be alone and free."

Ms. Zebra Stripes poured some kind of potion into a giant iron kettle.

"Excuse me miss-" I started but I was cut off by the zebra.
"Zecora."
"Alright then, Miss Zecora. May I ask why you wanted to help me?"

Zecora kept grabbing and looking for potions in the wooden shelves that were all around us. It's like she wasn't listening to me!

"Princess, I know of your name. But, your patience must be tamed." Zecora chants.

"How did you know I was the princess?!?" It was until I saw the expression on Zecora's face that I realized I was yelling.

I gave Zecora a sad look. I'm sorry. I was trying to say but the words could not come out.

"Of course I know who you are. Your reputation is like a star. It is so quiet and kind. But still you have an absent mind."

Her rhymes were starting to get a little confusing.

"Zecora, I just want to go back home. In Canterlot!"

Zecora stares at the scenery out the window.

"I am afraid not, the rain is booming and you must not get caught."

I still could not comprehend but I knew one thing. I had to stay here for the night.

Chapter 4: My Nightmare

Darkness. Eerie darkness was all I could see. There was no one else around me but I felt like I was being watched.

MWAHAHAHA!

I heard a faint crazy chortling coming from above my head.

"Who's there?" I cried out loud as my voice cracked.

I couldn't see anything since it was so black. Nothing was there. Even I couldn't see myself at all.

Your worst nightmare.

Finally I could feel wind surrounding me which probably made my mane swish-swash. I was scared to death because I was the only one in that scene. Other than the mysterious monster that I heard.

I felt the monster's claw grab onto me and he tugged so hard it made my skin fall off.

I screamed. No pain was worse than getting hurt and not defending yourself.

"Luna! Luna!" I heard Zecora call me.

I woke up in alarm. Being afraid that the monster was out to get me from out of the dream. Correction, nightmare.

"Zecora! You're here!"

I checked my coat in case there was a patch of skin that was torn off. All clear!

"And I'm not dead!" I exclaimed as I bounced off of the sofa I was laying on like it was a trampoline.

Zecora stared at me with a confused look in her eyes.

I hugged Zecora. She seemed to hug me back but I couldn't tell.

"Luna, I heard you scream. I was hoping you were having a bad dream."

It's true. Whenever I had a bad dream, I would yell or shriek. That way, Celestia would know that I'm not feeling well and she would sing me a lullaby.

Celestia. How I longed to see my sister once again. We has gotten into a fight right before I ran away from Canterlot Castle. I regret everything I said.

You're a horrible sister!

I hate you!

You're a liar!

You're not my sister! You're a witch!

I didn't have the best comebacks when I was a filly.

At the thought of my beloved sister, I suddenly burst into tears. Unless I figured out a way to get out of the Everfree Forest, I'd never see my sister again.

"There, there Luna."

Zecora patted my back. It was very comforting that Zecora actually cared about me.

"Zecora, I want to go home!" I cried as I faced the zebra.

"Please, please, please tell me you can help me get home!" I could hardly hear myself because of all of the crying.

There was an I'm sorry look in Zecora's eyes. I knew I wouldn't be able to get back home.

Zecora backed away from me and she went through some of her things and carried a basket on her back.

"Where are you going?" I asked curiously. My tears have finally dried up.

"I am going into the forest to look for a plant called: Heart's Desire. I need it for a brew I am making."

What happened to her rhymes? She probably got over them or realized they were pretty confusing. And meaningless.

"Can I go with you?!" I shouted.

Zecora took a look at me and smiled.

"Of course you can."

I jumped for joy. Zecora was a very nice pony or zebra and I could use her help

Zecora and I were deep in the Everfree Forest. All I could see was black. Just. Like. My. Nightmare.

"Zecora? Zecora! Where are you?!"

"I'm right here. Next to you."

I felt little bit of stupidity in my mind.

"Whoops." I muttered.

I felt Zecora leave my side and I started to get a little paranoid.

What if she never comes back? I'll be a meal to the timber wolves for sure!

I spun around in circles. Since I couldn't see anything, everything was just like a blur to me.

MWAHAHA!

Him again. He was back. I couldn't see him, but he was there.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?!"

Silly little princess. I want you and your sister, DEAD.

I hyperventilated. Dead? He wanted me dead.
