Chapter 1
Her breathing slowed down, and she halted in her spot.
Nothing looked the same.
Nothing was the same.
~Flashback a few days~
“Ooooh Spike i’m so excited to see the Princess! She said she has a whole weekend planned out for me and her! She also said you can go gem hunting on the castle mines if you want..” Twilight mused.
“Gems? Oh boy Twilight let’s go!” Spike replied.
“Oh Spike, remember your manners! We wouldn’t want another birthday incident, would we?” Twilight replied while giving Spike a patient look.
“I know Twilight, I know..” Spike said, blushing.
Suddenly the sound of beating wings right behind them caused the two friends to jump. Twilight whirled around and her face lit up with a huge smile upon seeing the regal figure before her that was the Princess.
“Twilight! So glad you could make it!” Princess Celestia said after recovering from her hasty landing behind Spike and Twilight Sparkle, her most faithful student.
Princess Celestia really was something. She was tall, slender and as royal as you could get. Long white wings stretched out over her back fluttered slightly and her beautiful multi-colored mane flowed through the wind on her side. Her tall horn was perfectly shaped and had a crown sitting at her base. Sparkling gold hoof plates glimmered at Twilight and the reflection from Celestia’s collar nearly blinded spike, as he was shorter than Twilight.
Twilight snapped out of her trance and looked at the Princess. “Sorry, Princess I’m just a little.. errr...sleepy.”
Celestia’s eyes widened. “We can reschedule if you need a nap! I have many places in the castle you could nap and-”
Twilight blushed “No, I’m really alright Princess... let’s just go have fun this weekend.”
Celestia smiled and turned to Spike “My dear Spike, Ralph is here to escort you to the mines. Have fun my dragon friend.”
“Oh boy thanks ‘Tia!” Spike said as he ran up and hugged one of the Princesses legs.
Twilight and Celestia looked at each other and laughed as the baby dragon ran off after Ralph.
“Let’s go Twilight, we have much to do!” Celestia called.
Twilight galloped after her princess, staring at her plot as she walked.
~another flashback, 3 years before~
“Uhhh... Pwincess i dont know if this is what we ah supposed to be doin...” Twilight stammered.
“It’s ok my dear....I promise you’ll like it” Celestia whispered into Twilight's ear.
Twilight felt a cold hoof on her back, ruffling her mane. Twilight opened her mouth to protest but another hoof was shoved into her mouth to silence her.
Twilight gave up and let the hoof rub on her back. Her eyes fluttered and then she relaxed. Celestia just smiled and kissed her on the forehead. Then the princess walked over to the couch, and proceeded to open a forbidden book. Twilight's eyes widened. Celestia giggled an ogled at what was on the pages, and then finished a few minutes later. Then she stood up, and said “Twilight, no one must know about today. Dismissed.”
~back to a few days past~
Twilight snapped out of it and stared at the Princess, who had halted behind Twilight, looking at her plot. They were both thinking the same thing. Twilight just knew it.
The rest of the day was awkward, especially with Celestia being so touchy feely all the time. She had even put her hand in between Twilight's legs at one point.
Walking home from the store with the Princess, Twilight felt at home, and safe by her side. Then a frantic guard ran up to the Princess and hastily whispered something into her ear. Celestia’s eyes widened.
Celestia pushed Twilight behind her and halted.
This cannot be good... thought Twilight.
Suddenly the street cleared. Frantic ponies ran past Twilight and the Princess knocking over them both. Then, from the middle of the street a shady figure appeared.
Striding down the street with his jet black coat and dark purple mane, he paused to look at a trembling child. He flexed his black wings and pointed his horn at the sky. Twilight sucked in her breath. He’s an alicorn.. she thought. I thought only Celestia and Luna were alicorns... He extended a hoof and the shivering pony slowly accepted. He then proceeded to kick her square in the chest. He chuckled and kept walking. Twilight couldn't believe what she had seen. She opened her mouth to scream but Celestia placed a hoof over her mouth.
Then the shady colt spoke.
“Celestia! So great to see you! You look like shit as usual.” He said, smirking.
Celestia pawed at the ground and spoke in a tone Twilight had never heard before. “ Samos, I thought we had agreed on the treaty lines last year.”
