> Bloodlust > by Scarlett_Lilac > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A lone bat flew casually through the night sky, it had gotten separated from the other bats it usually flew with and was completely on it's own. It was unaware of its surroundings, it was lost. With no sense of where it was going the bat just kept flying on, hoping to eventually find something. Like a village of ponies, as it was so hungry. The bat hadn't fed on anything in hours and was desperate for food. No matter how far the bat went it couldn't see any signs of life at all. But it didn't have many other options, the bat took a turn a decided to take shelter in a cave as rain started to fall making it difficult to fly. Once inside the cave, the bat could see a lake a little further in from the entrance. It headed over to the lake and landed on the floor, as the bat stood infront of this lake, it could clearly see that it wasn't a lake. It was glowing. The bat stuck a wing through the portal and it disappeared, as if there was more beyond this strange glowing lake. Or more like, a portal? The bat threw itself in. It grew very dizzy, and when the dizziness seized the bat found itself infront of a large building, having just come out from what looked like a mirror, with a large horse statue on top of it. Confused, the bat took to the sky again as there was no rain in this... new world? The bat soared through the dark night. On the hunt for a lone victim, to drain as much blood from their necks at possible. The remarkably ugly bat was hungry, no, starving. it hadn't drank from anyone in ages, it was beginning to feel exhausted from its lack of blood. It had just reached civilisation, but when lurking and waiting for its next meal, it grew confused. These creatures weren't the usual ponies it fed from. These things were much different, they only walked on 2 hind legs, they were much larger than ponies and had no hooves, but something different the bat couldn't name. Not even to mention none of them had any standard pony ears, no tails, no horns, no wings, nothing a pony would have. The bat elected to ponder on it later, and feed now, as it's hunger grew ever so more unbearable. Sunset waved goodbye to her friends and drove off down to road on her motorbike, travelling towards her apartment. She began to think some, peculiar not exactly platonic thoughts about one of her friends, again. Sunset had been getting these thoughts about her beloved friend a lot lately. The quite randomly timed thoughts, or even fantasies, mostly contained the idea of them in intimate situations or just being together in a real relationship. Well of course she had some, other, thoughts along the same lines too, but a bit more graphic. And the subject of all these weird fantasies of Sunsets, was none other than Twilight Sparkle. She was just so adorable, impossibly cute and Sunset just couldn't ignore it. Before Sunset knew it she'd already arrived home. Her apartment was relatively small, but nice, clean and most importantly cozy. She made her way in and up the stairs, the usual dog barking at her through the window as she walked past it. She finally made it to her apartment and messed around with her keys to find the right one and unlock the door. It had already fallen dark due to the rainbooms staying later at school to practice, increasing the difficulty of her current task. She eventually got the right key quite quick, then Sunset felt a sharp pain in her neck, it wasn't a large amount of pain that she felt but definitely a shock to her. She yelped from the surprise and spun around immediately to be face to face with a bat, an ugly one at that. Sunset covered her neck with her hand and used her other hand to swat her bag at the hideous creature. Successfully hitting it a few times. The thing made a horrendous hiss sound, like a cat would make and quickly fled. Sunset groaned from the pain and made her way inside incase that bat came back for seconds. Once she entered and locked her door she quickly went to the apartment kitchen to grab some tissues. Sunset wetted the tissues and pressed them to her neck, on the area the bat bit her. After a moment she took it away and it had 2 circle shaped blood stains on it, she pressed it back to her neck for a few minutes. Once the bleeding finally stopped she took away the tissue and threw it out. Sunset strolled over to her mirror to inspect the cuts left. And there was two small hole wounds beside each other on her neck. "Celestia, what type of bat even was that." She mumbled to herself, "I've never seen it in any of my books