A Feeling

-A feeling

Everything was quiet. Fluttershy was sitting in her cottage, humming a tune. Angel was asleep, and the moon shined in through the windows. It was late, but Fluttershy could not find herself to be tired. Her heart was pounding. She had this feeling.
'Anxiousness?' She thought it could be that, but she was still unsure of why she had this feeling. She started to think of why she may be feeling this.

'I woke up. And i took angel out for a stroll. We had lunch near the forest, and ran into Rainbow Dash on our way home. She was in a hurry. I'm not quite sure why though. I didn't ask.'

Fluttershy searched her thoughts trying to make since of it all. She still was completely confused by everything. She stood up and walked to the window. She looked up towards the dark clouds. 'I wonder what Rainbow is doing. Probably sleeping, I'm sure!' Fluttershy giggled at the thought of Rainbow Dash laying across a cloud, snoring. Fluttershy went back to her couch and tried to sleep once more.

Rainbow Dash was doing anything but sleeping. She tried all night to doze off, but to no avail. Rainbow Dash never had trouble sleeping before, but for some reason tonight was different. Laying on her cloud, she looked up at the stars.

"This is freaking stupid!" She said, while turning over on her stomach.

"I'm going to be so tired tomorrow if I don't sleep! Why can't I sleep?" Rainbow buried her face into the fluffy whiteness. Her mane flowed in the soft breeze, and she stood up.

"If i can't sleep, I might as well practice some flying." Rainbow opened her wings and took off. She flew through the air at a very quick speed. The night air felt nice against her wings, Rainbow thought. She dived low and soared closely to the ground. She stopped her wings and landed nicely in a meadow. Rainbow looked around, familiarizing herself with the surroundings. She knew exactly where she was, and she meant to come to this place. She saw Fluttershy laying on her couch through the window. The light was still on in her cottage. Rainbow noticed that Fluttershy was still awake. 'That's not like her to stay up late like this', Rainbow thought. Strange. Rainbow then realized that if Fluttershy saw her standing outside she might be frightened and unaware of who she was. She then backed up slowly and took off to the sky.

"Back to my cloud, I guess."

The next morning, Rainbow was, as she thought, tired. She never went to sleep last night, and the effects of sleeplessness was showing clearly on her face. She drug herself into town and stopped by the library to see Twilight. She knocked her hoof on the door and Spike answered.

"Hey there Rain.....What happened?" Spike looked worried as he saw Rainbow's eyes were heavy and she could barley stand up straight.

"Oh? Uh, nothing. I just couldn't sleep any last night. I came to see Twilight, maybe she had an answer, or spell to help me sleep." Rainbow made her way in the door, leaving Spike still standing in the entrance.

"Who is it, Spike?" Rainbow heard Twilight call from upstairs. She was making her way down the stairs and saw Rainbow.

"Oh, hello Rainbow Dash! Can i help you with something? Or did you want to borrow another Daring Do book..."

"No. No, I didn't come for a book. I'm still working on one. I was just wondering if you had any idea why i can't sleep."
Twilight looked taken back when she realized the look on Rainbow's face.

"Oh my! You do look tired don't you?" Rainbow nodded. Twilight then started off to her books.

"No, no. Um, not here. Here either. Um. Oh! Here it is! Sleeping spells." Rainbow looked up with a satisfied smile.

"I knew i could count on you Twi." Twilight had a look of triumph on her face.

"Now lets see. Are you having bad dreams? Is the atmosphere too cold, too hot? Are you trying to sleep, but just don't feel tired? Is it--"

"I'm trying to sleep, Twilight. I'm tired. I just can't fall asleep for the life of me!" Rainbow was exhausted. Her eyes heavier and heavier. She even tired to fall asleep where she stood. Nothing.

"Oh my. That's not good, now is it? Do you feel alright? Other than being tired, are you anxious in anyway?" Twilight looked concerned but Rainbow could barley look at her.

"I... I do feel kind of anxious lately." Rainbow looked away quickly. Her cheeks were turning red. A sight that Twilight had never seen before.

"Um, do you know why you are feeling anxious?" Twilight tired to be subtle. She realized that Rainbow Dash, in all of her glory, was embarrassed.

"If I knew, then i wouldn't be here asking you for help, now would I?" Rainbow tried to regain herself, but Twilight was not buying it.

"Are you sure about that, Rainbow? Your red cheeks are telling me otherwise." Twilight tried to break Rainbow's pride so she would tell her what was wrong. Rainbow noticed what Twilight was doing.

"Just forget it!" Rainbow stomped out of Twilight's tree home. Twilight tried to call out to Rainbow, but she was already in the air speeding away. She never heard what Twilight said.

-Realization

Rainbow Dash was flustered. Her face was hot. Her cheeks were red. She was completely embarrassed!
"Why did I go to Twilight? I should have known she would have suspected something. All I wanted was to sleep." Rainbow had flew to the outskirts of Ponyville. She was resting under a tree. Hoofing at the dirt she started to think.

'Why did i get embarrassed when Twilight asked me why i was anxious? Wait. Why am I anxious?!' Rainbow looked up to the sky. She only started to feel this way yesterday. When she saw Fluttershy and Angel. Fluttershy was walking home with Angel from a picnic, Rainbow assumed. But Rainbow didn't really stop to talk to Fluttershy. She looked her in the eyes and started to feel funny. She told her she needed to go, before Fluttershy could even greet her.

"I left her hanging. Why? I could have hurt her feelings. I'm terrible." Rainbow started to feel guilty about leaving Fluttershy so quickly. She wasn't even sure why she did it. She just did.

"Ever since then i had this stupid feeling in my chest. It's such a drag." Rainbow huffed. Suddenly she heard a voice. She jumped up and tried to follow the familiar sound. Rainbow crouched down low, and slightly leaned her head over the bushes that was separating her from the voice she so longed to hear. There she was. Humming and picking flowers. Fluttershy, with her perfectly parted mane, and glowing yellow coat was flying around, searching for the most beautiful flowers.

'She has such a keen eye for beautiful things', Rainbow Dash thought to herself. Rainbow continued to watch Fluttershy move gracefully in the air. Rainbow wanted to move closer to her. She wanted to speak to her. She wanted to hold her. Rainbow started to feel that feeling in her chest again. She gulped and her face was getting hot. Her cheeks turned bright red, and Rainbow looked down.

'I can't help but feel this way. Why can't I stop myself?' Rainbow searched for her strength; she looked up once again. Fluttershy had stopped picking flowers. And Fluttershy was no longer there. Rainbow panicked.

'Oh God, where did she go? Did she notice i was watching her, and got creeped out? Oh no!' Rainbow looked around swiftly. She started backing away from the bushes. Once more, Rainbow heard Fluttershy's voice.

'Was she humming? No! She was talking to someone! Who? Herself?' Rainbow once again followed her voice. Fluttershy was now in another location.

'She had not seen me! Thank God!' Rainbow Dash quietly tried to listen to the words Fluttershy was saying.

"I just don't know what to do. She doesn't seem like the type to like flowers." Fluttershy looked frustrated.

'Who is "she"? Who doesn't seem like the type to like flowers?' Rainbow's heart was racing.

'Is she.....talking about me?' She wondered.

"I'm just so confused. She probably wouldn't like these. Besides, I'm not even sure if she's mad at me or not. Maybe she was just really busy yesterday." Fluttershy sunk down into a sitting position. She dropped her flowers.

'Oh no! Fluttershy I'm not mad at you! I was just....scared to talk to you. You're just so......so pretty.' Rainbow Dash was now upset that she made Fluttershy feel this way.

