I found myself on a stone brige running with fog surrounding every corner. I am not running in confidence, but fear. Fear and misery. Soon, I start to hear voices. I can't make out what their saying, but i can hear them. I stop myself abruptly as soon as I realize that I have reached the end of the brige. I look down too see that it's a good 50 feet down. I hear a deep voice say to me,
"Chaos shall rise again. Zero and Infinity will support the posseser in sealing Chaos once again for all of eternity."
"Hey, who's there? Show yourself!" I demanded. No answer. "You better come out right now!" Still no response. Somehow, the brige expanded, and the voice said "Proceed." I ran across the brige's extension. When I got to the end, I saw a castle. It seemed more like a church. as soon as I approched, the doors swung open. "Enter." said the voice. I stepped inside, and gasped at what I saw. It was the statue of a human like figure wearing a cape. I could see its ribcage. And plus, it had 5 bat-like wings. Soon, the statue had been engulfed in a black flame. The church's room lit up, but I kept my eyes fixed on the statue. Or at least, what was a statue. "Now," it said, with that same voice, "We duel!"
I woke up with sweat on my face, and I was panting. It was barely morning. It has been about 2 months since Discord's third defeat. I had my own house now, and I liked it. I did my morning routine, and stepped outside my house. Then a mailmare flew down and gave me two things. The newspaper for today and an envolope.
"Enjoy your day" said the mailmare.
"You too." I said. I stepped back into my house and sat down on my couch. I looked at the envolope, and my eyes widened. I opened it up and pulled out two cards. One was labeled "Infinity" and the other "Zero". Then I looked at the envolope again and noticed a note. I took it out and it read
"You who now possess Zero and Infinity, go forth!" I looked out the window and I knew what I had to do.
*Canterlot Castle*
I knew that what ever was coming about, it wasn't good. I had to speak to Celestia without anypony noticing me. Thankfuly, I had gotten into the castle with little to no trouble. I was doing fine, untill I got to the kitchen. I could hear a conversation, so I ran to the nearest wall and put my back on it like they do in those movies where the guy or girl is trying to get to a spot in the building their in without getting noticed. problem for me was, this wasn't scripted. I could hear two voices arguing
"No, we should put it in the dungeon! then we don't have to worry about anypony finding out about it!" said one voice. then I heard what sounded like a slap.
"Everypony IS supposed to know about it, you idiot! You know what Queen Chrysilis said!"
"Chrysillis?" I thought "Why in Celestia's name would..." I took a look inside the kitchen and noticed two changelings. One had some crazy armor, and the other looked like your average changeling. I assumed that the one in armor was their captain. But what caught my attention is that they were both in their normal state. "Why would they stay in normal form with all the ga..." but then I remembered not seeing a single gaurd at the entry of the castle, or in the halls I've been in.
"You hear that?" asked the captain
"No, sir."
"Must be my imagination." I sprtinted across the hall opening andcontinued onward.
*Celestia's Room*
When I got to Celestia's room, I noticed a crack in the door. I looked in it, and as much as I could see, nopony was inside. I opened the door and saw Celestia crying in a corner. I ran to her and knelt down
"Celestia, what's wrong?" I asked. She looked up at me
"Oh, Mason. It's Luna. She's gone. And plus, I can't use my magic and none of my gaurds are at the castle anymore."
"Now, now, it'll be ok." I heard laughter soon after I said that
"Oh, will it?" said a voice.
"Wait, hang on, that sounds like..." and Chrisilis appeared before me.
"Yes, it is I, Chrisillis." she said. "I have heard of you, and i believe that you have something I want."
"Bring out three minions of yours. if they get beaten, you give Celestia her powers back and return the gaurds and Luna to the castle." She laughed.
"And if not?"
"Then the cards are yours."
"Come to me, changelings!" two changelings and the captain from before came into the room. "Destroy him!"
"Just like a boss fight." I smirked "Bring it on you over-sized bugs!" the two changelings flew at me, making a slight buzzing noise.
The two changelings flew at me, and gave them a punch in their faces. Then I grabbed them by their necks and bonked their heads together, saying "Bonk" like the Scout would and throwing them to the ground unconcious.
"Impossible! There's no way a mere human could do that!" Said Chrysillis in compleate shock. the captain flew at me with great speed, and I barely doged him, making him crash into a wall. I ran over to him and slammed him on the ground with his leg. Then I spun him aroud with the same leg and slammed him into Chrisillis, sending both of them out an open window. "Bullseye!" I said. Chrisillis flew back up and she looked angry. "Is there a problem?" I asked with a smirk.
