A thousand years ago when in the magical land of Equestria. Humans and Ponies lived in harmony and lived as equals through out the lands. Humans and Ponies have shared knowledge of the use of tools, trades, diplomacies, and magic. The Humans have learned very quickly with the new knowledge of magic given as did the ponies learn the use of tools and mechanics.
But one day in the Magic Academy of humans, one human has learned a two rare elements that no human had possessed in their lives. Light. But a fatal accident had happened and discovers he not only has light, he has Darkness. The headmasters of the Academy have said they have no knowledge of about this new talent, and informed the Ponies for assistance, transferring the boy to Canterlot.
It was hard being the only human in an academy only for ponies. But he endured it, because he has a path he has chose, to protect Equestria from the fall of evil. He has spent every available time studying to learn to control his powers. As his knowledge grew, so did his power, as his power, so did his heart. But when there is Light, there will be Darkness.
Princess Celestia has saw the human's potential and pronounce him to be her protector and was named "The Grey."
But when night never sets. Nightmare Moon rises and vows to let the night last forever. For some reason, the human civilization had disappeared, no one had seen them since Nightmare Moon's reign.
The Grey told Celestia to get the elements of harmony as he fends of Nightmare Moon. The battle was fierce, the first human to ever face against a powerful Alicorn, fighting in even battle. But before Princess Celestia came back with the Elements, Nightmare Moon cast curse upon The Grey, making his power and mind to grow into darkness as she gave him immortality to suffer. Celestia uses the Elements of Harmony and permanently seal her sister away from. But at what cost?
The Grey is now the last human to remain on Equestria, his curse slowly spreading like poison. He now leaves Canterlot and ventures of to the world of Equestria, hoping to find a cure.
A lavender color Unicorn named Twilight Sparkle, laid next to a tree with some open books lay besides her. "The Elements of Harmony, The Grey?" she said to her self. "Where have I heard of them before?"
A large figure in a large grey cloak with hood. He stood on two legs and his arms length down below his waist. His right hand held a walking stick and the left held on a sling of a large pack with a staff attached to the pack. Though his left arm is more armored in silver, along with chains and symbols of sealing runes. He walks down the road down to the little town called Ponyville. He then stops and looks at the sight of the little town. He stabs the walking stick to let it stand and uses his free hand to lift his hood up to reveal a structured hairless face, only the top of his head is shagged with black hair. His right eye that is brown and the other is dark red.
He lets out a gently smile. "Ponyville, it hasn't changed one bit." He said and picks up his walking stick and continues walking down to Ponyville. "I wonder how Wheela is doing?" he said as he felt a gust of wind blew behind him, the leaves were carried with the wind and glide to Ponyville.
In a large house about half a mile away from Ponyville and next door to Sweet Apple Acres. An orange colored Pegasus mare with light purple main and tail swept the front porch to brush of the leaves with a broom in her hooves, She then felt a gentle breeze with the light from the sun shine to her, she took notice as she felt a presence of someone she dearly loves. "...Chris?"
The Twilight in Canterlot gallops to the library, passing by anypony and ignoring them. "I know I heard of them before?" she said to herself and gallops to library doors.
A small purple dragon, walking on his hind legs and in his claws held a small present as he walks to the door. But that didn't go to well when the doors flung open, punched the small dragon across the room.
"Spike! SPIKE! Spike?" Twilight cried out for someone in the library. The small purple dragon presumed Spike got up as he rubs the back of his head. "There you are." she presumed and gallops up the stairs. "Quick find me an old copy of "Predictions and Prophecies." she ordered the little dragon and saw a present screwed to the poor fellows tail. "What's that for?"
Spike turn to his tail. "It's a present for Moon Dancer." he said as he plucks the present out of his tail.
Twilight runs to the stack of books and starts digging through them. "Oh Spike you know we don't have time for that sort of thing." she stated.
"But we're on a break?" Spike protested.
Twilight uses her horn that glows light indigo, levitating the books from the shelves. "No, no, no." she said as she examines the covers and putting them aside. "No, no, NO! Ugh SPIKE!"
"It's over here." Spike said on top of the ladder at the top shelf with a book in his claws. The book started to glow causing it to fly and drag Spike to the floor in front of Twilight.
"Ah!" she said and takes the book from her assistant and trots to a reading stand. Leaving Spike to stand and pick up the books. "Elements, elements..." She scans the pages. "See "Mare of the Moon?"
""Mare of the Moon"" Spike said confusingly. "But that's just an old Pony's Tale."
Twilight got on another floor as she flip through the pages. "Mare, Mare, Aha!" she said as she stops at the page she was looking for. "The Mare of the Moon. A Myth of old Pony times, A powerful Pony who wanted to rule Equestria. Fought of against the Powerful human sorcerer "The Grey" see The Grey page 231. And was defeated by the Elements of Harmony, and sealed in the moon. But on the longest day of the thousand year, the stars will aid her escape and make the night to eternal." She then picked out the book and turns to page 231. "The Grey is the most powerful sorcerer, first to control Light and Darkness. Using this power, he vowed to protect Equestria. But in the final battle of the Eternal Night, Nightmare Moon cast a curse upon "The Grey," Making him immortal and to be swallowed by his dark powers. Spike do you know what this means?"
"No." he said as he struggles on the latter as he tries to put a book back into its shelf, until he lost his balance and began to fall, but he was saved by Twilight.
"Spike, take a note please." she said as she levitates a parchment and quale to her assistant.
"Okey dokie." Spike said and gets off and starts scribbling the parchment.
"Achoo!" The Human sneezes right next to a cake shop Called Sugarcube Corner. "Man I hope I don't get a cold." he said to himself as he enters the shop. He was now surprised to see all of the cakes of different size and shape. He looked at the cashier to see a or a very light blue coat mare with a swirl frosting main and tail.
"We're sorry but we're very busy please comeback tomorrow-" She looks up from the cash register and gasp with surprise. "Chris is that you?" said the shocked mare.
The Human named Chris smiles and nods. "The one and only Mrs. Cake, my you haven't aged one bit?"