'All I have to do is go tell her everything is alright between us.' Rainbow started to step up, but then stopped.

'Well, if I do that now, Fluttershy will know I was watching her. That wouldn't be good. I can always tell her later. I can apologize for rushing off, and make an excuse to why I did.' Rainbow felt good about her decision, and quietly flew away.

Fluttershy had made it home to her cottage later that day. She was trying to get Angel to eat.

"Come on Angel bunny! Doesn't this look oh so yummy? Open up for me, will you? Just one measly bite at least. Please?" Fluttershy, holding up a salad for Angel, begging him to eat some. Angel was not amused by this. He kicked over the bowl of salad, and hopped away.

"Oh Angel bunny. You are so stubborn sometimes." Fluttershy smiled, and started to pick up the mess Angel made. Just as she picked up the last piece of lettuce she heard a knock on her door.

"Oh my, who could that be i wonder?" Fluttershy walked over to the door and opened it. Rainbow Dash was hovering in front of her, rubbing the back of her head with her hoof.

"Aheh, sorry for dropping by unexpectedly." Rainbow tried to put on a grin. Fluttershy looked surprised that she was here.

'Oh no, I hope i didn't disturb her.' Rainbow thought to herself.

"Oh! Oh no! It's perfectly fine. I love when a good friend drops by every now and then." Fluttershy sweetly smiled at Rainbow.

"Why don't you come in!" Rainbow Dash started to get that feeling in her chest again.

'Oh no. Not now!' Rainbow trotted into Fluttershy's cozy home.

"Would you like something to drink or eat, Rainbow Dash?" Fluttershy asked.

"Um, no. I'm alright. I'm not hungry right now." Rainbow sat down on Fluttershy's couch. Fluttershy scurried to put the messy salad bowl up. Then she sat down next to Rainbow Dash.

"So, did you need something, Rainbow?" Fluttershy looked at her with such caring eyes. Rainbow tried to look directly back into Fluttershy's eyes, but just couldn't. Rainbow looked down at the ground.

"Oh, nothing in particular. I just....I wanted to apologize for the other day. That's all." Fluttershy looked at Rainbows eyes.

"The other day? Oh you mean yesterday? That's quite alright. I'm sure you were very busy." Fluttershy reassured Rainbow Dash. Rainbow looked up at Fluttershy. Her heart was pounding.

'Why? What's wrong with you Dash? Pull yourself together!'

"I.....I wasn't really busy. I just......I......" Rainbow couldn't spit out the truth. Fluttershy looked at her friend and placed her hoof on Rainbows shoulder.

"It's okay, Rainbow Dash. Whatever it is, I understand." She smiled at Rainbow, and placed her hoof back in her lap. Rainbow couldn't take the heat anymore. She had to say it. She had to tell Fluttershy the true reason she left so quickly.

"Fluttershy! The reason i sped off is because.....because I.......I really truly.......I like you! A lot!" Rainbow, feeling uncomfortable stood up. She walked in front of Fluttershy and faced her.

"I really like you, Fluttershy. More than a friend." Fluttershy looked at Rainbow Dash in shock. Rainbow gulped; heart pounding.

"I.....I never knew." Fluttershy said quietly. Rainbow looked her in the eyes. Fluttershy's eyes were sparkling. With tears!

"I'm sorry Rainbow.......I just can't......I can't return the feelings." Fluttershy sniffled, and wiped her eyes. Rainbows heart sunk.

'I can't believe I just did that.' Rainbow tried to think of something to say.

"It's okay, Fluttershy! It's not that big of a deal. I guess I will be going now. I have some clouds to clean up. I will catch you later." Fluttershy heard the sadness in her voice. Rainbow turned towards the door, and made her way out. Fluttershy watched as Rainbow walked away. She couldn't find any words to say back to her.
As soon as the door shut, Angel walked in. Fluttershy looked down at her bunny.

"Oh Angel, what ever should I do?" Angel had a look of anger on his face. He stomped his foot on the ground repeatedly. Fluttershy realized what Angel was trying to say.

"I know, Angel. But I just couldn't." Fluttershy looked out her window. No sight of Rainbow Dash.

'Oh, Rainbow. I'm so sorry. Why did I lie?'

-Nothing else to do, but cry

Rarity was cleaning up her boutique. Picking up some mess that Sweetie Belle obviously made with her friends.

"I don't know what to do with that filly. I wish Fluttershy could babysit her more often."
Rarity, with her tidy self, made sure every little nook and cranny was in order before she left. She had promised to stop by Sweet Apple Acres and help Applejack with something. As she was starting out the door she stopped once more to check her mane.

"So lovely, Rarity. You sure know how to make a pony look classy!"
Rarity amused herself with her own flattery. She put on a beautiful smile and left her home.

Applejack was pacing around the barn.

"Now where on earth is that pony?" Applejack stopped her pacing, and looked up past the apple orchard.
Rarity was making her way over to Applejack. Smiling widely, and prancing gracefully.

"Hello, my dear Applejack! I hope I didn't keep you waiting too awful long."
Rarity batted her eyes in a teasing way, looking down at the small rut Applejack was unknowingly creating. Applejack looked down, and started to pile dirt back into the small indent.

"Oh, ah wasn't waitin' too long. Ah just was--"

"Oh never mind that, Applejack. What was it you needed me to do?" Rarity smiled at Applejack.
Applejack, lost in Rarity's eyes, started to think.

'Now, why did ah invite her? Um. Oh darn.'

"Applejack? Are you okay?" Rarity looked concerned for her friend.
Applejack then realized what she needed.

"Oh, yeah Ah'm alright! Ahaha! I just needed your help with something. Something urgent!"
Rarity waited for Applejack to finish.

"Ah went to go see Rainbow Dash earlier today..." Applejack stopped.

"And?" Rarity tried to get Applejack to spit out what she was trying to say.

"And she didn't look too good. Ah found her under a tree. She was......Rainbow Dash was crying!"
Rarity widened her eyes.

'Crying? Rainbow Dash was crying?', Rarity thought.

"Ah didn't disturb her. Ah didn't want to startle her. Ah'm sure she didn't want anypony to see her like that anyways. Ah'm just so concerned for her. Ah thought maybe you could.....talk to her, maybe?"
Rarity's face was gleaming. She wasn't sure why Applejack thought she was the pony for the job, but she accepted the request and set out on her way to find Rainbow Dash.

The birds were not singing, the clouds were darker then usual, and Celestia's sun seemed to shine on everything but Rainbow Dash. She was laying down in the same place she had been laying ever since yesterday. Her eyes were puffy and swollen. Her blue coat seemed to have less of a glow. Rainbow Dash looked awful. She could barley open her eyes. She couldn't find herself to speak. She could hardly even think.

'Why am i so upset about this? It's not like.....she would ever like me anyways. I should have known that. So why am I acting this way?'
Rainbow Dash rubbed her eyes with her hoof, and tried her hardest to stand. Her legs were wobbly, and it was hard for her to get up. She tried to regain her balance as she started to walk away.

'All I have to do is act like nothing's wrong. Nopony will even know what happened yesterday.' Rainbow tried to comfort herself.

'Unless.....Fluttershy tells somepony!' Rainbow started to feel nauseous again, and she found herself tearing up.

"God, Rainbow. You're such an idiot. Fluttershy will probably never speak to you again!"
Rainbow winced at the thought of losing Fluttershy as her friend.

"Fluttershy has been so close to me for so long. Maybe....Is that why I'm feeling this way towards her?"
Rainbow's heart was beating at a fast rate. She started to get chills down her spine and through her wings. Love.