"Why you little, GO!" She yelled, and the captain flew back in with a few dents on his armor. he flew at me with full speed and takled me. I got of the ground quickly and gave him a good kick and started what I called "The Face Buster" where I would deliver a good 15-20 strickes in a matter of seconds, and finished it with a big uppercut and a punch in the gut. He fell to the ground knocked out.
"You remember our deal, right?" I said with a smirk.
"But...how...why...HOW DID THAT...grr...FINE! THIS ISN'T THE LAST YOU'VE SEEN OF ME!" she and the changelings vanished and soon I could see the gaurds at their places again. What caught my interest is that they looked like they had been there this whole time. I could feel a hug on me.
"Thank you." said Celestia. Then I felt a kiss.
*Ponyvile Hospital*
I opened my eyes to see the main 6 and me in a hospital bed
"Oh, thank goodness your awake." I heard Fluttershy say
"Wha?" I managed to say. I searched for the two cards I had recieved earlier, and thankfully, they were still there. I looked at my arm and saw a bunch of scratches. "Uhh...how did these..."
"Long story." said Twilight.
"Long story?" I asked, rather confused "Hey, how long was I out cold?"
"About two days." Said Dash.
"We were all worried about you." said Rarity
"Ya aught ta' be more careful, sugarcube." said Applejack
"Celestia told us all abouthow you beat those changelings and how you were like POW! and how you-" and pinkie pie kept aon talking and talking, and when she was done, she had been talking about helium somehow. A little after they left, I took a brief nap.
*Later that night*
I woke up from my nap and noticed that somepony was in the room. I couldn't tell who it was, so I reached for the light and turned it on.
"Huh? Who's there?" asked Dash, unaware that we were alone in the room.
"It's just me, Dash." I said, half asleep.
"Oh." she said, blushing.
"I like that shade of red on your cheecks." I told her, not realizing what was going on at the moment.
"Well, look at the time, almost forgot to get some stuff at Sugarcube Corner, bye!" and with that, Dash flew out of the room. I looked at the clock and thought "Who in existance would go get sweets at 3 A.M?" but I just shrugged it off and put in the back of my head.
I found myself looking at the same fiend from before. But this time, it didnt seem as agressive as last time. And this time, he actually had some skin on his face and arms.
"They posses more power than you think." the creature pointed to my pocket where I had put the cards in as if he saw me put them there.
"What do you mean?" I asked "There just cards."
"Not any ordinary cards." the fiend snapped its fingers "Observe." I was blinded by a light, and when I recovered, I was shocked. It was discord encased in stone, but not like 2 months earlier. Then out of nowhere, a man in a black robe apperared. and layed two cards in front of Discord. "Breaker's hammer of fate!" yelled the figure. I couldn't tell if it was just how loud he yelled it, but the statue began to crack once again, and the figure had somehow escaped before Discord was completly free. I soon saw the feind again and was back in the room.
"That wasnt..." I said, still shocked with disbelief
"It was." said the feind. "And fate has much more in store for you. Follow the 7 and you will see the power."
*Hospital Room*
I woke up with a sigh of relief. Looking at my arm, I noticed the scratches from yesterday were gone.
"The 7...what could that mean?" I asked myself. A nurse walked in
"I have good news for you!" she said "You're free to go."
"Thanks." I got out of the bed
*My House*
I walked into my door, and sat down on my couch and thought for a while. "The 7...well, I guess im doing what Twilight would do in this situation." I pulled out some paper and a pen. "Make a list."
*About 10 Minutes Later.*
My list was only filled with about 2 logical things at this point. The number of colors in a rainbow and luck. I was preatty sure that I had filled my list to my standards.
"Luck or a rainbow. Heck, maybe both. but where do I..." I soon remembered what had happened earlier in the morning. "Thats why she..." I put down my list and everything else and left the house.
*Sugarcube Corner*
Before walking in, I took a look at the hours they were open
"Open Everyday From 5:30 A.M.-9:00 P.M." Today was Monday, so when Dash left, they were still closed. I walked in.
"Why hello there Mason." Said Mrs. Cake. "Anything I can help you with?"
"Yea." I said "Has Dash stopped here lately?"
"I'm preatty sure she did. Oh yes! She told me to give this to you!" She pulled out a big box from behind the desk.
"Uh..ok."
"There you go." she said "Careful, its heavy!" I lifted the box up with a bit of difficulty.
"Thanks for stopping by!" she said as I walked out the door.
*Ponyvile Square*
I was walking without knowing where I was going.
"Okay, my arms need a break." I carefuly set the box down "Man, how did she even fly with this thing? it must be 50 pounds!" I looked up and saw Twilight
"Need help with that?" she asked
"Sure." I said
"Nice to see you out of the hospital."