Mrs. Cake giggles slightly. "Awe always a charmer." She then turns to the kitchen door. "Sweetheart, get out here, there's someone you should meet!"
"In a minute Honeybunch!" he said and came out the door. He was a tall yellow coated stallion wearing an apron and cooking hat. On his back looked to be a heavy looking cake and his legs wobble to hold on to it. He took another step but he trips, letting the cake to fall. Chris acted quickly and pulls out his staff from his pack. The cake and the stallion glow bright white, making them freeze in air. The stallion looks at his surrounding and sighs in relief. "Phew, thanks a bunch...Chris?"
Chris chuckles lightly, using his power to let the stallion on his Hooves and letting the Cake float and land on the table. "Good to see you too Mr. Cake."
Mr. Cake walks up to Chris and pats him on the shoulder. "It's been far too long Chris, I haven't seen you since our wedding," He then sighs at the memories.
"Sure has Mr. Cake," The Human sighs also. "So what's the word when I was gone?"
Mr. Cake chuckles proudly. "Well... I don't mean to brag but," he turns to Mrs. Cake who walks out of the counter, showing her bulging stomach.
Chris's eyes widened to see the sight. "Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cake!" he cheers for them.
Mr. Cake walk to Mrs. Cake's side. "Why thank you, two buns are in the oven and I can't wait for them to come out." she giggles happily.
Chris could only smile the sight of a lovingly family, he then remembers why he's here. "Oh, Mr. Cake I like to order a small chocolate heart cake."
Mr. Cake smiles and wants to the counter and places the small gift wrapped box next to the cash register. "A certain special somepony you like to see again?"
Chris smiles and digs his pocket for bits. "Yeah the only special somepony."
"No, no, this ones on the house since you saved my cake and head." Mr. Cake insisted.
The human smiles gently and takes the box. "Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Cake I'll be seeing you around soon."
Chris walks out of the shop and heads out to Sweet Apple Acres.
In the streets of Ponyville, a small orange little Pegasus filly zoom across the road on her scooter, wearing her safety helmet and her little wings helping her motorize with her scooter. She then zooms by Sweet Apple Acres and to the large house next door to Carrot Top and the Apple farm.
On the front porch of the large house is the Orange Pegasus mare laying on the swing bench with a book in front of her. "Mom I'm home!" The orange mare looks away from her book to see her little filly just zoomed up the road.
"Scootaloo?" said the mother and stood on the floor. "What are you doing out of school?"
Scootaloo slows down and parks her scooter, galloping to her mothers side and gave her a heart filled love. "The school let us out early because they wanted to help out the Summer Sun Celebration."
"Oh right." the mother understands now. "Come inside Scootaloo, time to get ready for tonight."
"Ok mom." Scootaloo responded and trots to the door.
"Wheela, Scootaloo?" said a mysterious voice. The two ponies turn to the road a human standing in front of them, just a few meters from the house.
The mother name Wheela and her daughter Scootaloo were shocked to see a being in front of their home. Tears began to form in their eyes. No...not fear or mortal terror. They're tears of joy.
"Dad/Chris?" Scootaloo's and Wheela's voice tremble a little.
"It's me..." Chris began to cry a little. "I'm home."
The two mares dash to the humans arms. Chris with all his might held the mares in his arms, they all cried in happiness. A family once again.
Chris cries as he hugs Wheela and Scootaloo in his arms, finally reunited with them. Within his travels he never forget about them. All he ever thinks about is finding his cure quick and be with his family.
Wheela was the first to pull away from the family hug and rubs her tears off with her front legs. But Scootaloo didn't let go. She held onto Chris's leg for her dear life. "Uh Scootaloo?" Chris said. "Think you can let go for a little bit?"
"No way." she said as her arms and legs didn't give. "I'm not letting you go again dad." she stated.
Chris smiles and pats her head. "Was I really gone for that long?"
Wheela couldn't help but giggle. "Three years, six months, twenty-five days, four hours, and forty-nine minutes."
"You kept count?" Chris raised his eyebrow.
"No, Scootaloo." Wheela sighs. "She counted everyday for your return, I couldn't blame her. I missed you too."
Chris drops his pack and walking stick and gently peels the little filly of his leg and held her to his eye level. "Is it true? Did you and mom miss me that much?"
Scootaloo nods really quickly. "Uh huh, I was afraid something bad happened to you, mom and I were worried sick about you."
"Well then?" Chris said, putting down Scootaloo and picking up his stuff. "How about I make it up to you and mom, that I'm not going anywhere...for a really long time."
Wheela and Scootaloo were shocked. Scootaloo couldn't hold in her joy and began bouncing around Chris. Wheela walks up to him. "R-really?" she whispers in disbelief.
Chris nodded and looks into her eyes. "Really, Oh that reminds me." he said and puts his walking stick down and digs his pocket to pull out a small present. "Compliments from the Cake family." he said giving it to Wheela.
Wheela opens it to see a small heart shaped chocolate cake. "Awe Chris, you really shouldn't have." she said with full of heart.
"That's to prove how much I care about you and Scootaloo." he said putting his walking stick on his other hand and lifting Scootaloo in his arm for her to ride on his shoulder. Wheela smiles and ate the heart, causing her to giggle with joy and happiness from the delicious sweet chocolate taste. She then stood on her hind legs and places her front hooves to his shoulders to balance herself and kisses his lips passionately, Chris didn't mind as he deepens the kiss.
"Enough of this mushy stuff, did you get me anything?" Scootaloo said impatiently while hugging his head.
Chris makes a hearty laugh. "Have you been good?" she nods. "Did you listen to your mother?" She nods again. "Alright, look in the small pocket in my pack." He said as he walks to the house with Wheela by his side.
Scootaloo dug in the pack to find a present the size of her head, the tag written. "To: Scootaloo." she quickly unwraps it to reveal a small blue suited Pegasus plushy with its mane and tail imitating like fire. "A Wonderbolt Spitfire plushy?" she took a closer look at the thigh to see a signature.
"Also autographed." Chris added.
Scootaloo squealed with joy. "I love it dad, thank you so much!" she hugs her fathers head again.