"Do I love Fluttershy?" Rainbow's head was spinning. Her thoughts were killing her. She didn't know what to do.

Rarity listened in shock. From a distance she heard Rainbow Dash talk to herself.

"In love? With Fluttershy?!"
Rarity was taken aback. She wasn't repulsed, but heartbroken for her friend.

'Fluttershy must have rejected Rainbow Dash. Oh how terrible. Out of all the worst things that could happen, this is the worst possible thing!'
Rarity wanted to comfort her friend, but knowing Rainbow Dash, it would probably only make matters worse. Rarity took her leave and headed into town.

Fluttershy tried her best to keep on a smile as she walked into Sugar Cube Corner. She was greeted by a very pink, very familiar face.

"Hiya there Fluttershy! Can I get you something? Anything? Want a cupcake? Want to go do something fun? Have anything fun planned that I can join in on? Huh? Huh? Huh?"
Pinkie Pie, bouncing off the walls as usual, bombarded Fluttershy with her hyper self.

"Oh Pinkie Pie, I just came in for a visit. You see, I'm not feeling myself today. I thought seeing a friendly face would cheer me up."
Fluttershy put her head down slightly. Pinkie Pie immediately jumped back.

"Oh no! Are you sick? Poor Fluttershy!"
Pinkie Pie hopped around searching for something. She returned with a slice of cake and shoved it in Fluttershy's hoofs.

"Here! Eat up! Cake always makes me feel better!"
Pinkie Pie smiled as big as she could. She waited for Fluttershy to take a bite, but Fluttershy set down the cake she was offered.

"I'm sorry Pinke, but my stomach doesn't feel up to eating right now. Thank you for everything though."
Pinkie's smile started to fade.

'That yummy delicious cake was turned down? Awe!'

"I hope you get better, Fluttershy! Really really soon! So we can go play, and have loads of fun together!"
Pinkie's face brightened up once again. Fluttershy thanked Pinkie again for cheering her up, and she walked out of the cafe.

"Hm. I do wonder what is wrong with Fluttershy."
Pinkie's concerned expression didn't last long as she turned towards the rejected cake.

"Now it's time for me to eat!"

Trudging out of the cafe, Fluttershy's smile faded. Pinkie was a great friend, but even her, as rambunctious as she is could not make Fluttershy's spirits lift. Fluttershy was completely heartbroken.

'I hurt my most dearest friend. I know i did. She said it wasn't a big deal. But I could tell in her voice that she was lying through her teeth.'
Fluttershy had never felt this low before. She had never felt the feeling of depression. But she was now certain that this must be what it feels like.
Her head low. Her hoofs heavy and dragging, she made her way to the center of the town. As she continued to walk, she suddenly came to a stop when she heard Rarity from behind calling for her.

"Fluttershy! Oh Fluttershy! I need to speak to you!"
Rarity was galloping her way over to where the frozen stiff Fluttershy was standing. Fluttershy lifted her head just enough to look Rarity in the eyes.

"Fluttershy can you come with me to my boutique? I need to ask you something very important."
Rarity noticed the draining look on Fluttershy's face. She was starting to worry for Fluttershy as well. Fluttershy agreed to go with Rarity, and they set off for the boutique.

At their arrival, Rarity opened the door to her shop. She walked in, and Fluttershy followed.

"Would you like something to drink, Fluttershy?" Rarity thought a cup of tea might put everypony at ease. But Fluttershy refused Rarity's offer, and Rarity started to feel the akwardness. She was afraid to ask Fluttershy about what happened between her and Rainbow Dash, but she knew, as a good friend she needed to do this.

"So, Fluttershy, the reason i brought you here is because, well I have a question. A very urgent question." Rarity waited for Fluttershy to respond. She noticed that she had Fluttershy's full attention, so she continued.

"Well I....Me and Applejack were wondering what was wrong with Rainbow Dash. Applejack said she saw Rainbow Dash....crying. So I set off to find her, and try to figure out what was going on. Well when I saw her, she was saying something to herself. She was saying something about---"

"It's okay, Rarity. You don't have to continue. I already know."
Fluttershy's uneasiness got the better of her. She didn't want to know what Rainbow Dash said. She was afraid to know.

"You see Fluttershy, I asked you to come here so you could tell me......what happened with you two?"
Rarity's gleaming eyes stared right into Fluttershy's.
Fluttershy looked down at the flooring. She didn't know what to tell Rarity.
She stayed silent.

"Fluttershy, you need to tell me. I can help you."
Fluttershy looked up into Rarity's blue eyes. Rarity immediately ran towards Fluttershy and embraced her.
Fluttershy was wailing.
She didn't know anything else to do, but cry.

Jealousy and Lies

-Jealousy and Lies

Rarity comforted her sweet, yellow friend. Rubbing her mane, and reassuring her everything would be alright.
Rarity was starting to feel overwhelmed by all that she had learned in such a short time.
'Rainbow Dash crying over heartache. Loving Fluttershy. Being rejected. Fluttershy's heartbroken as well.'
Rarity looked around, Fluttershy still crying on her shoulder.

"Rarity?" Fluttershy sniffled, and tried to calm herself. Rarity, not expecting her depressed friend to speak, looked down quickly at her.

"Yes my dear, Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy pulled away from Rarity's comforting hoofs. She cleaned up her face as best she could before continuing.

"Do you think I'm a terrible pony?"
Rarity looked surprised by the question she was just asked. She blinked a few times, mouth slightly open.

"Why would I think such a thing about the most sweetest pegasus in all of Equestria?"

"Because I am! I am terrible!"
Rarity tried to place her hoof on Fluttershy's back, but Fluttershy stepped back swiftly.

"Fluttershy, why do you think that? You are such a--"

"I...I'm a...a liar!"
Fluttershy's eyes were starting to fill back up with tears. She closed them tightly, and a stream of tears ran down her cheeks. She clenched her teeth, and started to cry even harder.

Applejack had made her way into town. She had no apple bucking to do, or any other chores she could think of. So why not? She was more eager to see Rainbow Dash anyways.
She headed towards Sugar Cube Corner. As soon as she was about to step her hoof in the door, Twilight came rushing out and ran smack into Applejack. The two ponies, tangled in each other, found their way out of the mess.

"Oh Applejack, I'm so terribly sorry! I've just been looking for Rainbow Dash. I haven't seen her since yesterday. Do you by any chance know where she has gone to?"

Applejack looked at her unicorn friend. Looking for RD is exactly what Applejack was up to.

"Ah saw her this morning actually...but Ah didn't stop to chat...", Applejack wanted to tell Twilight about RD crying, but she already told Rarity. She felt she would be betraying her close friend by telling anypony else.

"Where was she at? I've been looking everywhere! She seemed flustered yesterday, and she was really tired. She told me she couldn't sleep. She also said she was anxious. But before I could find out the reason behind her behavior, she took off in a fit of rage. Or embarrassment rather."

Applejack tried to put the pieces together.

'Anxious? Embarrassed? Crying?' This did not sound like Rainbow Dash at all! RD was always so laid back, and cool about everything. What was happening to her friend?

"Well this mornin' Ah found her mopin' under a tree, near the forest. She didn't seem like herself. At all."

Applejack tried not to mention the whole crying situation. But it was hard not to tell Twilight.

'Ah'm not lying, Ah'm just not telling all the truth!' Applejack tried to reassure herself that she was doing the right thing for Rainbow.

'Wait. Isn't that still considered lying? Darn it!'

"Maybe she's still there! I will have to go look for her some more. I'm still worried about her anxiety and restlessness." Twilight started to walk away, but Applejack interrupted her.