"Yea. Hey I want to ask you something."
"Ask away!"
"Do you think Dash has been acting a bit...strange lately?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I woke up at 3 in the morning and turned my light on and I noticed she was asleep. Well untill I turned my light on."
"Okay..."
"After that, we talked a bit and she flew off and said she had to go to Sugarcube Corner. I go there a bit later and Mrs. Cake gave me this and said it was from her."
"Hmm...I don't know, but it looks like were here, so bye!" and with that, she set the box down.
"Thanks!" I yelled.
"She's hiding something." said a voice. It only tok me a while, but I recognized it as the feind. "Yes, it is I, the creature of your dreams."
"Well, where are you?" I said outloud
"I dwell withing your mind for as long as you posses the cards I supplied you with."
"Ok." I thought to myself
"Just think of me as a little helper or advisor."
"Alright, I guess. Just so you know, I'm going to be getting rid of these cards after I'm done dealing with Chrysilis."
"As you wish."
When I got inside, I opened the box up. Inside was a giant cake. I stared at it for a good 2-3 minutes. I walked around it, wating for some kind of prank to take place. Nothing.
"Ok, let's see how this tastes." I took a slice out, seeing as how it was pre-cut. After eating a slice, I was full.
"Well, that was good. I wounder how she could affored it. must have been about 2500 bits.Then I remember tasting something a bit crunchy, but juciy
"Wait... those were apples!" I stored the cake in a decent place somehow, and went outside again.
*Sweet Apple Acres*
I hadn't been here for a while, and I had forgotten how good the air smelled. I went sraight to the barn to see if anypony was inside. When I got closer, I could hear voices. I hid along the nearest wall.
"...I know that I should tell him, but how?"
"You'll know when. Trust me."
"Ok, thanks. maybe Rarity can help." I took a quick look and saw Dash flying towords Ponyvile. I decided to make this not to weird, so I decided to say hi while I was here. I hadn't seen Applejack for a while.
"Hey there." i said Applejack looked towords me.
"Well howdy! How have ya been?"
"Good." I looked around the barn.
"Somethin' bothering you?" she asked before I could respond the feind spoke
"Do not lie. She has an answer you may need later, but you must speak the truth to obtain it."
"It's about Dash." I said "She hasn't been herself lately."
"Oh. She's fine. Don't worry."
"She lies." said the feind. "The truth must be even between you two."
"Come on AJ, please, just tell me the truth."
"Alright, listen, she's got feelings fer somepony and she's a bit, ya know, misguided. Maybe ya aught to talk to her."
"It is even." said the feind. "We may now leave."
"Thanks Applejack." And with that, I left.
*Ponyville Square*
I walked around for a bit and talked a bit more with the feind
"So you knew Celestia?" I asked it
"Indeed. It was nice to see her after all these years."
"How long has it been?"
"Quite some time. Aproximitly 10,000 years in your time." I stopped apruptly "Is something wrong?"
"TEN thousand years?"
"In your time, yes."
"No way."
"I speak to you the truth and truth only. You basicly forced me to by showing it to me."
"What do you mean?" I asked it.
"I was sealed between my real home and this place. and with that, I lost my memories, but gained incredible knowledge.
"Where are you from?" I asked.
"Earth. It wasn't until your travel here that I could be free once again and have a physical form. I roamed both Earth and Equestria ever since I was locked away."
"Wait, who sealed you away?"
"Do not worry about that right now. We have arrived at our next destination. And your second answer"
"Alright." I knoked on the door "Hello? Anypony home?" the door opened
"Hey there, darling." said Rarity
"Hey."
"Generousity will give you the key."Said the feind
"So, you need help with anything?" I asked
"Actually, yes, come inside, please." After walking in, she guided me to her desighn room.
"If you would please try these on, I would greatly appreaciate it." she pulled about 3 suits, and I tried them all on.
"Oh thank you so much!" said Rarity, after it was all said and done.
"Anything else?"
"Hmm...not realy. Oh yes! Twilight stopped by earlier and said she wanted to see you."
"Ok, thanks!" and with that, I left.
"So, did I miss something or did I not get it yet?" I asked the fiend
"Coming!" said a voice from behind the door. The door opened.
"Well hey Spike! Is Twi home?"
"No, she actually just left with Rainbow Dash a while ago. Oh yeah! Hold on a sec, I'll be right back." and with that, he walked up the stairs. And he came back down with a green jewl in his hands. It looked just like that fire ruby in Secret of My Excess, but it was a lime-green color. "Twilight said to give this to you if you came while she's gone."
"Ok, what for?" I asked
"I don't know." said Spike "She said something about needing it for a get-together."