When they got into the house, the inside is big than the outside. stair cases, large kitchen, etc. Chris raises his pack and walking stick to the air as they glowed bright green and levitated. "To our room." he stated, causing the pack and stick to fly off. He then puts Scootaloo down. "Alright Scootaloo, get to your room and get ready, I was thinking we should head into town and help out the Cake family?"
"Got it dad." She said and gallops to her room.
Wheela smile faded and nuzzles to Chris's sealed left hand. "Have you found the cure you were looking for?"
Chris smile faded as well and shakes his head. "No, for a thousand years I still couldn't find a cure." he said as he brushes Wheela's mane with his sealed hand. "I'm starting to doubt there is a cure?"
"Don't say that." Wheela said as she pulled back and looks at him straight in the eyes. "The Chris I knew never doubted one bit." She then stood on her hind legs and wraps her front legs around his neck and nuzzles her head to his shoulder. "But what I do know is you never give up."
Those words pierced his heart, Chris and Wheela look into each others eyes and kiss each other passionately.
"Dear Twilight, my prize student." said Spike reading the letter to Twilight as they ride from the chariot being pulled by two royal Pegasus guards. "I know you have been worrying, but it's just a myth." Twilight turns away as she looks to the ground. "So I decided to send you off to supervise the Summer Sun Celebration in this location, Ponyville." Spike said as he could see a large town up ahead. "And, I have an important task for you to complete, Make some friends." but all he earned was a groan from Twilight. "Look on the bright side Twilight. The princess arrange for you to stay at the library, doesn't that make you happy?"
Twilight took a moment to think. "Yes, Yes it does." she said, Spike thought he had gotten through to her. "Because you know why because I'm always right." and the moment passes. "We'll check on the preparations as fast as we can, then go to the library and to find proof of Nightmare Moons return."
"Then when will you make friends?" Spike intervened. "Isn't that what the princess said?" he said as the chariot starts to land.
"She said to check on the preparations." Twilight pointed out. "I am her student, I will do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on making friends.
The chariot lands and lets Twilight and Spike to get off. Spike turns to Twilight. "Maybe the Ponies and Ponyville have interesting things to talk about?" he said seeing a pink Mare with cotton candy mane and tail trotting in her on own business. "Come on Twilight, just try?" he insisted as the mare stops in front of them.
Twilight gave it a shot. "Uh hello?" she said nervously. The pink mare gasps and zooms in a random direction in a blink of an eye. Twilight looked at the direction to see a tail of dust. "Well that was interesting alright." she said and walks away.
Spike sighs in disappointment and follows.
"Where do you want this Mr. Cake?" Chris said lifting a large cake by the tray.
Mr. Cake places down a plate full of cupcakes on a table. "Over by the red velvet cheese cake."
Chris places the cake where Mr. Cake said. "Phew. That's a lot of cake for a small town?" He said looking at the rows of about ten to twenty cakes on each table. "This could break a world record?"
Mr. Cake chuckles. "Well son, just wait till you meet Pinkie Pie." he said as he pulls out a small cake out of his back and places it on another table. "She has an appetite of a full grown dragon." Chris chuckles with Mr. Cake and continues putting the cakes away.
Wheela, Scootaloo and Mrs. Cake now cooking in the kitchen. Wheela took out a fresh batch of cookies, using her wings that are oven mitten. Scootaloo using her mouth to help Mrs. Cake decorate some cupcakes. "Thank you so much for helping us Wheela."
"It was nothing Mrs. Cake." Wheela said placing the try of cookies on a cooling rack. "You guys are practically family to us."
"Yeah," Scootaloo agrees before placing the frosting bag down. "Dad said there are only two of you, he thought you could use an extra hoof."
Mrs. Cake giggles and rolls the dough. "Isn't that right?" she said putting in small cookie dough balls in a tray and into the oven. "Your father is really sweet isn't he?" she jokes causing Scootaloo to giggle loudly.
Wheela laughs softly too, masking her worried face about Chris's curse that is spreading in his arm. Mrs. Cake stops what she was doing as she saw through her and walks Wheela and places her hoof on her shoulder. "Wheela, is everything alright?"
Wheela gotten back to reality and shakes her head. "Nothing Mrs. Cake, everything is alright." she lied and got back to work. Scootaloo looked worried about her mother, but she got back to decorating.
Mr. Cake and Chris started loading up the cart out front of the shop for tonight until a pink blur just burst from the door and slam into Chris, causing him to tumble to the floor as the cake he once had in his hand flied in the air and perfectly lands in the cart. A pink mare jumps on Chris's chest. "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh." she said hyped and sugar rushed. "There'sanewPonyintownandIdon'tknowwhathernameis,IneedtothrowherawelcometoPonyvillepartyrightaway." she then zooms and grabs a large bag full of party stuff out of who knows where and three trays of cupcakes and stuffed it in the bag. "I'llmeetyouguystonightintownhallbuhbye!" she said quickly and zooms out the shop.
Chris got up with a confuse face and looks at Mr. Cake. "What the heck was that?"
"That was Pinky Pie," Mr. Cake chuckles. "Believe it or not she works for us, but we decided to give her the day off."
Chris couldn't help but laughs as well. "I can see why."
Wheela, Scootaloo and Mrs. Cake got out of the kitchen with the fresh baked goods on their saddles. "Everything ready Honey?" said Mrs. Cake.
"All set dear." Mr. Cake said putting on the harnesses of the cart.
Scootaloo hops onto Chris's shoulders for a piggy back ride as Wheela walks besides him with a smile. Mrs. Cake got on the cart to rest herself due to her pregnancy. Chris pushes the cart for Mr. Cake to help move the heavy cart to Town Hall.
"SURPRIES!" shouted the Pinkie Pie as well almost half of Ponyville are now partying in the tree like library with Twilight and Spike both surprised. The Pink party pony walks up to Twilight and Spike. "Hi I'm Pinkie Pie, its really nice to meet you. Thought about throwing you a surprise party and I did!" Pinkie said very quickly in one breath. Twilight just tries to ignore her and as she pours herself a drink and starts drinking through a straw. "From the other Ponies here your name is Twilight right? Its really nice to meet you and I hope we could become great friends."