"Well ya see, Ah sent Rarity to talk to her earlier. To see if she was awright. Ah haven't heard back from Rarity yet though. Ah'm not sure if she found her or not."

"Well I will check the forest first! If there is no sight of Rainbow Dash, then i will search for Rarity!" Twilight seemed very confident in herself as she turned back around in the direction of the forest. She started to walk away, but turned back once more.

"Maybe you should come with me, Applejack. I might need a helping hoof." Twilight smiled, and motioned Applejack to follow her. Applejack laughed softly, and caught up with Twilight. They started again on their search for Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash walked towards the edge of the Everfree Forest. Her wings were shaky, and she had a shiver down her spine.

"What are you waiting for Dash! You're the toughest pony Equestria will ever know! You made the world an awesomer world to live in!"

Rainbow Dash proudly raised her hoof in the air. She tried to put on her best smile, and started off into the forest. It was dark, and the air suddenly felt colder to Rainbow. A loud noise filled her ears, and she jumped back. A small owl revealed itself to Rainbow.

"God, Dash. Don't be a wimp." Rainbow Dash tried to pull herself together.

'Why am I here anyways? What good will this do? What am I trying to prove?'

Rainbow Dash stopped in her tracks.

"Maybe this isn't such a good idea. If nopony knows where I am...what if I need someponies help?"

Rainbow tried to find an excuse to turn around and go back into town; to safety. She wanted to see Fluttershy. She wanted to talk to her, and apologize for all the wrong she has ever done to her. She wanted to hold her closely, and make her her own.

With this in mind, Rainbow Dash decided to turn back. She moved in the direction of Ponyville, but something was stopping her from continuing her steps forward.

"What the hay is going on?" Rainbow Dash turned her head around to see if she was stuck on something. Nothing was there.

"Whoa, what is happening?" Rainbow started to feel fear. She couldn't move. Some sort of force was keeping her hoofs stuck to the ground. She struggled, and tried her hardest to pull away from the mysterious barrier. She pulled, and tugged, but even with all of her strength, the powerful pony could not move.

"Rainbow Dash..." A voice, like no other, called to her. Rainbow looked around, but there was nopony there.

"Who....who is there?!" Rainbow started to panic. She was frightened, and confused.

"What do you want with me?" Rainbow called out.

"Rainbow Dash.....don't you recognize me?" The voice answered. Rainbow did know the voice. It's sweet sound, it's loving tone. It was beautiful. Rainbow longed to hear it ever since yesterday.

"Fluttershy? Is it you? Where are you? I can't see you!" Rainbow's heart started to speed up. The sound of Fluttershy's voice filled Rainbow's heart with happiness. Forgetting that she was glued to where she stood, she started to become happy.

"Rainbow Dash. Don't you love me?" The invisible Fluttershy called out to Rainbow in a very mischievous way. The tone of her voice caused Rainbow to tingle. She liked it. She never heard Fluttershy speak to anypony in that way before. Maybe it's because...Fluttershy likes her!

Rainbow Dash started to feel giddy. She grinned more than she ever had before.

"Yes, Fluttershy! I do! I do love you! You're the only pony I have ever felt this way towards! You make me so happy, Fluttershy! Please, give me a chance! I promise I will be the be---"

"Really Rainbow Dash? Is that how you really feel?" Fluttershy cut her off mid-sentence. Rainbow looked up, and around again. She wanted to see Fluttershy, but there was no sight of her anywhere.

"Yes. It's true, Fluttershy! It's all true! Now...where are you? I can't seem to see where you're at." Rainbow Dash tried to move once more, and realized she still couldn't.

'Maybe I'm frozen from fear? But what is there to fear when Fluttershy is so close to me?' Rainbow stopped her struggles to think.

"I'm right here, Dashie. Quite being such a silly filly!" Fluttershy snickered in a playful way. Rainbow was starting to worry again. She couldn't move, and she heard Fluttershy speaking to her, but she was no where in sight. What was going on?

"Fluttershy, are you teasing with me? Good one! I've never thought of you to be a prankster Fluttershy. You really had me th--" Rainbow's voice trailed off. Everything was turning darker and darker. She was having trouble seeing. What was happening to her?

'I can't see! Whats going on? Where's Fluttershy?!'

Rainbow went into complete panic mode. She struggled as hard as she could. Her heart felt like it was going to explode. Her eyes were tearing up. Rainbow screamed. She screamed at the top of her lungs, and didn't stop. She couldn't stop! She was so scared. She'd never been that afraid in her life. So many questions riled up within her, and she knew no way of answering any of them.

"Rainbow! Rainbow?"

"Rainbow Dash? Are you alright?!"

"She's not responding!"

"Rainbow Dash!! Can you hear me?!"

Rainbow started to open her eyes. The shining sun burned her tired, and crying face. Two ponies were hovering above her. Who was it?
Suddenly she got a full look at who they were. There in front of her was Applejack and Twilight. Their faces were flourished with concern, and Applejack was rubbing Rainbow's head.

"You guys? What...what happened?" Rainbow looked around. She found that she was laying under the tree she had been crying at earlier.

"How....how did I get here? I was in the Everf--"

"We were looking for y'all everywhere Dash! Y'all had us all real worried when we saw you there uh screaming." Applejack's voice soothed Rainbow.

"It must had been a bad dream, Rainbow Dash. But it's okay. You're fine now." Twilight smiled gently at Rainbow. Her friends were starting to calm her down.

"It seemed so real..." Rainbow stopped.

"We know. We know."

Rarity and Fluttershy were still at the boutique. Fluttershy had long calmed down, and was now resting on Rarity's sofa. Rarity looked at her friend as she slept soundly. She was still thinking about what Rainbow had said.

'"Do I...love Fluttershy?"'

Rarity looked over at the time. 2:34 pm.

"This day has really gone by quickly. I wonder if Rainbow is alright." Rarity whispered to herself with concern. She was wondering about how Fluttershy was coping too. Fluttershy seemed to be taking it hard. Probably worse than Rainbow Dash, from what Rarity had seen anyways. But all Rarity could do was watch over her sad, yellow friend. Hoping for the best for her and Rainbow Dash.

Fluttershy started to moan. Her eyes were closed hard, and she whimpered. A bad dream, maybe? Rarity couldn't watch her friend suffer. She walked over to Fluttershy, and rubbed her back.

"It's okay, Fluttershy. It's only a dre--"

Rarity stopped when she finally noticed that Fluttershy wasn't even asleep. She was just pretending.

"Oh, Fluttershy." Rarity sat down next to her friend, still rubbing her back. She tried to comfort Fluttershy as much as she could.

"Where's...."

Rarity looked over at the pegasus. Fluttershy's mouth was moving, but no words reached Rarity's ears.

"What was that, dear?" Rarity moved in closer to Fluttershy.

"Where's...Rainbow...Dash?" Fluttershy looked away from Rarity. She wanted to know where Rainbow was. She wanted to see her. She wanted to apologize.

Rarity's eyes lit up. Fluttershy was asking about Rainbow Dash? Is that a good thing? Rarity looked for words to say.

"She's probably still under some tree. Or maybe Applejack went to go see her." Rarity thought that was probably what happened. It had been a while since Applejack sent Rarity to find Rainbow Dash. She probably got tired of waiting and went searching for herself.

Fluttershy sniffled. Then she spoke.

"With Applejack?" Fluttershy's short question was filled with...disgust? No, maybe anger? Or......jealousy?

"Yes. Well I'm not sure, but I thought that would be a pretty good gue--"

"I want to see her. Now." Fluttershy was starting to sound...bold.