"Alright, thanks Spike!"
"Your welcome!" and after that, I left.
"Increadible! I don't belive it!" said Tom
"What, is ths my second answer?"
"Your second, third, and fourth! And whats more, this is known throught Equestria's history as 'the Gem of the Brave' an item which it's full powers are said to surpass the elements of harmony by a long shot."
"Ok, anything else?" I asked
"To my knowledge, no."
*Everfree Forest*
"I can't believe it! On my way to Fluttershy's house and I some how end up in Equestria's most dangerous Forest!" I said
"Do not give up." said Tom as we entered a clearing.
"I need a break!" I sat down on the grass and sighed. It reminded me of the way that would just sit on the grass back home whenever I was outside and there was nothing to do. I was pulled away from my memories of home when I heard distant voices that sounded familier
"... We've been searching this blasted forest for HOURS!" said one "If he's here, we wouldve found him already! and those cards!"
"We'll find him! And quit your complaining! If he's nearbye, he might hear you!" hissed the other. "So shut your mouth and keep looking!" It was'nt long before I got up and saw the two changelings from the castle.
"There you are!" The caiptin said the normal changeling flew towards me, but his captain yelled just before he could attack
"Halt! you heard the queen's orders! And besides, I dont feel like getting my flank beaten by him again, or worse!" the captain slowly walked towards me "Let me handle this." he approached me as the soldier walked back to the side
"Been a while, hasn't it?" I asked
"Indeed." He buzzed his wings so loudly, I had to cover my ears."That was a call to our queen. You can give us those cards of yours, or suffer our queen's power!"
"Don't bet on it pal. You'd have to beat me dead to get them."
"With pleasure." said a voice. I turned towords where it came from, only to be hit with a green laser, causing me to fall on to my back. Chrysilis landed on the ground. It hurt a bit, but I got back up quickly. "You'll be fighting me this time!"
"You won't win, Chrysisilis! I'm a lot stronger than last time!" she laughed
"My queen," began the captain before Crysillis could attack "I have important news. It is finally complete."
"That took long enough. Forget the cards, we're leaving!" said Crysillis as her and the two changelings flew away. I took a breath of relief. I decided it was probably best if I didn't venture any farther, so I tried to find my way out.
*Ponyvile Square*
I was on my way back to my house, when I heard a familiar voice. I couldn't tell who it was. i thought maybe I could help. when i got close enough to where the voice was coming from, I saw Spike.
"Oh man, I dont know which scarf she would like... that blue one with green stripes or that green one with blue stripes."
"What are you looking for?" I asked. Spike jumped in surprise and turned around.
"Oh, it's just you. I'm looking for Rarity's birthday present. Twilight gave me twenty bits, but all i can find that i can buy are these." He pointed a claw at the two scarves. "And I don't know which one she would like."
"Umm. I think she would like...that one!" I pointed at the blue scarf.
"Thanks! You're the best!" He ran up to the front counter, baught the scarf, and left.
"I can't believe I forgot!" I ran to a random section, grabbed an item, and put it on the front desk
"That'll be..." before the clerk could finish, I threw bag filled with about 50 bits i had saved and left with my item.
My one mistake that day.
*Carosoul Botique*
Thankfully, I arrived to the party on time. I set my rather terribly wrapped present down on the table. When it was present time, mine was chosen to be opened first. As soon as she saw it, her face immediatly turned red.
"Umm... could Mason and I have a little chit-chat please?" Everypony but Rarity and I left the room.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You know exactly why!" she whispered
"Look, I understand if you already have that brand, but I'm not exactly..." I noticed she was using her magic to give me the box I had managed to put my item in.
"I still don't follow."
"Open it up."
"...Why?"
"Just do it for Celestia's sake!"
"Okay but I don't really....AHH!" In the box before me, were 4 socks. I could have sworn that I had baught her boots, but I was looking at socks.
"Listen I..."
"No no, if you fell that way, i understand, but You probably alredy know that it wouldn't really..." She turned around and ran out of the botique.
"WAIT!" I yelled. She was to far for her to hear me. I ran afer her. I needed to find her. And quickly!
"Rarity!" I yelled "RARITY, WHERE ARE YOU?" No response. I had been searching for Rarity for a few hours now, and most of my search party (the rest of the main 6 and spike) were fast asleep. I didn't understand what had happened earlier at the store though. I was almost certain that I had grabbed boots.
"But where are boots in the sock department?" asked Tom. I had nearly fallen to the ground out of surprise.
"Geez, don't sneak up on me like that! I don't...wait, did you say...SOCK DEPARTMENT?!? You mean to tell me that I was In the sock department of that store when got Rarity's gift and you couldn't even tell me?"