Twilight choked as she then turns red, "Hey is she alright?" Rainbow Dash said looking at Twilight. Twilight's hair began to burst into flames and runs upstairs.
Spike picked up the bottle Twilight drank from. "Hot sauce?" Spike read the label.
"Ooh." Pinkie Pies hoof tip the bottle and pours the sauce on a cupcake and ate it. The other Ponies were shocked she could eat it without a problem. "What their good?" she said in a mouth.
The Cake cart arrives at Town Hall with almost out of breath. Scootaloo hops off of Chris for him to breath heavily with Mr. Cake laying down for pulling the heavy cart full of cakes as well Mrs. Cake.
Wheela giggles. "Out of breath already honey?"
Chris chuckles as he got his posture straighten out. "I'm just out of shape after walking around the world is all."
Wheela smiles and gives him a kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you inside dear." she said as she uses her wings to pick up some trays of goodies with Scootaloo with a tray of cookies balanced on her head. Chris stretches his back and hefts a large cake and brings it inside.
An Earth Pony mare commanding orders to other ponies to put the food and beverages along with lights are put up. "Yes, yes, right over there," she said, "We need to make this perfect for Celestia's arrival."
Chris puts down the cake on the table where the stand is put up for the Cake family. He smiles at the decorations for the Summer Sun Celebration as he remembers this place being born from the beginning.
"Chris?" said the Earth Pony recognizing the human.
Chris turns to see the old mare. "Megan Mare?"
He receives a chuckle. "That's Mayor Mare to you young man?" Mayor Mare introduced reintroduced herself.
Chris smiles softly with a light chuckle. "Sorry mam, it's been so long since I've last seen you."
"It sure has been." she said. "I would like to speak with you more, but I must return to keep this building st-No, NO, not there over here!" she said and runs off.
Later tonight, all almost till sunrise, all of the Ponies gathered inside Town Hall for the arrival of Princess Celestia to raise the sun. Scootaloo, now on Chris's shoulders as she rests her head on top of his. Chris smiles with his eyes look up. "Are you sure your not tired?"
Scootaloo yawns as she wipes the sleep off her eyes. "No way, I'm not missing this with you dad." she said stubbornly before letting out another yawn.
Wheela flies above Chris and lands next to him with a smile. "She may be a Pony, but she has her stubbornness like her father." she informs him, earning a light chuckle.
A chorus of singing birds sang for the peoples attention, conducted by Fluttershy. A spotlight aluminates the stage to reveal Mayor Mare. "Fillies and Gentlecolts." She said giving out a speech. "As Mayor of Ponyville, I give great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration." Everyone in Ponyville cheers. "In just a few moments, our town will witness the sunrise and celebrate the longest day of the year." she said pointing at the yellow curtain that pictures an Alicorn with the sun.
Chris let out a smile before looking out the window to see four stars circling the moon. Wheela found her husband feeling troubled. "Is something wrong?" she said in concern.
"Yeah." he said seriously. "Trouble."
"And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, giving us the Sun and the Moon for each and everyday," Mayor Mare continues. "I give you the good, the wise, the bringer of Harmony to all of Equestria....Princess Celestia!"
The curtains open up on the upper levels was Rarity who stands to introduce the princess. But she was gone? Everypony began whispering in almost panic.
"Remain calm everypony." Mayor Mare said trying to calm her citizens. "There must be an explanation for this?" she said as she was confuse too.
"She's gone!" shouted Rarity.
Suddenly a dark blue mist appears up on the upper levels, the mist turns to solid to form a pitch black Alicorn with silver armor.
"Nightmare Moon." Chris growls curling his sealed fist.
"Oh my beloved subjects." Nightmare Moon said looking at the crowd. "It's been so long since I've seen your sun loving faces." she said as almost everypony began to shiver in fear.
Chris pulls Scootaloo out of his shoulders and hands her to Wheela. "Take care of her." He said as he passes through the crowd.
"What did you do to our princess?" Rainbow Dash said angrily before about to charge in, but was held back by Applejack.
"Woah there nelly." She said holding her tail by her mouth.
Nightmare Moon laughs evilly. "Why? Am I not royal enough for you don't you know who I am?"
"Oh oh, I love guessing games." Pinkie said playfully. "How about Hoky smokes, how about queen meanie, oh oh black snooty, black snooty!" but she was stopped when the orange mare stuffs an apple in Pinkies mouth.
"Does my crown no longer count?" she leans towards the light yellow pink haired Pegasus. "For I've been imprison for a thousand years?" she then goes towards. "Did you not recall the Legend? did you not see the signs?"
"I did." shouted Twilight, grabbing Nightmare Moons attention. "I know who you are. Your the Mare of the Moon. Nightmare Moon."
Everypony gasps as they remember now. "Well, well, well.I guess somepony did remember me." Nightmare Moon said impressively. "Then you know why I'm here."
"Your here to...to...to." Twilight then began to feel fear.
Nightmare Moon laughs evilly, but was interrupted by white and black magical chains wrapping Nightmare Moon. "Who dares assault your ruler." she said as she struggles. A glow of white and purple magic came in front of the audience is a human with a staff. "Ah if it isn't The Grey, the most powerful sorcerer in Equestria. Tell me, how was walking the lands as the last human for the last thousand years."
Twilight was shocked to see the Grey up in person, and in Ponyville?
Chris mood turn to anger. "I've been around trying to undo what you had done to me." he said showing her his sealed left arm glowing dark purple due to using his power.
"Oh yes, the curse I've given you." Nightmare Moon laughs evilly as the chains began to shatter. "But with those many seals you have now, your power is now diminished to half of what you really can do." she said as she spreads her wings, breaking the chains with a dark shock wave blasts the room, forcing Chris to slam the end of his staff to the ground to create a white shield to block the shock wave. The attack stopped at the same time the shield breaks, causing Chris to kneel on one leg to struggle to get up. "Remember this day little Ponies for it is your last, on this day forth," she said flapping her wings. "NIGHT. WILL LAST FOREVER!" laughs evilly as her mist hair swirl up the ceiling creating lighting bolts. That Night, has brought terror to Equestria, once again.