or never even heard of it. Only thing I know is that I don't wanna see that thing again." Sunset sighed and left to her room, she searched through her closet for something to wear to bed. It was a warm enough night so she just opted for a t-shirt and shorts. After dressing herself in her chosen pajamas, Sunset slipped into her bed and began to relax. She grabbed her phone to set her alarm to wake her for school tomorrow. She put her phone down on her nightstand beside her bed and turned off her lamp, positioned on the corner of said nightstand. Sunset's eyes closed and shortly after she turned over and drifted off to sleep. Sunset awoke to the wretched sound of her beeping alarm. She groaned in annoyance and rolled over to relieve herself of the noise. Reluctantly Sunset sat up and got out of her warm, comfortable bed. She did a long stretch and went to gather things to take a quick shower. While doing so she remembered the events of last night. Sunset moved over to infront of the mirror to see what that cut would look like, whether it was bad or not. But what Sunset saw was just left her in confusion and with some questions. There was nothing there. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "What?" Sunset asked nobody blankly. The reality not yet catching up to her. Slowly her face twisted into a shock and she stared at her neck in disbelief, she took her hand away from her neck and hung it by her side. "It's fine, maybe I just had a way too realistic dream." Sunset took a deep breath and composed herself again. She left her mirrors view and left to the bathroom. Sunset set up her towel on her towel rack, turned on the shower and got under the water. Sunset emerged from the shower, grabbing her towel and beginning to dry herself off. The shower was so relaxing Sunset barely forced herself to get out in a good time for school. The hot water on her skin was just so soothing for some odd reason. But she had to continue getting ready, as unfortunately, she had school today. Sunset left to the living room, picking up the hair dryer she had left out from yesterday and began drying her hair. Once Sunset was completely ready and dressed she collected all the items and books she needed for today and headed outside then down the stairs to her motorbike. She secured her bag, put on her helmet then started the bike. Before leaving she checked her phone for the time. "Oh shit." She yelped, realising she only had 10 minutes before school. Sunset sped off and away to school, rushing to make it on time. Finally Sunset arrived with 2 minutes to spare. She saw her friends sitting beside the statue, but missing one of her dear friends, or... no just one of her friends. Twilight. "Oh about time." She could hear Rainbow say sarcastically. With the comment all of her friends turned to look at her, giving their hellos. "Yeah sorry, I didn't realise the time." Sunset said rubbing her neck with an awkward smile. "You were definitely cutting it rather close Darling." Rarity said. "Okay I get it I'm sorry, but where's Twilight?" She asked. "Oooooh someone's worried. Have you got a little crush Sunny?" Pinkie teased. Sunset's cheecks turned red as she blushed, hard. "Aww Pinkie don't tease her, even though we kinda know already." AJ winked. "But she went on in, you know her, she likes to be on time for class." "Umm, speaking of being on time, we're all a little late now." Fluttershy whispered, barely audible by normal human ears. "Ah fuck I rushed here just to avoid this." Sunset groaned. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Pinkie half yelled running into the building and down to her class. "She is one crazy girl." AJ said as everyone soon followed behind. "Hey Twilight." Sunset smiled, glad to see her just friend for the first time today. Twilight jumped, surprised, as she was previously sitting alone waiting for everyone else to arrive with their lunch, althought Sunset didn't quite have an appetite so she chose to not eat anything. "Oh hi Sunset." Twilight said, as she returned the smile getting over her initial scare. Sunset sat down beside Twilight making some basic small talk to pass the time. There was a moment where they went silent for a second and Sunset felt her eyes drifting down slightly. Down to Twilight's lips, Twilight was doing the same as they both froze in the moment. Suddenly Pinkie slammed her tray of food down on the table quite loudly. The pair jumped, Twilight for the second time. Pinkie sat down closely followed by the rest of their group. They all sat in silence, able to tell something was going on. "Okay