Rarity stood up as Fluttershy did, and walked in front of her.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? It's pretty soon..."

Fluttershy walked passed Rarity, and turned back to look at her once again.

"I want to see Rainbow Dash. I need to see Rainbow Dash. I have to see Rainbow Dash, because.....I love Rainbow Dash."

Rainbow told Applejack and Twilight everything. She told them about Fluttershy, and how she loved her. How Fluttershy rejected her, and how she had been sitting under that tree all day crying. Applejack and Twilight were shocked. They would have never suspected this kind of behavior from the great Rainbow Dash. They thought she sounded kind of...soft. But they understood their friend, and tried to give her comforting words. Rainbow did appreciate her friends trying to help, but she still couldn't get her mind off of how Fluttershy turned her down.

Rainbow's feelings were overwhelming her. She had never had this experience before, so it was an awful lot on her. She tried to clear her mind of all the past incidents, but as much as she tried, Fluttershy could not be shaken from her thoughts. Rainbow was positive that she was in love. This was the first time she had ever cared for somepony so much. Sure she cared about her friends, and she would do anything for any of them, but Fluttershy was what Rainbow's world revolved around. And Fluttershy alone.

Applejack and Twilight led Rainbow back into town. They thought it would be best for her to try and relax, as if nothing ever happened.

But Rainbow knew...It would probably be a bad idea.

Racing through the town, and heading towards the forest, Fluttershy ran as fast as she could. Huffing and puffing, even some sweat ran down her forehead. Fluttershy was desperate to see the pony she longed for.

'I'm such a terrible pony. Thinking that Rainbow will even want to see me after what I put her through. She probably hates me, but I have to apologize even if she does. Even if she never forgives me. I have to do it. I need to tell her.'

Fluttershy's head was spinning like a record. She was dizzy, and her eyes were blurring. But even so, Fluttershy continued to run forward at full speed. She couldn't loose another moment. Fluttershy's anticipation was at it's brink. She opened her wings, and started to speed faster.

'Rainbow would probably be proud of me right now. Well....if none of that ever happened, maybe.'

Fluttershy shook her mind of the thoughts she was having. She had no time to think. She only had time to move as quickly as possible.

Reaching her destination near the forest, Fluttershy checked every single tree. Searching every space in the area. But there was no sight of Rainbow Dash, or anypony for that matter. Out of breath, Fluttershy slouched down.

"I can't believe I came all this way, and she's not even here."

Fluttershy sighed. She looked up at a tall, brightly colored tree.

"Sometimes....I wish I could be a tree..."

Pinkie Pie was amazed by the information she was hearing.

Rainbow, Applejack, and Twilight were now outside of Sugar Cube Corner with Pinkie Pie, filling her in on all that had happened to Rainbow Dash.

"So you see...Applejack and Twilight brought me here...to maybe feel better..." Rainbow Dash finished her story, and sat quietly.

Pinkie Pie looked directly into Rainbow Dash's eyes. Even with her usual gleeful attitude, the bright pink pony was losing her glow. Applejack noticed this and tried to cheer up the mood.

"So is anypony in the mood fer some apple pie? I can sure whip up us one in lickity spli--" Applejack stopped. Nopony was interested in Applejack's idea. They were all too upset.

Rainbow's attitude sure did effect the friends quickly. Without her perky, proud attitude, everypony seemed to have slipped into her hoofs as if it were them who was heartbroken.

The four ponies sat in silence. Nopony knew what to say to Rainbow Dash to cheer her up. Nothing worked. Rainbow Dash was almost completely non-responsive. Her eyes were lacking energy, her colors were lacking shine, and her heart was lacking...everything.

The silence was almost unbearable to Pinkie Pie. She wanted to make her friend happy. But she couldn't think of anyway to do so.

She suddenly had a thought.

'Everypony likes a song. And I sure do know how to sing songs! I should sing a song! I'm gonna' sing a song for Dashie!'

Pinkie's face lit up. She inhaled a mouth full of air, and she was on the verge of singing her first note.

"Don't cry Rainbo---"

"Yoo hoo!!" The sound of Rarity's glass shattering voice interrupted Pinkie Pie's musical number.

'Awe man! And that was going to be a great song! Maybe next time.' Pinkie smiled to herself.

Rarity was galloping her way over to the four ponies. Her mane was perfectly intact as always, but her face was flustered. She finally reached her friends, and stopped to catch her breath.

"Oh my. I have been looking for Flut--"

Rarity stopped when she noticed Rainbow Dash was sitting right across from her.

"It's okay, Rarity. I can handle it." Rainbow said with a not so convincing face.

Rarity looked at her other friends to see if they were alright with her continuing. Rarity watched the nods of everyponies head before she finished her sentence.

"I have been looking for Fluttershy." She tried not to make eye contact with Rainbow Dash as she said this.

"She was at my boutique. We had been there together for quite sometime....but all of a sudden she decided she wanted to look for...."

Rarity stopped. She didn't want to cause Rainbow Dash to have anymore confusing feelings.

"Go on, Rarity." Twilight looked at Rarity with reassuring eyes that Rainbow would be okay.

Rarity cleared her throat, and completed what she was trying to say.

"She went looking for you, Rainbow Dash." Rarity turned her eyes towards Rainbow. She was afraid that Rainbow would start crying, or something. But all Rainbow did was look back at her.

"Looking...for...me?"

Rainbow made out her thoughts into words.

Everypony just looked at Rainbow, then looked back at Rarity. She seemed to know a lot about how Fluttershy was doing through all this. All they knew was what Rainbow had told them. Fluttershy's side of the story was still a mystery to them all.

"Yes." Rarity wanted to tell Rainbow what Fluttershy had said right before she left.

'"I love Rainbow Dash..."' Rarity remembered Fluttershy's confession. With that, Fluttershy had left as quickly as possible. She ran out before Rarity could respond. Rarity stood there in shock when her friend told her this. She tried to make a decision on what to do. She made the decision to find Rainbow Dash. She made the decision to tell Rainbow Dash what she was told. That was her decision, and she was going to stand by it.

"Rainbow Dash..." Rarity called out to her friend in a small voice. She looked down at her hoofs, but then looked up into Rainbow's pink eyes. She had to look her in the face, and tell her. She wanted to sound sincere when she finally told Rainbow the truth from Fluttershy.

All Rainbow did was stare back at Rarity. She felt dizzy. Knowing Fluttershy was out there looking for her, and she didn't even know why.

'Why is she doing this? Does she hate me? Does she still want to be friends? Why? Why? Why?'

Rainbow's questions conquered her mind. She had no idea what was going on. Her confusion made her feel as if she was going to pass out. Her heart couldn't take anymore of this. She didn't know how to deal with it. She didn't know what to do!

"Rainbow Dash....before Fluttershy left...she told me something....she told me that she--"

'I don't want to know....I don't want to know!' Rainbow's mind was telling her.

"She said she...." Rarity's voice trailed off. She was still speaking, but Rainbow couldn't hear her. She looked around at Applejack, Twilight, and Pinkie Pie. Their faces were stunned in shock. Rainbow was confused. She looked back at Rarity who was now looking down. Her face was flushed. What had just happened? Why was everypony looking like this? Rainbow didn't hear anything.

"What did you--" Rainbow started, but stopped when she noticed somepony was heading her way.

This pony was running, but gracefully. Her yellow wings were spread, the air breezing through them. Her fluffy, pink mane and tail was also flowing in the wind. Her eyes....oh, her beautiful eyes, were filled with tears. Her mouth was clenched shut. The pony finally made her way over to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow turned around, and stared at Fluttershy. She didn't say a word. Applejack, Twilight, Pinkie, and Rarity all backed up, and gave the two ponies space. They moved their way into Sugar Cube Corner, but still glanced through the window with curiosity.