Wheela's wings extended, blades made of magical light had form besides her and charges at Nightmare Moon.
Chris laid Lifeless on the ground in front of the six mares. A shadow broad sword embedded through his chest. "CHRIS!" was all he could hear from his crying wife.

Chris stood in front of the large door made of bones from all kinds of creatures that hailed from Equestria. A dark figure appeared behind him, he wore a dark tattered cloak the hood shadows his face and a large scythe is held in his left hand. "Hello Death"
Nightmare Moon laughs evilly as her misty mane swirls over the ceiling of Town Hall, lightning bolts form and strikes near the Audience. Chris the Grey forms a white light shield to stop the lightning from harming anypony.
"Cease her!" Mayor Mare orders as three Pegasus Royal Guards fly towards her. "Only she knows where the Princess is!"
"Stand back you fools!" Nightmare Moon's eyes blow green, commanding the lighting to strike the Royal Guards, blasting them back against the wall. She the turns into a black smoke form and escapes through the doors.
Rainbow Dash now release from her Applejack and dashes of after her and stops a few meters away from Town Hall. Then she realizes when she looks at the night. "The night forever?" she said to herself when she then sees Twilight with a sleeping Spike on her back, running off the library. "Where's she going?" she follows quietly.
Chris drops his barrier and kneels down as he breaths heavily. "Boy am I getting old." he said as he gets up.
Mayor Mare gallops to him. "Are you alright?" she said in concern.
Chris shakes his head. "No, not while Nightmare Moon is roaming the lands," he said looking at the open doors, "Get everypony back to their homes and stay indoors." Mayor Mare nods and gets to the stage.
Wheela with Scootaloo half-asleep on her back walks up to her husband. "What are we going to do?"
"We're going home." Chris said as he taps his staff on the ground, and in a bright white light, they appear in Scootaloo's room, back in their home.
"But what about (Yawn) Nightmare Moon?" Scootaloo yawns as she tries to stay awake.
Chris shakes his head and picks Scootaloo up from Wheela's back and places the little filly in her bed. "Don't worry little one, just let the grown ups take care of her." he said softly before kissing her forehead.
"But I want to help" she said with her front hooves hug her Spitfire WonderBolt plushy.
"No can do Scootaloo, We can't have our little Wonderbolt sleeping in battle." Wheela said after kissing her daughters forehead as well. Scootaloo tries to stay awake but now succumbs to sleep and snores quietly. The mare and human tip toe out the door, making sure their little one isn't disturbed.
Wheela walks down the hall and stops to wait for Chris. "Do you think you can handle Nightmare Moon?"
Chris closes the door quietly as he looks to his wife. "No, not alone." he said honestly as he looks at his sealed hand.
Wheela walks up to him and places her hoof to his hand. "Then I'm coming with you." Chris was about to protest but was silence. "Don't think your getting off easily, just because I'm a mother." her wings began to glow bright yellow. "That doesn't mean my skills haven't faded."
Chris smiles and kisses his wife's lips. "I knew there's a reason I married you."
Wheela giggles and deepens the kiss and leans to his ear. "Better suit up dear, the sooner we stop Nightmare Moon," her voice began to turn haughtily, "the sooner we have our night." she lets him off and sways her hips as she walks to the armory, causing the Grey mage to blush madly like an apple and follows her.
-Earlier-
Spike was dropped on his little bed with his eyes half asleep. "But we need to stop Nightmare..." He then stops when he's now fast asleep and a blanket is loped on him.
"Sorry Spike." Twilight apologizes to her assistant. "But you are a baby dragon after all." she said and walks out the door of their room before turning out the lights. The Lavender Unicorn use her magic to levitate the books. "Elements, elements, elements." she said as she threw a book on after another. "Ugh, how can I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?" she said before she was face to face with a cyan Pegasus.
"And just what are the Elements of Harmony?" Rainbow Dash interrogates Twilight. "And how do you know about Nightmare Moon huh? Are you a spy?" but she was interrupted by Applejack who pulls her tail.
"Simmer down Sally she ain't no spy." said the orange mare with Pinky Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy walk in behind her. "But she sure know what's going on. Don't you Twilight?" she said as the mares' eyes turn to Twilight.
Twilight thought for a moment and sighs. "I've read all of the predictions of Nightmare Moon, some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop her." she said as she looks up to her window looking at the moon. "But I don't know what they are, where to find them, I don't even know what they do?"
"Elements of Harmony, a Reference guide." said Pinkie reading a book cover's spine from a book shelf.
Twilight pushes Pinkie aside and looks at the book. "How did you find that?" she said in disbelief.
"It was under EEEEEeeeeeee." Pinkie sings as she bounces around.
"Oh." Twilight said in an flat tone. She then uses her magic to lift the book and opens as she flips through the pages. "There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are known. Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty, the Sixth is a complete mystery." she then pauses as they are unknown about a black mist sneaking outside of the window. Twilight looked closer to the book and her eyes widened.
"Well?" Rarity now in eager. "Don't keep us in suspense, what else does it say?"
Twilight turns to her new friends. "That's just it, there's nothing in here about the location of the Elements." she said looking closer to her book. "It said the Grey was the only one entrusted to safeguard the Elements of Harmony, that way, no Pony will hold such power, not even Princess Celestia herself after sealing her sister to the moon."
"They Grey?" The five local Pony's pondered for a moment but then they all remembered. "CHRIS!" they all dashed out the door.
"Wait, WHAT!?" Twilight follows them, She finally catches up to their pace next to Rarity. "You know the Grey?"
"Well, he's more of neighbor then the Grey darling," the gentle mare said as the six headed down the road. But unknown to them, they were being followed by a night like mist.
Chris had put on his silver and black armor. The silver armor only covers is right shin to boot, his right forearm now guarded and over his chest plate. The black armor is equipped on his left shoulder and all the way down to his cursed hand. The seals began to glow orange lines, making him grunt in pain when the armor began to merge into his skin as his finger tips pointed sharp claws. He gasps I air from the pain and calms down to feel a hoof on his shoulder.