what happened here? The air is so tense you couldn't even cut through it." AJ asked. "Pinkie did you interrupt them about to kiss or something?" Rainbow asked quite boldly. "Dash! No we weren't about to... kiss or anything, where'd you even get that idea." Sunset mumbled defensively out of embarrassment. "Is that a real question?" Rainbow asked with an unamused expression. They both went silent, blushes very distinct on their faces. The only break of silence was Pinkie and Rainbow's snickering. "You guys are so obviously in lo-" "Okay we can change the subject now!" Twilight shouted, a rare occurance for her. The topic quickly changed and normal conversation between the friend group began again. But Sunset and Twilight remained mostly silent, glancing at each other periodically and regaining their blushed everytime they made eye contact. But still never looking away completely. Finally, school was over and it was time to go home. Sunset let out a sigh of relief leaving the school's front doors. She reached the parking lot and was met with Twilight. Oh, she had completely forgot she asked Twilight to watch a movie with her today. "Oh hey Twilight, good to see you." Sunset said with her usual tone as if the events at lunch had never happened. "Hey Sunset, um, do we have to go on your motorbike? Can we not just walk or something?" Twilight asked, clearly scared of riding on it. "Well yeah, a bit far to walk. Don't worry though, just hold on to me." Sunset hopped on the bike, "Come on, it'll be fine. And here take my helmet." Twilight nodded, put on the helmet and got on the bike hesitantly, "Just hold your arms around my waist." Twilight blushed slightly as she obeyed, wrapping her arms around Sunset. Sunset started the bike and took off, Twilight shrieked and grabbed tighter around Sunset's waist. Now it was Sunset's turn to blush. Finally they arrived at Sunset's house and entered into the house. "Make yourself at home, do you want anything?" Sunset asked trying to make sure Twilight was comfortable. "Is it okay if I grab a glass of water just?" Twilight asked pointing ro the kitchen. "Yeah of course, you know where glasses are right?" Twilight nodded heading to the kitchen. Sunset turned on the TV and set up the movie the two has planned to watch. Until she heard a loud smash. Sunset looked up to see Twilight had dropped and shattered a glass. "Oh Sunset I'm so sorry, I didn't mean too." Twilight apologied quickly. "Hey Twi, it's okay it's not a big deal-" Sunset cut off as she saw Twilight had cut her arm, and she was bleeding. Sunset couldn't move, she had this weird hunger, she wanted Twilight. She felt so attracted to her, more than she ever had before. Sunset walked up to Twilight as if she was in a sort of trance. She stopped just inches from Twilight, Twilight stared back at her in confusion, "Hey Twilight? Have I ever told you how beautiful I think you are?" Sunset asked in a flirtatious tone. Sunset just spoke, she didn't think about what she was saying. "U-uh, thank you Sunset, but I think this is an awkward time?" Twilight asked. "Ah shit right." Sunset handed Twilight a tissue to wipe the blood with, it was only small so it wasn't too damaging, Sunset then grabbed a plaster from the cabinet and handed it to Twilight. The two sat down after the glass was cleaned up. Finally to watch the movie they decided on. Sunset just barely convinced Twilight to watch a horror movie. A good while into the movie Sunset started to get bored as there was no action happening, she looked over to Twilight, a grin growing on her face. She suddenly had much more confidence than she had before. Sunset moved over and climbed on top of Twilight, pinning her back to the sofa. Twilight stared back at Sunset, blushing hard and speechless. Sunset's canine teeth started to grow, Twilight noticed, "Hey S-Sunset you're teeth..." "Don't look at my teeth, just look at me, with your pretty eyes." Twilight looked into Sunset's now Crimson red eyes. Twilight didn't know what to make of the situation, it was like sunset was a whole different person right now. Sunset began to lean in, inches from Twilight's face. And then... > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset grabbed Twilight's shirt and pulled her towards herself. Closing the distance between them and finally kissing her, to Twilight's surprise and delight. Both of them had craved for this moment to happen for ages now. Hoping just to hold each other as close as possible. Finally Sunset pulled away, much to both their dismay and just stared deep into Twilight's eyes, Twilight also