"I would have, but you left before I could warn you."
"I don't believe this. Anyways, you said you were born on Earth, correct?"
"Yes, I was. Why dou you ask?'
"Well, its just that..." I took a look at Tom "You don't even look human. No offence, but you look more like a fiend."
"You would be surprised what 15 equestrian years can do to a human body."
"Wait, equestrian years?"
"Yes. About 6 centries in your time is a day in Equestrian time." My jaw almost met the dirt.
"6 CENTRIES? That's 600 years, right?"
"Indeed." I couldn't believe it. On earth, everyone I knew was dead. "I understand that this is hard for to take, especially considering the situation right now, but if, like me, you..." he stopped.
"I what?"
"Nevermind."
"No, I want to know right now! Tell me!"
"Some things are better left unexplained. We should go back to your home."
*The Next Morning*
I don't know how I had managed to sleep, considering the news I had recived the night before. To think that just one day was 600 years. That means that Christopher Columbus did his exploration, we got our independance, and had both world wars in the same day here, along with a lot of other stuff. I figured it's best if I continued my search. I got outside, and was amazed at what I saw. It was me, on the very day I started a life in Equestria. Sleeping. The digital alarm clock I had read 4:00 AM, approximitly 5 hours before I would wake up on that summer day. I was about to wake myself up, but the vision I had faded. I was still looking outside the door. I sighed "Even if I go home, it won't be the same." I walked around Ponyville before I continued my search, and after a while, I felt something. It was like a strong pull, drawing me to something. I had little to no control of my body at that moment, so I was actually being pulled by this force. after about 15 minutes, The force had stopped pulling, and I got control of my body again. "Well that was...weird." I looked up and saw Canterlot castle.
"Oh ha ha, fate, very funny."
"You may not want to go in there right now." I looked behind me to see a unicorn. "There's a rather serious event taking place in the castle, and they said that nopony is allowed at the moment."
"Ok, thanks for the info!" I walked back to Ponyvile. Or atleast, i tried to. When I was almost out of the castle grounds, I had somehow telaported to Ponyvile. Then to Everfree Forest. Then back to Canterlot. I felt dizzy afterwards, and felt something hit me in the back of the head, and after that, I was out cold.
*Unknown Location*
I awoke to find myself chained to a wall. Then I heard laughter
"Looks like our little friend here is up again." said a voice. I opened my eyes to see two changelings.
"What the... get me down from here right now!" I yelled.
"Let him." I heard a voice from the shadows say. I looked across from me to see a long and dark hallway. Then I saw two glowing green orbs. "He's powerless now."
"Crysillis." I mutterd to myself.
"Well, aren't you smart." she stepped out into full veiw. "You sure do have quite the potential. show him the main screen!" At her command, one of the changelings pressed a button. A hologram came up, showing Rarity bounded the same way i was with a cannon with a green rim pointed at her.
"Somepony, anypony, HELP!" she screamed.
"Rarity!" I yelled.
"She can't hear you at the moment. Join us," began Crysillis "Or witness her destruction!" I heard a humming noise come from the cannon.
"I'll never join the likes of you."
"Well, smartt and fiesty. Too bad." she pushed a button, and a green light came from the head of the cannon. "SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR LITTLE FRIEND!" a green light fired fom the cannon. When it was gone, so was Rarity.
"Such a shame. And even better, the elements are useless now!" she laughed. I was burning with rage.
"You punk....YOU DAMNED HEARTLESS PUNK!" she continued to laugh. I tried to break free, but my efforts were in vain. "Spike, Twilight, Applejack, Dash, Pinkie, Fluttershy, Sweety Belle, everypony.....I'm sorry."
"She's...dead?" I heard Spike's voice say "Why didn't you do anything?"
"I couldn't." I heard myself say.
"She's gone. An' yer the one who caused all this?" I heard Applejack say
"Yes." I said
"I can't believe that you just let her die like that!" I heard Rainbow dash said, yelling at me "You could have saved her!"
"Why, darling?" I heard Rarity's voice say "Why did you let me?" I was broken from my vission to hear Crysillis laughing. "You could have saved your friend, but I guess that you'll just have to join her." I felt a burning feeling within me. I could see the chains melting "What in the world? What are you doing? Stop this at once!" I felt the burn get hotter.
"I will avenge you, Rarity!" The burn was at its peak now.
"Attack him, NOW!" yeld Crysillis. I saw myself surrounded in a red aura of some sort. how it got there to this day I still don't know. Two changelings flew towards me, only to be burnt to a crisp. "How? Grr...I guess I'll have to take care of this myself!"