The two pegasus' stood their looking into each others eyes. Rainbow was feeling uncomfortable. She wanted to leave. She wanted to hide away where nopony would ever find her.

Fluttershy on the other hoof wanted to be there as much as possible. She was happy to see Rainbow Dash. It had seemed like so long. She missed being with her. She wanted to stay with her.

Both ponies knew nothing to say. Silence was the enemy in their case, and they didn't know how to stop it. Silence.

'God, what does she want? Does she want to tell me off? What does she want? I can't tell what she's thinking!' Rainbow's thoughts were killing her. She just wanted Fluttershy to say something. Anything!

'What if she doesn't accept me? She might....never want to speak to me again. I will have to do it anyways....I....I need to.' Fluttershy was worrying about how Rainbow would react to the truth. She felt terrible for everything she had done. There was nothing in all of the world that Fluttershy wanted more than Rainbow Dash to be by her side.

She decided to break the ear churning silence.

"Rainbow..." Fluttershy's voice ringed in Rainbow's ears. That sweet voice.

"Ye...Yeah?" Rainbow was afraid of what Fluttershy had to say. She didn't know what to expect.

"Rainbow...I....I'm sorry. I...I'm a terrible friend...."

Rainbow, still silent, didn't know what to think. She didn't know what to say. She just stared at Fluttershy hoping she would say more.

She did.

"You see...Rainbow....I.....I'm....in love.....with....."

Rainbow's heart was racing. She loved somepony else! She knew it had to be all along! Her heart shattered. She was devastated, and Fluttershy didn't even have to finish her sentence. She burst into tears.

"I should have known Fluttershy! I'm sorry I put you through all this pressure! I....I'm sorry! I hope....I hope you will forgive me!" Rainbow's words were vague, and Fluttershy could barely understand. Rainbow's tears was what Fluttershy focused on thought. She had never seen anypony cry this hard before. Especially Rainbow Dash.

"You."

Fluttershy completed her confession. She didn't know anything else to say to Rainbow. She wasn't even sure if Rainbow caught on.

Rainbow stopped sobbing. She turned her head towards Fluttershy. She cleaned her face up. Her mouth was slightly open.
Did Fluttershy just say she loved her? Is that what she just said? Uncertain, Rainbow found words to say.

"You love me?"

Fluttershy's face turned down. Rainbow's voice sounded upset. She didn't like that sound. She wasn't sure if Rainbow was mad at her, or just completely devastated.

"Yes. I do love you, I mean..."

Fluttershy trailed off. She didn't know how to tell Rainbow Dash what was going through her mind that day when Rainbow confessed. She was afraid to. But she knew. It was something that had to be done.

Rainbow's face showed confusion, and hurt. She didn't know why Fluttershy would say that after she told her she didn't feel that way. She didn't know what to say. She could only look directly at Fluttershy, and say nothing.

"I was afraid!" Fluttershy blurted out.

"I was afraid....of.....I was afraid of losing you....I was afraid...to admit.....to love you.....I was afraid....what everypony else would think....I was afraid that you would....get tired of me.....I was afraid.....that I wasn't good enough for you.....and now I'm afraid.....that you won't forgive me..."

Fluttershy had done it. She had spoken the truth. All of the truth. She wanted to just walk away now. She was prepared to be hated. To not be forgiven. She knew that lying was a mistake she should have never made. She wished...that she could go back in time, and change everything. She wanted to be with Rainbow Dash....she wanted Rainbow Dash to hold her, and love her.

-Pause For Dramatic Effect

Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie, and Rarity were watching through the window. Applejack turned away to give the two pegasus' privacy. Twilight followed, but Pinkie Pie and Rarity's eyes stayed glued to the scene. Rarity's ears twitched, and strained to hear the conversation between her two friends outside. Pinkie's facial expression stayed in the same way. It was like she was frozen. Applejack and Twilight tried to quietly pull the two ponies away from the window. Twilight grabbed Pinkie's fluffy tail with her mouth, and drug her into the kitchen. Applejack put her head on Rarity's buttocks, and pushed her after Twilight.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash stood in silence. Gazing into each other's eyes. The wind slightly blew through each pegasus' manes, and Rainbow got a tiny whiff of Fluttershy's sweet scent. She was breathing heavily, and her stomach was starting to feel light. Her mouth was open as if she wanted to speak, but no sound came out. Her eyes were small, and beady. Sweat dripped down her forehead. The cyan pegasus rearranged her hoofing, and stepped forward.

"You....you were afraid?"

Fluttershy stepped forward as well, and nodded her head timidly.

The two ponies were so close, but to Fluttershy, they felt so far away. She had done and blew it. Her chances with Rainbow Dash were completely cut. There was no chance. No chance at all. She could see in Rainbow's eyes all the pain she had caused her. If only she wasn't so scared all the time. If only she would have stood her ground, and excepted the wonderful offer Rainbow gave her. If only. Oh, if only.

Fluttershy's eyes traveled to the ground. She kicked at the dirt a little, and her heart started to sink. She herself had broken her own heart. She thought such a thing could not be possible, but now she knew it was. Her head ached, her eyes hurt, and her heart was soar. Fluttershy had never felt these feelings before. Everything was so foreign to her. And it all happened because of lies.

Her head still down, Fluttershy started to cry. The tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped onto the dirt. She squeaked a few times in the process of this, which made her want to cry even more.

'You're such a bad pony, Fluttershy. You're awful. Just so awful!'

The cyan pegasus could not take the pain anymore. She moved her hoofs towards Fluttershy, who was still crying. She lifted the crying face of the one she loved the most in all of the world. Her eyes closed, she moved towards Fluttershy closer...closer. Her muzzle finally met Fluttershy's. At first she just laid her's on Fluttershy's, but then their lips interlocked.

Eyes opening, Fluttershy stared in complete shock.

Rainbow, in front of her was now kissing her. Her mind was confused, her heart pounded, but Fluttershy didn't stop her. She was...enjoying it. She slowly let her eyes drop, and with this she passionately got involved with the kiss. The two pegasus' stayed like that for what seemed forever. They were both in complete bliss. Holding their most loved pony that closely, and kissing them was too wonderful. They both never wanted to let go. They never wanted to let go...

The yellow ponies leg twitched. Her wings started to flutter. She groaned and squeezed her eyes tightly, and released them.

Fluttershy opened her eyes to see she was still in the forest. Trees over her head. She had fallen asleep.

'Was it all just.....just a dream? I never....I never kissed....'

Fluttershy started to feel sick. Even her dreams were taunting her. She couldn't believe her mind would play such a terrible trick on her like that. She actually thought....that it was real. She thought that Rainbow Dash accepted her apology. She thought that Rainbow Dash....kissed her.

Fluttershy found her way to stand up. Her legs were shaky at first, but she didn't care. She had to go see Rainbow now! She had already wasted so much time! She hadn't even known that she had fell asleep. Her mind was fuzzy, but she shook all her thoughts out. She didn't want to think, she just had to do! Before it was too late. Before Rainbow decided to never speak to her again. She started off in a trot, which turned quickly into a run. A run like no other. Her legs were moving as fast as they could take her. Her motivation was high and she was determined to get to Rainbow Dash as soon as she could.

She stumbled over an uprooted branch, and fell. She immediately brushed herself off, and took off at full speed once again. Her hoof was soar, and a slight red stream ran down from her knee. The pain wasn't unbearable so Fluttershy ignored it. She didn't have the time to cry. She didn't have the time to rest. She didn't have the time for anything. A clock was ticking in her mind. Tick...tock...tick...tock...