staring into Sunset's red eyes. Cherishing the moment they just shared. Twilight could tell something was off, she felt as if she was in a sort of danger. Her eyes drifted from Sunset's crimson eyes, to her pointed ears and then to her long, sharp teeth. She knew she was in danger, but she didn't care, she just wanted more of Sunset. Twilight crashed forward into Sunset, shocking Sunset slightly, before her shock turned into a devilish grin. Twilight once again locked the two into a deep kiss. The pair kept their lips together, only parting last second for air. Sunset kept her grin nearly as sharp as her teeth. She leaned her head down beginning to kiss and suck on Twilight's neck. No doubt leaving a difficult to hide hickey Twilight would have to deal with tomorrow. To her own surprise Twilight let out a quiet moan. Barely audible but she could obviously tell Sunset heard it from her devious chuckle. Suddenly Twilight let out a shriek before cutting herself off by holding her hand over her mouth. She had a stinging pain in her neck. Sunset had bitten her. "Sunset what the fuck?" She barely made out through her shock that Sunset would do that. She knew she was bleeding, and could feel Sunset drinking it. Letting her question linger in the air. Finally Sunset raised her head up back to look at Twilight, "Aww I'm sorry Twi, I didn't realise how hungry I was. Not hungry for any food. Just for you... for your blood." "Sunset w-what are you?" Twilight asked, frightened, scared this wasn't her Sunset. "I don't know what I am anymore Twi. But I know what I want. You. I just want you Twilight. My Twilight." Sunset slowly opened her eyes, blinking away the sleepiness. She sat up just to see she was laying on her couch. With... Twilight right beside her? "Oh God, what'd I do last night?" She asked herself as Twilight quietly snored. Sunset glanced at Twilight's neck, she'd left a hickey on her neck and, a bite mark? Why would she bite Twilight enough to draw blood? Sunset was deeply confused, she had no idea what happened, why she didn't know what happened and what to do. She was lost in this situation. She worried that she had made a big mistake last night that she couldn't remember. Especially considering Twilight's shirt was noticeably messed up and nearly fully unbuttoned, apart from the 2 buttons at the bottom barely holding the shirt together. Sunset got up quietly, in fear of waking Twilight, she headed to her kitchen where she'd usually make some sort of breakfast, she layed out everything needed for bacon and eggs. Once she did Sunset just kind of awkwardly stared at them before realising her absence of hunger. She decided instead to make some for Twilight once she woke up. Twilight awoke to the sound of a plate hitting the table, a small noise but Twilight was usually a light enough sleeper. She wiped her eyes as she took her glasses from the coffee table infront of the couch. Twilight looked around confused, this wasn't her house? Her face immediately went red as she noticed her very untidy shirt and crooked skirt, suggesting a particular action took place last night. Memories came back to her that she both enjoyed and deeply hated remembering. Twilight lost herself in space for a moment after finally coming back to hearing Susnet call for her. "Twi, I made some breakfast if you'd like it." Twilight looked at Sunset in confusion, how could she be so calm after what happened last night. She got up without saying a word, fixing her outfit while doing so. Coming over to the table she looked at the meal, eggs and bacon were some of her favourites for breakfast. "Thank you Sunset, but umm, how can you be so calm after umm... last night." "Huh? I don't really remember what happened last night, at all. Oh God do you mean we did what I think we did?" Sunset asked as Twilight nodded embarrassed. "Oh Twi I'm really sorry, I hope I didn't make you do anything you didn't want too." Sunset said with clear shame in her voice. "No, no. I didn't not want anything, I uh... kind of enjoyed it." Twilight again went beet red at her own words. "But what happened last night, you had such large canine teeth and were drinking my blood." Sunset appeared shocked as she had no idea what Twilight was talking about. "Is that the mark on your neck? I swear ever since I got bitten by that damned bat I've been all weird and have a strange blood craving and a lack of appetite." "You got bit by a bat? And have a blood craving? It's almost like you're some sort of vampire." Twilight joked. "Heh yeah, good one Twi. But Vampires don't actually exist. Right?" "Right"