Crysillis shot a green laser at me and I deflected it with ease. She fired over and over, not a single one hit me.
"This is impossible! Your just a mere, lone human! You should be begging for mercy!" She yelled "There's no reason as to why any human should be this strong! Your not Mason, not anymore, I can tell. So who are you?"
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am the bringer of hope and justice. I am the light that shines in the darkness. I am..." I thought of a new nickname that sounded cool. "Red Nova."
"Well then lets see how you do," her horn glowed green and the both of us were sent to an arena "Against my changeling army!" Hundereds of changelings flew into the arena and charged towards me. Then they swarmed aroundme and began to attack. One by one, they came at me. And one by one, they fell to the ground. soon, it got hard to tell when a changeling was going to strike, and one got by by surprise in the back. I nearly fell to the gronund, but I was forced down to the ground by one of them. There were about ten changelings left, and they all began to attack me. I was almost about to get huddle struck, when I felt the burn come again "
"Use the flame to your will." Said Tom "It is your own."
"Fire Cyclone!" I yelled, and the changelings were scattered away, each one starting to burn. I was surrounded by a tornado of flames "Cease!" I yelled, and the flames cleared.
"Give up yet, Crysillis?" I asked
"Never! Captain Duplicate, come forth! Teach this annoying little brat a lesson!" From the other end of the arena, I saw two gates open and out came the infamous captain from before.
"We meet again. You'll pay for thinking that you can put a stop to our queens plans! I'll make this place your grave!" He said. He had a different set of armor. It was black with green flames coming out of four pipes, two on each side. It also had spikes on the back, and starting from the back of his neck, the spikes grew in size, giving him a mowak-like look. "You may have beaten me in Canterlot, but this time, It'll be different!"
"That's what you think!" He started to run towards me, and so did I. We collided and the whole arena was surrounded in green and red flames. For every strike I delivered, he gave me one back. Him and I were on par with another. He ran towards me again, but this time I dodged to the side just before he hit me and then ducked before the flames could, too. He stopped and turned around and looked me in the eye
"This is rediculous!" he yelled "No creature in existance has even lasted 10 seconds against me in this armor! but yet, a mere human is able to be on par with me. A mere HUMAN! I will not stand for this! no more holding back!" the flames turned into burning wings so large, they put Celestia's to shame. "You will die, HERE. AND. NOW!" He flew high in the air, then swooped down like an eagle. It was so fast, I barely saw it coming. By time I did, however, it was too late. the strike was so strong, I almost thaught my ribs were broken. "Time to die, punk!" He charged a green ball of energy from his horn "Any last words before I erase you from existance?" Then I remembered something. Something I had wanted to do before I even knew who Twilight Sparkle even was. "In fact, there is one word I can think of." I put my arms strait out at him and put my hands together to have them make a c shape "Here goes nothing." I told myself
"Ka......me...." I put my arms and hands behind me, about at the level of my waist, still keeping my hands in that c shape. "Ha......me..." I let some of my energy into my hands and felt a ball of energy come in my hands. I put my arms out
"HAAAAAAA!" The red wave came out of my hands in a strait line. The Captain fired his green wave, similar to what defeated Celestia. "This is the same thing that was used to defeat her highness on that fateful day!" he yelled "You're history!" The struggle between his wave of energy and mine lasted about 3 minutes, then I decided to end it right here, right now. "Full power!" I relased a lot more of my energy, and my wave dominated his, causing it to reach his horn "No. This can't be! My queen, I failed you!" and with that, he slowly decintigrated into nothing, and I stopped the energy in my wave, and it vanished. I couldn't believe it! I pulled off my first actual Kamehameha!
"NO! NO NO NO NO NOO!" Yelled Crysillis "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT! I SHOULD BE THE ONE TO WIN! ME! NOT YOU!" I smirked
"You mad, Crysillis?" she growled
"TIME FOR YOU TO MEET YOUR MAKER!" She rentered the arena "Now, you will suffer your queen's wrath!"
"Queen of what? There's no more changelings, so what exactly are you? The last of your kind, that's for sure."
"SHUT UP!" she yelled.
"Listen, Cryssi, I'm feeling a bit more merciful than before." I told her, in a soothing voice "And I actually think it's kind of amusing how you think you can beat me."
"What did you just say?"
"You heard me. Now, I know that Rarity isn't really dead, is she?"
"What? How did you... how did you know?"
"I know because I can sense that she's here."
"HA! Maybe... maybe in spirit, however,"
"Don't lie to me Cryssi, I know for a fact she's alive now. So where is she?"
"I'll never tell you!"
"Very well. Fire Chainlock!" four flames emerged from the ground and each one grabbed one of Chrysillis's legs.