Chucking, the colt replied with a smooth tone. “ No, my dear Princess of Equestria, you decided to take my land for your pony friends.”
“That is not true and you know it!” Celestia raged, “ Do not put words in my mouth!”
“Your ponies aren’t that special! They are as normal and avera-” He paused, awestruck.
“What? Spit it out, you ruffian!” Celestia shot back.
The black mare was frozen, looking behind Celestia. Confused, Celestia whirled around to see Twilight had come out from behind her. Twilight and the colt had locked eyes. Twilight's face was lit with horror and confusion, but Samos’ was filled with passion and emotion.
No, Celestia thought. He couldn’t want her.... could he?
“Celestia, I will leave your land of Equestria and return home, if i may have”, he paused again,
“have... her.” He said while pointing a hoof at Celestia.
Twilight gasped.
“No.” was all Celesta could manage to say.
“Celestia, I’m asking for one pony in exchange to save an entire nation!” Samos exclaimed
“No, she is... my most faithful student.” Celestia whispered.
“Celestia, this is a small price for me to pay for the safety of Equestria” said a voice from behind her.
“Twilight? No, I can’t allow you to do that.” Celestia replied, with a look of worry crossing her face.
Twilight sighed and shrugged at the black colt.
The black colt straightened up. “ Fine.” He whistled.
Out of nowhere, 10 pegasi shot past the Princess, scooping up Twilight in their arms as they flew by.
Celestia immediately shot straight up into the sky, but all she could see was Samos darting away, his ink black wings blending with the dark storm clouds that had just gathered above.
Celestia slowly drifted to the ground, and slumped over. Her guards surrounded her, and she pushed them away, asking only for 1 pony, her sister, Luna.
~A few hours later~
“They took Twilight! My favorite student! Samos just... just, took her!” Celestia ranted as she paced around the castle bedroom.
Luna, who sat curled on the bed, replied with “Let’s go after her. We can leave Equestria and go to Solandia for a day. We haven’t been there in years.”
“But, my people....” Celestia stammered.
“If we call Twilight's friends, I’m sure they will act as leader for a day. After all, they are the Elements of Harmony...” Luna said while playing with a piece of string on the bed.
“NO.” Celestia screeched. “ They must not know.”
“Kayyy... Geez ‘Tia, this really has you worried. “ Luna replied.
“I know, Luna... I know.” Celestia said, while staring out the window, looking at the black sky filled with flashes of lightening. I’m not going to get any sleep tonight... thought Celestia Let’s hope we make it in time.
~Meanwhile, in Solondia~
Twilight shivered. It was very cold, even though she sat in a bed filled with hundreds of blankets.
The door creaked open.
“Princess? Is that you?” Twilight asked.
“No.” said the voice.
Twilight froze. Oh my god. It’s Samos. Why is he here. What does he want? Oh Celestia help me please! Twilight thought.
“Samos, are you going to return me to Equestria tomrrow as promised?” Twilight timidly asked.
Samos strode into the room. “Do I scare you?” He asked.
Too taken aback to fully respond, all Twilight could stammer was “ Uhm, uh I don’t, I don’t know... I-
The colt sighed. “Just as I thought...” He said.
Twilight smiled. He was a relatively handsome colt, but she preferred mares.
“Samos, you seem like a nice colt, but I actually like mares....” Twilight explained.
Samos silently listened as she told her tale. Then he stood up.
“Twilight, have you been with a colt before?” Samos asked.
“Yes, of course...” Twilight confusedly replied.
“Good. Then it won’t hurt as much.” He whispered.
Twilight’s screams could be heard all night.
~ The next day~
Celestia and Luna flew past the border of Equestria, past the magic wall the shielded Equestria from the horrors of Solandia, and across the deep gorge that separated the two lands.
They quickly approached the Ponyian Sea, and they lowered themselves till their hooves dragged on the salty water, spraying them with the brisk ocean mist. Up ahead, they could see Ponyiads, half pony/ half mermaid, jump in and out of the water. Luna surged ahead and quickly gave herself a tail with a swimming spell. She swam back and jumped next to Celestia, who flew above the water. Luna flopped on her back and tucked her wings into her side and used her tail to propel her. She was just as fast as her sister, even in the water. After a few minutes of silence, Luna dipped underwater and stayed down below for a minute before popping out of the brilliant blue ocean, back to her normal self.