Fluttershy felt as if she was losing it. The sound within her head was driving her insane. She felt her brain pulsing quickly. The faster she moved the more it hurt. But she didn't care. At this point she cared about nothing but Rainbow Dash. She didn't even care for own well being. Rainbow Dash was the only thing concerning her. The only thing she cared for.

The pegasus finally made it into town. She didn't stop her running though. She moved swiftly and contently. She was sure that Rainbow was nearby now. She could almost sense the presence of her. Confidence was building up in her. She felt it. She was sure that she was close. She knew it. She could feel it.

Fluttershy ran into Rarity's boutique first. She ran through all the rooms. It was left just like it was when Fluttershy had went looking in the forest. When Fluttershy told Rarity....

She sped out of the shop. Not forgetting to close the door before she ran away. She burst into Sugar Cube corner next. She slammed the door open. When she entered, her face looked insane. She turned and saw Mr and Mrs Cake were standing at the counter. They smiled oddly at Fluttershy in confusion.

"Oh...Hi...I'm sorry....I didn't know...forgive me..."

Fluttershy, without a response from the Cakes, ran out. Any other time and she would had been embarrassed, but at a time like this...embarrassment was the last of her worries.

She jolted quickly to Twilight's library. She opened the door quickly. Spike was on a ladder putting some books on the highest part of the shelves. He turned around at the sudden sound of the door opening. The ladder started to shake at his sudden movement.

"Whooooaaaa!" Spike caught his balance, and the ladder leaned back against the shelves.

"Fluttershy? What...what's wrong?" Spike started his way down the stairs. His little dragon legs trying to reach each step.

"Do you know where Twilight is? Rarity? Applejack? Pinkie Pie? Anypony?" Fluttershy's voice was cracking. She forgot to mention Rainbow Dash. But she didn't add her in.

Spike scratched his head. He was trying to make since of Fluttershy's quickly asked question. He blinked a few times, mouth agate, and then continued.

"Uh...I'm not sure. I think Twilight said something about going to Sweet Apple Acres with everypony. Weren't....you invited, Fluttershy?"

Spike was shocked to see that Fluttershy, the most sweetest pony, was left out of the other ponies fun. This was because, of course, he didn't know anything that was going on. He quickly regretted his question though when he realized the look on Fluttershy's face.

"No...well....I was sleeping. I'm sure they didn't want to bother me. I wasn't feeling too well earlier, but I'm feeling much better now. So I was just wondering where they went off to so I could catch up."

Fluttershy's tone of voice wasn't convincing Spike, but he just went along with what she said.

"Okay, Fluttershy. I'm sure they will be happy to see you are feeling well now!"

And with that, Fluttershy left Spike in the library. She headed on her way to Sweet Apple Acres. Hoping that Rainbow Dash was really there. Her legs were starting to feel weak again, but Fluttershy was not going to stop now. She was so close. This time she was sure that she was heading in the right direction.

Rainbow was definitely at Sweet Apple Acres. Fluttershy could feel it.

Closer and closer, Fluttershy got to Applejack's farm. Her hoofs were carrying her at a fast speed once again. Her soft, pink mane and tail were flowing in the wind. The sound of her galloping rung in her ears. She almost tripped over a stone, but she leaped over it with grace and diligence.

The soft spoken pony seemed to be turning into a newer, less timid Fluttershy. Fluttershy took note of this in her mind. She thought it to be a good thing.

Fluttershy's heart was beating to the sound of her hoofs hitting the ground. The rythm played itself in her mind as she approached the apple orchard.

There she saw her. Fluttershy could see the cyan pegasus' rainbow colored mane overhead. She felt her heart skip a beat. A smile started to form across her distraut, yellow face. She could feel the happiness start to spread throughout her entire body.

She sped up. Adrenaline kicked in. The small pony drug her tired hoofs over to the one she loves. She was panting, but she had no more time to waste.

"RAINBOW!"

Her voice carried through the entire orchard. The unexpected loud sound made Rainbow turn around quickly, and she almost fell over. Her wings twitched at the edges as she saw Fluttershy run towards her and call out her name.

The usually shy pegasus seemed as if she had more confidence. This was because she did. Fluttershy built up strength within herself for Rainbow Dash. She did everything for Rainbow Dash. And it was all worth it.

"Rainbow! Rainbow!" The pegasus still running, finally met at Rainbow's hoofs. Fluttershy got down on her hind quarters and hugged Rainbow's legs. Hot tears from her eyes were now trickling on Rainbow.

"Flutt...Fluttershy...what are you doing here?"

Rainbow could feel the warmth of Fluttershy against her own skin. Her cheeks turned red from the feeling.

"Rainbow....." The crying pegasus got up from her embrace.

Rainbow lifted her hoof. She pulled it forward towards Fluttershy's face, but skittishly jerked it away when Fluttershy moved her head down. But Rainbow wasn't going to stop now. Fluttershy was standing in front of her, crying. She wasn't going to be a wuss now. She lifted her hoof back up to Fluttershy, and stroked her tear stained cheek. Rainbow could feel the softness of Fluttershy. She loved it.

"Rainbow..." Fluttershy started again.

Rainbow Dash looked down into Fluttershy's amazing eyes. They glistened in the sunshine, and Rainbow could see her reflection.

"Yeah...Fluttershy?"

Rainbow felt as if she was the timid one now. It was like Rainbow and Fluttershy switched places. But she wasn't going to let that be known.

"I want you...Rainbow I need you!"

Rainbow put her hoof down on the grass. Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie, and Twilight were once again walking away. They still stayed within hearing range though.

The blue and rainbow pegasus shuffled under her hoofs. Her mind was racing.

'She wants me? But I thought....I thought....'

Fluttershy's voice was saying the truth. Rainbow could tell. She sounded sincere. Honest.

Rainbow didn't know what to say. She just stared back at Fluttershy. Rainbow looked at her in awe.

Suddenly the yellow pegasus turned around. She started to walk away. Away from Rainbow Dash. Out of reach. Soon she would be out of sight. But Rainbow knew she wouldn't be out of mind.

Rainbow called out:

"Wait!"

Fluttershy stopped in her tracks. She slightly turned her head in Rainbow's direction. Her eyes hit Rainbow's heart with sorrow, and regret. She knew that Fluttershy was hurting. Fluttershy was hurting really bad. And Rainbow was not going to let that happen to the only pony she will ever love.

"Don't leave me Fluttershy....don't leave me again...."

Fluttershy turned her hoofs back around where she was facing Rainbow fully.

Her head was still down low, and Rainbow knew she probably had said the wrong thing.

"I mean...Fluttershy...what I mean is...I don't want to lose you again....I can't bare thinking of losing you..."

Fluttershy's head lifted slightly, and her ears twitched.

She wanted to tell Rainbow that she would never leave her. She wanted to assure Rainbow that she would always be there. But no words could be made from her lips.

Rainbow noticed that Fluttershy was going to stay silent. She thought of something else to say.

"Fluttershy....I love you."

"Fluttershy....I love you."

Rainbow Dash finally said it. At first she thought it was a dream again, but this time she felt the words. They were real. Rainbow was tired of playing games. She was tired of postponing the truth. She finally did what was on her heart. She finally said how she felt. And Rainbow Dash had never felt better in her whole life.

A smiled formed across her face. Not a smile of pride, or conceit, but of compassion, and love. She was standing her ground. She was no longer embarrassed to say it. She would tell everypony in the world if she had to. She was so proud to say it. She was proud to be in love with Fluttershy. There was nopony else she would have ever dreamed of loving more than Fluttershy.