"Now, where is she? if you lie, the flames will burn."
"The...the attic! Enter the castle, go up 10 flights of stairs, go down the hall and she's in the fourth door down the hall on the left. She's in there!" The flames didn't burn, so she was telling the truth.
"Thanks." I said. I ran out of the arena, and immediatly saw the castle. "I'm coming, Rarity." I thaught to myself as I ran towards the castle.
*Changeling Castle*
I managed to open up the doors with ease, thanks to my new superhuman powers. I got up to the 10th floor, and opened up the 4th door on the left.
"Mason! what are you doing here?" asked Rarity, surprised by my appearence.
"Just here to save you, thats all." I ran up to her and burned the chains.
"What the...How did you..."
"Long story." I said. "C'mon. Everypony's worried about you." Before we could leave, Crysillis appeared before us, the marks from the chains still on her legs.
"And where do you think you're going?" she asked.
"YOU!" yelled Rarity "First, you think that you can just pretend to be Cadance at the wedding, then you trick me into coming here, only to be chained by your discusting bugs? You have a lesson to learn!" Rarity charged her magic, and fired a beam. It hit Crysillis, but she barely seemed damaged. Crysillis charged a beam and fired it from her horn.
"Rarity, no!" I yelled "Flame Shield!" the shield of flames appeared just in time to block the attack.
"Mason..." said Rarity. After that, she fainted. "Shield, down!" I yelled. The shield vanished "You never learn, do you Crysillis? Flame Bergade!" At my command, hundereds of fireballs struck the queeen, almost killing her. "Magic lock!" I yelled. Crysillis's horn started to glow green, but then faded.
"No, this can't be!" yelled Crysillis.
"Were out of here. Flame Enrichment!" Crysillis was lifted up and locked in her own chains "Flame Brick!" A burning rectangle appeard in my hands
"No, please! I'll be a good queen!" I smirked
"Hasta lavista, baby." I threw the brick, and it exploded in her face, knocking her out. I picked up Rarity and left the castle.
I was speechless as to what I have done here in Equestria so far. About two years ago, I defeated the spirit of chaos, Discord. And now, I just defeated the queen of all...non existant changelings. And thanks to the help of these powers to control fire. "How did I even get these powers?" I asked myself. I expected Tom to say something, but he was silent. I looked down at Rarity, and couldn't help but admire that adorable, cute, little...
"No." I told myself. "I am NOT going to get a crush on her, I am NOT going to get a... " I looked down
"Dangnabit, no wonder why Spike...NO!" I heard Rarity mumble something, then say "Sooo waarm...." Thankfuly, we were almost at Ponyville at this point.
*Ponyvile*
At last, I was finally in Ponyvile. I hadn't felt this thankful to be here since the very day I arrived.
"He's back!" I heard somepony say
"The hero has returned!"said another.
"Mason!" Dash came flying towards me, and almost crashed into me.
"Hey." I said.
"I can't believe you faught Crysillis alone! And her change-things, too! Why didn't you invite me to help?"
"I really didn't get an invite. You see....." And with that, I told her everything that happened. Except my somewhat-new feelings for a white unicorn. "....And now, I'm here!" After I was done explaining, Rarity woke up.
"Huh...what...what happened?" She asked
"Long story." I said.
*Ponyvile Library*
(Three Weeks Later)
"Twilight, I have to ask you something." I said.
"Yea, sure what is it?"
"Do you have any books that explain using fire powers?"
"Umm...Let me see here...Ah ha! found it!" She pulled out a book and set it on the shelf. "Why, what?"
"Well...How do I put this... Ah ha!" I snapped my fingers, and a flame light up. "Flame Transfer!" The fire in my fingers went to a nearby candle. I looked at Twilight to see a very surprised look on her face. "What?" I asked
"Did...Did you just...Do that?" She asked
"Uh huh." I said she shook her head in disbelief
"There's no way...This must be a dream!"
"Look, I know you're surprised, heck, even I dont know how I got these powers."
*Library Basement*
"Ok, here goes." Twilight sighed "What's the last thing you remeber before getting these powers?"
"Ok, let's see here...Getting angry at Crysillis, wanting to get revenge, Melting chains..."
"Alright, alright, okay. Hold on, I'll be right back." Twilight went upstairs. A few moments later, she came back down with a book.
"So, do I have some weird illness, am I a superhuman now, what?"
"Turns out.....you can use love spells."
"WHAT? That's a joke right?"