Luna cackled all the way to city while doing loops around her serious sister. Celestia just rolled her eyes, but couldn’t help sneaking a smile. As they neared Hoofdon the sisters slowed and prepared for their entrance. As they touched down in the main plaza, many of the animals stopped and stared. Celestia kicked Luna, as she was staring at the variety of creatures gathered there. Soon they were airborne again, on their way to the castle of Samos.
“Woah! Celestia, did you see that? I swear, there were pegasi, unicorns, and cows and lions and birds and they were acting like it was no big deal! And they were talking on little devices that glowed and- Wow! Let’s come here more often ‘Tia! We should come here more often!” Luna babbled.
Ugh.. She really cant keep focus. Well she is younger than me.....Celestia thought.
Soon Celestia saw the castle in the distance. Her wingtips burned with fury and a rage Celestia had never felt was suddenly upon her. She pushed faster and shot past Luna.
Ha! The Wonderbolts have nothing on me. Celestia thought.
She broke through the main stained glass window just in time to see Samos, covered in blood enter the room. Celestia tried to pull her weak body off of the ground, but the constant flying and shards of glass embedded in her hide didn’t help her physical condition.
“Celestia! How did you get here?” Samos raged.
“Where is she?” Celestia demanded.
A weak moan drifted down from the hall.
“Twilight? Is that you?” Celestia asked.
The moan turned into a piercing scream of pain.
Celestia, overcome with a newfound strength, pulled her body up and darted at Samos. She knocked him over, then with extreme clumsiness, ran down the hall. She stopped at the door with the screaming, opened it, and gasped.
There Twilight was, covered in blood and cuts, lying on a table. She had needles stuck in her body and looked like she had been beaten pretty badly. Her mane was cut in patches and her horn was... gone. Celestia searched the room, and then looked at the cart next to her. She padded over to it and looked at it.
Upon it lay a knife, a box of pins, rubbing alcohol and Twilight’s horn.
Samos chuckled from behind her. “Pretty sight, isn’t it?” He suggested.
Celestia looked at the beaten Twilight. “Why, Samos?” Celestia asked.”What did she do? “
Samos looked down. “ I don’t answer to you.” He mumbled and left the room. Celestia looked down at Twilight and realized, she wasn’t breathing.
Twilight Sparkle, was dead.
No tears were shed. The shock was enough. Celestia should have felt weak. But instead, she left the room, walked down the hall, found Samos, and beat the living crap out of him.
On the flight home Celestia felt the hot tears run past her cheeks and graze her wingtips as she rocketed through the sky. Then she remembered. Luna.
“Heeyy ‘Tia! Why aren’t you with Twilight?” said a voice from below.
“Luna!” Celestia gushed. She dived down and attacked her sister with a hug.
“Woaaah ‘Tia let goooo-” They hit the water with a bang and plummeted down till they were surrounded by confused fish. Luna grabbed her sobbing sister and pulled her to the surface.
“You okay?” Luna questioned once they were airborne again.
“Twilight’s.. “ Celestia managed between sobs.”..dead.”
“Oh ‘Tia I’m so sorry...” Luna said. “Let’s get you home”. Soon the pair was almost at the Castle in Canterlot.
“Oh good, my bed...” Celestia murmured.
Celestia broke free from Luna and flew into her room and landed on her bed.
“I’ll see you later ‘Tia!” Luna called from outside as she flew away.
Celestia sighed and sunk into the deepest sleep she would ever have.
~in Celestia’s dream~
Celestia looked around the room. All she saw was Twilight laying down. She ran up to the purple pony.
“Oh Twilight! I had the most horrid dream!” Celestia babbled. Then she noticed the room had changed. It was now a funeral home. She watched as all of Twilight’s friends came up and paid their respects to Twilight, who was now in a coffin. Celestia gasped. She ran up to Rarity, who was laying a beautiful sash of jewels on Twilight.
“Rarity!” Celestia screamed.
No response.
“Rarity please!” Celestia begged.
Rarity turned to face the Princess, than walked through her.
“No, this can’t be...” Celestia yelled.
Suddenly, she heard laughing. Samos’ laughing. Soon, everyone in the funeral home was laughing. Celestia turned to see what they were laughing at. It was a picture of Princess Celestia that Applejack was holding up.