All she wanted was to stay by Fluttershy's side and protect her. She wanted to comfort her when need be. She wanted to feel her warmth all the time. She wanted Fluttershy to be hers, and hers alone.

Rainbow started to walk towards Fluttershy.

Fluttershy timidly backed up slightly when she noticed the beautiful pegasus was walking her way. She tried to build up all her courage to lift her head. To face her. Her turquoise eyes traveled over to Rainbow Dash.

Their eyes met once again, but this time Rainbow was not afraid.

She walked up to the love of her life, and embraced her gently. Fluttershy stood there for a moment, but then returned the hug. They wrapped each other in their own warmth for what seemed like the longest time. The silence was no longer an enemy to them, it was now complete happiness. Their embrace spoke more words than their mouths ever could. The two mare pegasus' held each other with love and care.

"Rainbow Dash..."

Fluttershy's meek voice broke the quietness. Without letting go of Fluttershy, Rainbow replied.

"Yes, Fluttershy?"

The sound of Rainbow's cute, raspy voice repeated itself in Fluttershy's ears. She almost lost her train of thought while she was enjoying the lovely sound of Rainbow Dash. She finally found her voice once more and continued.

"Rainbow...I love you too..."

Fluttershy slightly smiled as she heard those words come from her own mouth out loud. She felt accomplished. She finally did it. Those words rung through her mind.

I love you....I love you....

Rainbow let go of Fluttershy's warmth. She faced her lover. Her heart was filled with joy. A joy that she had never felt before. The intensity of those words made her blood pump quicker. Her pulse was raising. Her head was rushing. Her heart was pounding. The feeling felt as if Rainbow was as light as a feather. Her body lifted, and chills ran through her skin. She could barely sit still.

Looking deep within Fluttershy's heart, Rainbow felt at peace. She felt that was where she needed to be. It was where she belonged. Fluttershy had opened up her heart to Rainbow, and made a place especially for her. Rainbow finally felt at rest within herself.

She leaned in towards Fluttershy.

Fluttershy took the hint and did the same.

They both met each others lips halfway.

The two pegasus', lost in the taste of love, felt the lips of each other. To Rainbow, she had never felt anything so soft, and so sweet in her entire life. The feeling was magical.

Fluttershy felt the same way. Her first kiss now belonged to Rainbow Dash. Her first, and only love.

Their kiss seemed to last forever, and that was perfectly okay with each of them. When they finally retreated, all they could do was stare, and smile at one another.

Both hearts were pumping intensely. They moved back in for another kiss.

A small squeak woke the rainbow pegasus. Her eyes slowly opened, and darkness poured into them. It took a moment for her sight to adjust. She turned over on her side, revealing the cute, yellow pony. Her sweet, sleeping face amused Rainbow Dash. She couldn't help but stare. Her face was so adorable.

The yellow pegasus squirmed a little, and mumbled something. Rainbow could hardly make it out.

Rainbow...

The cyan pegasus blushed, but continued to smile. Fluttershy moved in closer to Rainbow Dash. Her head was now resting on Rainbow's chest.

Rainbow's heart was beating so loud, it was a wonder how it didn't wake the sleeping Fluttershy.

Rainbow covered Fluttershy with her arm, and drifted back into a deep, sweet, sleep.

Fluttershy stretched her leg, and her wings twitched slightly. She opened her eyes to see Rainbow Dash's face. She lifted her hoof, and stroked her rainbow mane.

Sun was seeping through the cottage's windows. The light burned Rainbow's eyes. She squeezed them tightly, then slowly released them. Fluttershy was by her side, smiling at her. This was the best morning Rainbow had ever had.

"Good morning, sleepy head." Fluttershy said with a tiny giggle.

Rainbow grinned at the sound of Fluttershy's greeting. She softly touched Fluttershy's face, then leaned in and kissed her cheek.

"Good morning."

The two pegasus' were lost in each others gaze. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, Angel was thumping his foot waiting for food, but all Fluttershy and Rainbow noticed was each other.

They were finally together. They each finally had their lover next to them. Their was no feeling in all of the world that was greater than this.

"Love...you..."

The small voice barley reached Rainbow's ears.

"What was that, Flutters?"

Rainbow placed her hoof back on Fluttershy's soft face.

"I love you." Fluttershy said. Her eyes sparkled.

Rainbow took the opportunity for a kiss.

They two ponies lips were locked tightly together. Fluttershy's face turned hot, and Rainbow started to blush. It was still as magical as the first time. Nothing had changed. Nothing would ever change. Their love would always be fresh, as if it had just begun.

Rainbow released herself from Fluttershy.

"I love you too. I always will." Rainbow smiled gently at her cute lover.

In all her life she never thought she would be this soft. This lovey. This mushy. But sometimes, ponies change when it comes to somepony they hold dear. Rainbow finally knew this. She finally experienced it. She finally knew what love truly was. And to Rainbow Dash, it was the best feeling ever. Love. She loved the feeling of it. She loved the feeling of Fluttershy. She completely loved it.

"Will you always love me?" Fluttershy said with a slight sound of fear.

Rainbow gave Fluttershy a reassuring look.

"Of course, Flutters. There's nopony else. It has always been you. It always will be you."

Fluttershy looked up at Rainbow with reassurance.

"They say your first love will always be your only love, even if you're not together. That feeling of love for that pony will always be in your heart. No matter how deep. It will always be there. Rainbow, you will always be in my heart. No matter what happens in the future. I will never forget you. I will never forget this feeling you have given to me. I will never forget this love that we share now. I will always have it, it will always be within me."

Rainbow was so happy to hear this. Fluttershy was so perfect to her. Everything about her was perfect.

"The same goes for me. I will always love you. Only you. Nopony else will I love like I love you. These moments we have together, I will cherish them for all eternity. I will always be with you. In heart, and in mind."

Rainbow couldn't believe the lovey dovey things that were coming out of her very mouth, but she was serious about them. Everything she said to Fluttershy was the complete truth.

All they could do now was gaze into each other, and smile.

Fluttershy started to giggle, and in no time at all, both ponies were laughing. They were so happy. Both of them. The time they had together was endless. They shared their joy with each other with every passing second. They filled each other up with warmth, and love.

The two lovers could almost touch each others hearts. They could almost hold the feeling in their hooves, and kiss it. They were so close, physically, and mentally.

Rainbow wrapped her arms around Fluttershy. She playfully nibbled at her ear, and it sent chills down Fluttershy's body. The yellow pegasus let out a small squeak. Rainbow giggled at the sound of it. Fluttershy timidly smiled back.

"You're so cute." Rainbow said, still giggling.

Fluttershy's face blushed even more with this.

Side by side, the two ponies lay. Overwhelmed with joy. Their hearts in tune.

Fluttershy looked up at the ceiling, and Rainbow did the same.

Hoof in hoof, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash sat in silence, taking in all the beauty that each pony gave them. All the love. All the kindness. All the loyalty.

Their heads turned towards each other. Their eyes were magnets, pulling each other into their gaze. There was nothing more they could have asked for. All they ever wanted was right before their very eyes.

Fluttershy snuggled her head against Rainbow's body. Rainbow covered her wing over her sweet, Fluttershy.

"Never leave me, Rainbow..." Fluttershy whispered.

Rainbow looked down upon Fluttershy's closed eyes, then directed her eyes towards the sun outside.

"I won't....I won't."

Why would she leave? For where would she go?

'For we are in your world, my world, our world.'

The End