"Read it yourself." She levitated the book to me. "Page 115 paragraph 2" she said. I began to read. it said,
"It is possible for creatures other than unicorns to use magic, however. Ones who possess a deep love for somepony will be able to use it upon having a vengence on somepony who harms that somepony. This is thanks to the Magical Field in Equestria. The type of magic the creature can use depends on the passion. If it is new, the user will be able to use fire, for example. The new user, regardless of what type it is, will be able to perform love spells, as many of the earliest Equestrian myths state."
"If those myths are true." I said.
"Many of them are true. So who is it?" She asked
"Who's who?"
"Your crush, silly."
"...Nopony in particular.
"C'mon, you can tell me."
"You really dont wanna know."
"Yes I do." I sighed
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." There was a knock. "I'll get that!" and with that, I ran up the stairs. I oppened the door, and there she was. In a dress. "Ok, pretend this is your house for like, 10 seconds" I thaught to myself
"May I come in?" she asked
"Indeed you may."
"Such a gentleman." she said, as she came in "Twilight, are you ready yet?"
"Coming!" Twilight came up the stairs "Stay here, Mason, I still want to talk when I get back." She left and shut the door behind her.
I awoke and proceeded to my routine, etc, etc. I figured today I was going to just relax. after I had sat on my couch for a while, I realized that I was getting rediculously bored. I frowned
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say that this just calls for a bit of action." I told myself. I opened my door and decided I would take a quicker route to the park. After all, maybe I could do some training.
*Ponyville Park*
When I arrived, I noticed that nopony was here yet. I walked out to an open area, and closed my eyes. I decided it was best if I could see how long I could use my shield. "Flame shield!" I yelled. Just like earlier, I was surrounded by a sphere of transparent flames. After a minute or two, I lowered it. I figured that the only way I could REALLY train is if I could practice both my offensive and defensive skills. I sighed
"I should do this somewhere else." I told myself. Maybe I could find a job that could help.
*My House*
I found the envolope from a few days prior and opened it. I looked and all the jobs on the list, and frowned in dissapointment, upon making the realization that none of them would work. Untill I saw the last one on the list.
*Office*
"So, you wanna be a stuntspo...umm..." the stallion looked at me with a rather confused look
"Stuntspearson." I said
"Err...right. Show me what you got."
"You have any opener spaces? My tricks might ruin some of your stuff."
"Of course! Follow me." and with that, he led me to an empty field. "Let's see it, sport."
"Flame Airworks!" I shot out five bursts of fire, sending each one into the sky. I had them do some loops and stuff, but I wasn't done yet. I spread out my arms, and instantly, the flames burst like fireworks. I looked at the stallion, who's face was soaked in shock. "Waddya think?" I asked.
"Most spectacular!" he said "Boy, where in Equestria did you learn how to do that?"
"Long story." I said. He looked at me again.
"And what did you say your name was?" he asked
"Mason."
"Well, I'm Peddle Sticks, but mostly everypony calls me Ped for short. We'll keep in touch." he told me.
"Thanks!" and with that, I left
*Ponyville Square*
I was on my way back to my house, thinking about what life had been like before I got here. I remebered my family,how we always got together on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and how my aunt always made the best fruit salad ever, and a bunch of other things.
"Those were good times." I told myself "And although I may never go back, It was nice." I soon realized that It actually wasn't that much different from here to earth. The majorty of citizens here respect one another most of the time, and help when others are in need. I soon snapped back to reality when I realized that I was at my house. I was still a bit bored, but I guess its imposible to make "Fight a powerful figure" a part of my routine. Then I realized that it was almost sunset already. I went in my house and went to bed.
Little did I know what power was waiting.
*Unkown Location*
"He WHAT?" asked a low voice, almost in a growl. "What do you mean he hit you with a fire rock? HE'S A MERE HUMAN!" a long pause soon followed."Grr...You're useless!" it yelled soon after the slam of a phone.
"So, Crysillis got beaten, I take it?" asked another voice. this one was higher pitched, almost child-like.
"She was." said the other "What does it take to get rid of a human? This is rediculous!fisrt Discord and now her! Sombra is useless, seeing as how he was beatean by that pathetic heart."
"Well, maybe he's the hero of legend."
"Don't be stupid! He was killed over a millenea ago! By MY hand! And unlike you, I ALWAYS finish what I start instead of toying around like a three year old!"
"Well I just want a little bit of fun, thats all!" A door opened
"Lord Barron, I am to inform you that he does have one weakness!" said a voice.
"Tell me!" said Barron
"The element of Generosity. If she is taken, he is sure to come here! Then you destroy him!"
"Set a couse for Equestria. More specificly," Barron smirked "The Caurosul Boutique."
"Right away sir!" and with that, a small, dwarf-sized man left the room. Barron smirked once more.