He turns to his wife Wheela to see her in golden armor similar to the royal guards. Her front legs are plated with blue gems attached to her knee guards, and her purple mane let loose through her helmet. "It's getting stronger...isn't it?"
Chris didn't respond, but he places his real hand to the side of her face. "Yes, but as long as you and Scootaloo are with me." he takes her hoof off his shoulder by his cursed arm and places it to his heart. "I'm not letting it take me away from both of you."
Those words pierce into Wheela's heart, the two lovers both lose each other and they kiss passionately. But loud knocking is heard. "Who could that be at this hour?" Wheela flies of out of her husbands arms and to the front door. She opens to see Six ponies standing in front of her. "Oh hi girls, sorry, you kind of came here at a bad time, so-?"
The Lavender Pony stepped forward. "Look mam, we're here to see the Grey, time is at the essence before Nightmare Moon takes over the land."
"Wheela, who's at the door?" Chris said loudly when he came into their view as he was strapping on a metallic like silver leathered book, chained at the spine of the book as it loops over his shoulder like he has a shoulder bag.
"Just some girls, one of them I think is be your fan ?" Wheela said stepping aside for them to come in.
Pinkie began to hop in joy. "Oh I can't believe you just got back and I forgot about to through you a party saying "Welcome Back Chris." party, *gasp* I just realize I just saw you at the cake shop and I was so busy throwing Twilight a party." The pink bubbly pony said fast.
The lavender Pony steps forward and stares at the human. "Powerful Grey." she said in posture and kneels. "I am Twilight Sparkle, I am in need of you to lend me the Elements of Harmony, so that we can stop Nightmare Moon."
Chris raises his eyebrow and looks at the other mares. "Um...she's not from here around here is she?" they mares shake their heads to confirm his answer. He looks down upon Twilight. "Look Twilight, if your here for the Elements, there not here."
Twilight looks up in shock. "What?" she said in disbelief. "But I don't understand. The book said you were the one to hold Elements."
"I do." The ancient wizard said. "But it's not in this house, you think I have something that powerful in my house? No thank you." he said as the rest of the mares walk in.
Fluttershy stepped forward shyly as she look down to her hooves. "Um...sir...can you at least tell us where it is?" she squeaked a little at the end. "It's ok for you not to tell us."
Wheela and Chris looked away from the mares to each other and back at them. Chris scratches his chin as he ponders.
Rainbow Dash rolls her eyes with annoyance. "Shy, I don't think this guy is just going to show us th-"
"Alright, I'll tell you where it is." Chris said cheerfully, causing the cyan Pony to drop her jaw.
"Just like that?" Rarity said in shock as well.
"Yep" the immortal said as a staff levitates to his open hand. "And I know a short cut." he tapped the end of his staff on the floor. "To the Everfree Forest." A white circle traced below them. In a flash they all teleported at the entrance of the dark woods of the Everfree. The door magically closed, leaving the house for Scootaloo' safety. The mist was watching them the whole time and flies off the dark forest.
The mares (minus Wheela) jumped to find themselves in front of. "The Everfree Forest?" they said in unison. Futtershy shivers and jumps behind Rainbow Dash for protection.
Rainbow looks at the immortal with a bit of anger. "What's going on here, I thought you said you're going to take us to the Elements."
"I did" Chris said as he points his staff at the entrance. "It's in the Everfree Forest."
"You mean in that dark and dirty place?" Rarity said as she shudders.
Chris nods to confirm their answer. "That's right." he said. "In there, you must seek out the Ancient Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters, where the Elements are held."
Twilight looks up to him in confusion. "But Chris, the Everfree is a forbidden forest, nopony has ever set hoof in there."
He kneels to her and looks dead in her eyes. "Twilight, there are times that you have to trust me." he then looks at the other five mares. "Just as you have to trust them."
Wheela looks up at the sky to see a glimps of the mist coming in their direction. "She's coming." she said seriously and extended her wings.
The immortal gets up. "You better hurry girls, we'll hold her off as long as possible," he said as the head of his staff glows bright white, shooting a beam at the mist and knocking it down. "Follow the signs, trust in each other." he said before he raised his dark arm, orange fireball like missiles are launched at where Nightmare Moon had crashed.
The six mares look at each other. "No point on getting in a cross fire, let's go girls." Applejack said, they didn't argue and the six entered the mysterious dark forest while the sounds of the explosions and destruction fade.
The Everfree Forest. No Pony has ever set hoof in it cause of the many dangers and the unnatural stir fear into the hearts of almost any living beings. Hearing hoof steps in the forest, six mares ran through the roads as their legs can carry them. Twilight trying to ponder on what Chris had said.
"Trust in each other, follow the signs?" Said the lavender pony. "What does he mean by that?"
Applejack looking afraid as she looks at the dark forest trees. "Ah don't know Twi'," she said a little frightened. "But this forest is just ain't natural. Folks say this place doesn't work like Equestria does."
"What's that suppose to mean?" Rarity starting to frighten. An orange light began to glow on the cliff side where they stand.
"No Pony knows," Rainbow Dash said in a spooky tune as she floats from the shadows. Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie began to look afraid as the back away from Rainbow Dash. "Do you know why?"
"Rainbow Dash!" Applejack protests.
"Because anypony enters the EverFree Forest." the speed mare took a pause for suspense. "No Pony ever comes...OUT!"
The ground beneath their hooves began to shake and crumble. Causing a rock slide and the Ponies to fall and slide on the cliff side. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were the only ones who fly and watch their friends fall and slide.
"Fluttershy quick!" Rainbow dives for Pinkie Pie.
"Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness." Fluttershy dove down and grabbed Rarity.
Applejack and Twilight continued to slide down as the edge began to come closer to them. The cowmare uses her muzzle to grab on a root. Twilight was unfortunate grasped onto a ledge for her dear life. Applejack looks down and lets go of the root and slides down slowly. "Hold on, I'm coming."