“Silly Princess, she must die!” Pinkie screamed, while erupting in fits of laughter.
“No!” Celestia raged. Then she blacked out.
~Present Day~
The rain pounded on her back as she stood awkwardly on the ground. Suddenly, it ceased. The mare opened her eyes, and looked past her soaking wet mane. The rain still pounded all around her., except for in a 12 foot circle around her. She looked up and saw Rainbow Dash staring down at her, holding the clouds open.
“Princess? That you? You okay?” She questioned
Celestia gave her a helpless look and collapsed. From her dreary half open eyes, all she could see was the sky clear in less than 5 seconds and at least 9 ponies crowded around her. Her eyes, crusted half shut from the salty tears closed once more. Then she heard a scream.
~later~
“Heya Doc.” Rainbow Dash’s voice called.
“Hello Rainbow. And hello Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Spike, and Pinkie. “ Doctor Whooves replied.
“H-h-how is she?” Fluttershy stammered.
“Better. We hope.” Nurse Lollipop responded.
“Oh boy! We sure hope she wakes up soon! We haven’t seen Twilight in weeks and we were gettin kinda worried!” said Pinkie.
Chucking at Pinkie’s optimsim, Doctor Whooves replied. “ Pinkie, you should visit all the rooms in the hospital. I’m sure you’d brighten everyones day.”
“Now hang on just a minute Doc, do ya know when ar Princess here is plannin’ to wake up?” Applejack asked.
“No.” Doctor Whooves replied coldly.
“Well I do hope she gets better soon, because I am so very tired of seeing these drab hospital clothes” Rarity mused.
“Do you know where Twilight is Doc?” Spike pleaded.
“I am very sorry, but no.” Doctor Whooves replied.
“Spike? Is that you?” Celestia asked, half awake..
“Princess!” All 7 ponies and Spike chorused.
“My dears, I am perfectly fine.” Celestia tried.
“Let’s get you to therapy....” Doctor Whooves interrupted.
“No” Celestia responded, “ I must make an announcement to the citizens of Equestria. All of them.”
The ponies watched in amazement as the Princess pulled her beaten body off of the bed and sauntered out the door.
“And that’s why she’s our Princess y’all.” Applejack chuckled.
~At the announcement.~
Murmurs in the crowd.
“What do you think happened?”
“ I heard she fainted!”
“I haven’t seen her in weeks!”
“Maybe she has a secret lover, and she’s pregnant!”
Celestia stepped up to the podium. Every pony in Equestria was there. They all fell silent.
“My dear citizens..” Celestia began.” There is many secrets I have kept from you. After much consideration, I have decided to reveal some. First off, Equestria is not the only land in the world.” The ponies in the crowd gasped. Celestia continued “ There is a land called Solondia, where all animals come together. Lions and ponies shop at the same stores. Anicorns are regularities. There are even ponyiads.” The room filled with whispers.”I have been there. The ruler of their land has passed. His name was Samos. And during his passing, he took one of our own. Twilight Sparkle has been killed.” The hall was filled with shouts, sobs and cries. “My ponies, it is time. We must wage war. They have come into our territory, taken one of us, and brutally murdered her!” Celestia was shouting now. The hall let out cheers of agreement. “ I have organized the three groups of attack for your training. Earth ponies, pleas exit with Applejack and Pinkie Pie. All children, elderly, and ill of every race stay here.”
Celestia’s eyes scanned the crowd. She saw crying ponies, fillies being torn from their parents and many ponies filled with blinding rage. She smiled.
“Pegasi,” She continued, “ Exit with Rainbow Dash and Spitfire.” The pegasi whooped and hollered as they all darted out of the room. “ Ditzy, please stay.” Princess called. Ditzy sighed and flew into a wall, then slumped to the ground giggling. The Princess sighed. “ Unicorns,” She commanded,” Follow Rarity and Trixie please.” The unicorns huffed and walked out. Celestia then looked at the remaining, the group of Misfits known as the young, sick and elderly. “ You all shall go with Fluttershy” Celestia said in a much softer tone. The Princess sighed and slowly cantered out of the room.
Twilight Sparkle Celestia thought You shall be avenged.