Twilight struggles as she tries to use her rear hooves to grasp ground. She looks up to find Applejack to stand in front of her, using her front hooves to try to pull her up. "Applejack, what do I do?" she desperately needs help from the cowmare.
Applejack grits her teeth as she pulls Twilight up. She opens one of her eyes to look up and then look at Twilight. "Let go." she said in a serious tone.
"What!" The lavender mare in shock. "Are you nuts!?" she said in disbelief.
"Twilight, just let go, Trust me." Applejack looked into Twilight's eyes, showing her to trust her.
Twilight didn't argue anymore and lets go. As she falls, she closes her eyes to not see it coming...though it was taking a long time for her to crash to the ground. She opens her eyes to see Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy holding on to her as they descend to the ground. She let out sigh of relief. "Thanks gir-whoop!" she let out a jolt of freight when they descend a little too quickly but got back their flight levels.
"Sorry." Fluttershy apologizes. "I can only care more than a bunny." she admits with little embarrassment.
The immortal and his Pony wife stood their ground as they watch the smoke cleared at where Nightmare Moon stands. The dark Alicorn didn't seem to be fazed by the attack as she lets out a light chuckle. "My, my. You humans are always full of surprises as I remember." she said as she steps out of her little crater and stares at his cursed arm. "But you're still handicapped, this I will savor ending your pitiful immortal life."
Before she could step forward, a blur of orange shot at Nightmare Moon, causing the dark mare to be blasted back. The orange blur bounces off on impact and lands next to Chris. The orange light fade to reveal Wheela, taking her stance to battle. "If you want him, your going to have to go through me first." her wings bright light.
Nightmare Moon got up and snorts. "And who are you little insect, here to fight his battles?" she growls at her attacker. She then looks down to her left hoof to see a wedding band, and looks up to Chris's right hand's ring finger which also is a wedding band. "A married couple? Good, I'm going to enjoy hearing you scream in pain as the immortal fool will watch you suffer." Her eyes glow bright green and lighting bolts fly at them.
Chris swung his staff with ease, deflecting the lighting bolts with an invisible force. The dark mare's eyes widen. "First off, you will never lay a hoof on my wife." he said as he balled his cursed hand to a fist causing dark orange flames to flick between his fingers. "And second, I'm capable to fight my share of warfare." He opens the flaming palm and slaps down on the ground. Beneath Nightmare Moon, she looks down and fire exploded like a volcano, shooting her up to the skies.
The immortal turns to Wheela and nods. She smiles and takes to the sky with her wings are bright with orange light, a mirage of two swords appear and swoops pass Nightmare Moon to deliver a blow. Nightmare Moon wasn't wounded, but felt the impact and spun a bit. The dark Alicorn growls "You little insect," her eyes glowed green again, dark lightning bolts are sent ablaze at the Pegasus.
Wheela flies quickly as the lighting missed her by a hair line and dodges another lighting. Though Nightmare Moon didn't pay attention to the Grey. A white beam of light shot out and hit the dark Alicorn. She yelped in pain as she flies back and looks down. Chris opens his book with his left hand as a white light is released. He looks up to Nightmare Moon and seven beams of light shot out and flied towards her.
"Ignorant fools." she took evasive action and flies off as the seven beams followed her like missiles. She looks back and turns around and flaps her wings to release a misty shadow, swallowing the beams of light. She laughs and her shadowy mists swirls and the beams of light were turned to darkness, turning his own attacks against both of them.
"Wheela, get behind me!" Chris warns his wife as she flies down and gets behind him on ground level. He lift his sealed hand and each dark beam is swallowed in his palm. He grunts as the last beam is swallowed and looks up to Nightmare Moon. The sealed arm began to pulse with a dark orange aura around his left side. Dark markings began to creep up his left side of the neck to his left cheek.
"Chris?" Wheela saw the markings as she is worried for him, She could tell the outcome may not be very...unpleasant for her husband. She began to hear Nightmare Moon's laugh with satisfaction.
"The curse is taking it's toll on you already?" The dark mare smiles at the Grey. "Already a thousand years and the limits of your seals have already diminished."
Chris cracks his neck to loosen the joints, to hear bones popping it's joints. He began to glow of white and black and his body glows, his body started to levitate and shot up to the air. Wheela follows as they level to Nightmare Moon. "We will stop you Nightmare, even if I have to turn my self into the very monster I will become." he said as his left palm began to glow from dark orange to a dark red flame. Wheela's wings glows as her phantom blades glow again and charges at Nightmare Moon. The dark mare laughs as eyes glow green with dark green lightning surrounds her body and charges at the Greys. They began to clash into each other. The powers of light and darkness shower into the sky.
The six mares continue running through the forest. That is until they heard a mighty roar up the road. They all look at to see a very large lion with large bat wings and a scorpion tail, roars with anger and charges at them.
The manticore was about to attack, but something got on it's back and let out a "Yee-Ha!" It was Applejack. The manticore growls and began try to thrash around, that is until he finally got Applejack off of it, sending her flying back to her firends. "All yours." she said to Rainbow Dash as she flown by.
"Wait!"
"Bring it on!" Rainbow dives at the beast as she flies round the manticore, fast enough to surround it in a tornado. But with on sweep of it's scorpion tail. It swatted Rainbow Dash away like it was nothing and was slammed back to the group.
"Wait." Fluttershy tries to protest to them, but she was so quiet to work up the nerve.
Twilight snorts and the rest of them charge at the manticore, as the beast charges head on at the mares. Something inside of Fluttershy just burst out and flies between the mares and manticore. "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!" Fluttershy shouts out loud, causing everyone stop at their tracks. Fluttershy turns to the manticore with her eyes looking at it as she shows she means no harm. "What's wrong?" The manticore looked like in pain and shows her its palm to have a splintering thorn. The other mares, including Twilight saw it. "I see, now don't worry, let me take care of that." She uses her muzzle to grab the thorn and plucks it out.
The manticore roars with its paw raised and to strike at the gentle soul. "FLUTTERSHY!" her friends tried to warn her. Though they didn't expect for it to be so...gentle? The manticore didn't harm Fluttershy as it licks her with affection.
Rarity got out of her shock and awe and nods her friends to pass by the power housed beast. As they do, the manticore puts Fluttershy down, letting her walk with her friends. "How did you know?" Twilight tries to understand.
"I didn't," Fluttershy answers with a smile. "It just takes a little kindness."
The manticore and the thorn disappeared in a yellow light when the mares left out of sight.
In the night sky, two lights, one orange and one grey shot out like shooting stars, attacking a dark violet light shooting star. The light collide and the two lights of good withdrew and attack Nightmare Moon again. Chris grunts as his left cursed arm began to grow even more, spikes began to spawn from his shoulder after his fist is engulfed with dark purple flames and charges at Nightmare Moon.
"Come at me!" Nightmare Moon taunts him with her horn glowing with dark green lightning and charges head on at him.
Wheela flew away to get clear from the blast from the powerful attacks, she chose right. The attacks collide, creating a large shockwave in the air, but it didn't reach far as it made it's way to the entrance of the Everfree Forest. The Orange mare, wife of The Grey shook of the branches and flies next to Chris. She gasp to see the condition he is in now. "Chris?"
"I'm alright," Chris denies it and looks up to Nightmare Moon.
The Mares ran through a dark Forest, they heard a bang and they felt shaken from the shock wave. "What was that?" Rarity now scared as she looks around.
"It must be the battle." Rainbow dash said looking up as she floats near the group. "They must be getting closer...or losing." she felt worried.
"Then we better hurry." Twilight said and moves forward.
Fluttershy quivers as she looks a the dark forest as she passes by them. "This t-trees look s-scary." she said timid at the trees.
The forest does to be more spookier than before, the trees are dark as they look like mouths with teeth, Dark red lights are shown to have horrid faces, causing Futtershy to hid behind Applejack.
One by one, tree by tree, reveals a horrid face that is shown to eat the ponies. The mares scream and panic as they coward to each other for support. Only one certain cotton candy bubble gum furred mare giggles and laughs from the terrifying trees.
"Pinkie!" Applejack yells at her. "This isn't the time to laugh!?"
When I was a little filly and the sun was going down... Pinkie Pie started to sing
Twilight looks at Pinkie. "Tell me she's not...
The darknes and the shadows, they would always make me frown...
"She is." Rarity answers Twilights answer.
She sees Chris levitating up to the skies to her level and Wheela ascends next to her husband, their armor rented with cuts all over their bodies. Chris wasn't looking too good as black scales spread across his half of his body, a horn grew on the left side of his head as his left eye glows dark read.
"Do you two think you can take me on?" she looks at them...her eyes widened. "Unless, a distraction?" she turns to the direction of the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters. "The old castle? Well, I'm impress with you two, too bad this will be your last moments together in the eternal night." She flies off to the old castle.
"We need to stop her!" Wheela said as her wings glow again, but this time, her light swords look blunt and chipped as she flies after her with Chris behind her, the seal began to weaken, but he ignores it as he tries to stop her.
"Mustache."
"Mostache."
"Mustache."
"Mostache."
Chris raises his strange claw form his sealed hand and slams down on Nightmare Moon to the ground to try to hold. Wheela dives down as the light swords pointed down upon the dark Alicorn.
"ENOUGH!" she release a massive energy, for them the heroes to be pushed away from the energy. Wheela was grasped by her throat by the misty mane. "You have been a thorn on my back side long enough, though I'll admit." she leans to her ear. "You dear, Husband is attractive," she pulls away, Wheela struggles free. "When he turns to his full dark potential, the mighty Grey, shall be my Dark Night."
"N-never!" Wheela struggles, her wings desperate with the light swords trying to strike at her.
Nightmare only lets out a chuckle. Her horn glows to reveal a replica of Wheela's light blades. "This ability of yours is quite interesting," The light sword changed to dark purple, solidifying into a broadsword. "I would love to pass this on to my child."
"Let go of my WIFE!" Chris roars in a demonic voice, and shot out to Nightmare Moon with his large arm. But he didn't realize they were heading towards to the ancient Castle. They wrestle each other as Wheela join in the fight.
"No" Rainbow Dash said to the false WonderBolts. "I'm going to help my friends," the three false Wonderbolts looked at her in shock. "Take your offer and BUCK OFF!"
The false WonderBolts vanished into black smoke. Rainbow Dash snorts and turns around and grabs the snapped rob from the broken bridge and ties it up. "Alright girls, I got the bridge fixed."
The ponies crossed the bridge and look at Rainbow Dash. "What happened?" Applejack said to the Cyan pony.
"Nothing." Rainbow Dash said. "Nothing happened at all."
The mares shrugged off the thought and head off to the ancient Castle. The mares stayed together so they can keep each other safe. The deeper they enter, the more suspense it became for them.
The six Ponies have entered the main room to find a tall altar made of stone. On top of the tip, are five stones attached to the alter. "This is it, the Elements, of Harmony?"
Pinkie counted the elements. "Two, Three, Four." she gasped. "There's only five of them?"
"Where's the sixth?" Rarity wonders.
Twilight steps closer to the Elements. "It said, that the five elements can bring in the sixth."
Crash!
The six mares look up to see the wall burst and crash to the altar, the five balls of stone fall. Rarity and Twilight acted quickly, grabbing them with their magic with the help of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy to grab them in the air to slow the fall.
They gently put the Elements down on the ground and turn to the altar as the smoke began to clear. Wheela was thrown from the smoke and lands next to the Elements, Nightmare Moon stood tall with victory, and down beneath her hoof as Chris, the Immortal Grey, laying there lifeless as a dark broadsword is embedded through his chest and through the ground.
"At last," Nightmare Moon laughs in victorious. "The mighty Grey has Fallen."
Chris turns his head to Wheela, seeing his eyes began to see light, the dark curses began to sink back to his left arm, that there is no use while there is no living host. Wheela looked at him in horror, her husband killed in front of her eyes, her eyes began to water and tears fallen, letting out a cry. "CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!"
